Your journey begins in the city that has given us great music and great food: the ^Jazz Capital of the World,^ New Orleans.
2New Orleans
Embark on a walking tour of the French Quarter and see the stately St. Louis Cathedral, delight to the sights and sounds of the French Marketplace, and thrill to the views of the Moon Walk and Pirate's Alley, the infamous meeting place of Jean Lafitte and his partners. No visit would be complete without having a beignet and cafe au lait at the world-famous Cafe Du Monde. Then it's on to a memorable cruise along the mighty Mississippi, aboard the SS Natchez, an authentic steamboat paddle wheeler. This evening, dinner is included at the New Orleans School of Cooking. Watch in delight as Creole and Cajun experts teach New Orleans specialties and season them with history, trivia and tall tales. It's a guaranteed good time for all! (B, D)

Your day begins with a tour of one of New Orleans' historical cemeteries. You will drive along Lake Pontchartain and St. Charles Avenue to view the beautiful mansions, universities and churches. This morning, you depart New Orleans to travel to the heart of plantation country, St. Francisville, for a fascinating tour of Rosedown Plantation and its lovely gardens. Later, continue to Natchez, a beautiful town that captures the grace and elegance of the old south with its many antebellum mansions. A special treat is in store for you this evening - a traditional southern dinner at the famous Carriage House restaurant.
