February 17, 2025: New tax for cruise passengers visiting the Greek islands.

The Greek government has implemented a new tax on cruise travellers visiting Greek islands, per port and passenger. Celestyal will collect the applicable local government taxes based on disembarked ports for all guests, upon check out. This will be calculated based on the number of guests going ashore in each Greek port and added to each individual disembarking guest onboard account each day of the cruise. This is not a Celestyal charge, but a mandatory levy by the Greek authorities that we are collecting on their behalf, as required by the relevant legislation.
