Greece consists of a mountainous mainland peninsula and numerous Greek islands – 1400, of which 227 are inhabited, and a few of which are well-known as popular destinations. Weather: Spring and fall are the best seasons for Greece vacations, specifically during the months of May, June, September, and October. During the winter season, as cold temperatures set in to the region, most of the tourist infrastructure shuts down. January sees temperatures average 10C in Athens where July has average temperatures of 28C.
