| 1 | Arrive Washington D.C. (2) Arrive in Washington D.C. by 5.00pm. Your Tour Director will be in the lobby of the hotel at 5.30pm to welcome you. Tonight, meet your fellow travelers for a welcome drink hosted by our Tour Director. |
| 2 | Washington D.C. sightseeing Our morning tour includes views of the U.S. Capitol Building, Arlington National Cemetery, the Library of Congress and parts of the Smithsonian Institution. We also see the famous Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, and the Washington Monument. Plus, our guide will take us past the White House (if possible) and to the Ford Theatre. Your evening is at leisure, why not try out one of Georgetown's fine eateries? (AB) |
| 3 | Washington-Mount Vernon-Yorktown-Williamsburg Our day begins with a visit to the home of George Washington at Mount Vernon. From here we continue to Yorktown, where the American Revolution was brought to a conclusion. We will recount the final days at the Yorktown Victory Center where we see a short film followed by exhibits and costumed interpreters. This evening, we will enjoy a special Virginia Colonial dinner in Williamsburg. (AB) (HD) |
| 4 | Jamestown sightseeing - Colonial Williamsburg Today we venture out to Jamestown, home of the first permanent English settlement in the New World. On our return you have the remainder of the day to enjoy the sights of Colonial Williamsburg. Step back into the 18th century as you stroll along the Duke of Gloucester Street. Period costumes adorn many of the townspeople, who populate the faithfully restored shops, taverns and homes. (AB) |
| 5 | Williamsburg - Monticello - Shenandoah N.P. After breakfast this morning, our first stop will be in Richmond to visit the Capitol Building and the famous site of St. John's Church where the phrase ^give me liberty or give me death^ was shouted out by Patrick Henry. Then we continue to Monticello, the beautiful home of President Jefferson where his many interests are represented. From here we travel into Shenandoah National Park where we follow the lovely Skyline Drive to our hotel for our overnight stay. This evening, we dine at our hotel. (AB D) |
| 6 | Shenandoah - Gettysburg We wake up to the scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which we will see on our morning drive. We'll pass through Harper's Ferry, where the Shenandoah and the Potomac Rivers meet. Then it's on to Gettysburg, where we can stand in the very spot where Lincoln delivered his memorable 1863 Gettysburg Address. Later, this afternoon, we tour the farm of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Tonight, we enjoy dinner at our hotel. (AB D) |
| 7 | Gettysburg-Pennsylvania Dutch Country-Valley Forge This morning we tour Gettysburg National Military Park with an expert guide. Then it's off to the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country. We'll have time to explore a bit, perhaps stop for a look at a colorful quilt. Here we see the rich farmlands of the Amish who have chosen a simpler way of life based on their traditions. From here we take the road towards Valley Forge for the night. On our final evening together, we will enjoy dinner at Lily Langtry's Dinner Theatre. (AB) (HD) |
| 8 | Valley Forge - Philadelphia - Depart Washington DC This morning we make our way to Philadelphia and begin our sightseeing tour with a visit to Congress Hall, see the Liberty Bell and stop at Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Later, we continue to our final destination, Washington D.C. Here we will make stops at Ronald Reagan National and Dulles Airport as well as Capital Hilton Hotel.
