The hotel & property on the whole were quite good - lots of different places to swim, relax etc. The beach & its facilities were fine. The food however, left something to be desired, primarily because most of it was never hot. Cold scrambled eggs first thing in the morning are a dreadful way to begin your day! The smoothies for breakfast were lovely, on the other hand. My greatest criticism lies in the appearance of a gazzilion college students who showed up in spring break! We really were upset. We would have easily come another week. Why were we not told this at the time of booking?

It was an amazing 4 days trip to Melia resort. Every staff member were not only courteous but very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean, all the amenities and services were flawless. All the restaurants were great specially the market place. The pools were clean and were great for kids and all family members. The beach were clean and spectacular to swim or for walk. I will definitely will come again and will highly recommend to my friends and family. Thank you for such a great experience.

The Melia Nassau was as advertised and more. Not only did they deliver on food quality, white sandy beach, numerous pools and prompt courteous service it was all meticulously clean and staffed by courteous friendly and efficient people who took time to talk to us personally. The restaurants on site continued the wonderful service and friendliness and the food served was outstanding for a four star resort. We supplemented our experience at the Melia by touring the Atlantis and the three great properties adjacent to the Melia on Cable Beach called Baha Mar. The turtle exhibit and flamingos were absolutely enjoyable and quite unique. We toured the casino and supplemented our dining at Fi Lia restaurant. I recommend the seafood stew. The resort made sure there was lots of towels for beach and pools and that there were plenty of activities planned for all ages.The transfers from and to the airport were smooth and timely. We flew West Jet from Ottawa and despite a weather delay on return airport staff and plane crew couldn’t have been more courteous and helpful. We plan to return next year.

Clean rooms with great service. The food was really good and so was the choice of restaurants...the buffet was really well stocked and fresh. Great staff and the ground were kept very tidy. This is an excellent resort for the cost.

Our family spent one week here in February and had a great time! The beach was beautiful! We really enjoyed taking long walks down it. The food was great at the buffet, many different choices, so the kids always ate well. The pool area was great for the kids! The staff was helpful and friendly. Only downfalls about the resort would be having to ask for water and mini fridge restocking. Most days they forgot to do our room. Our room was a walk out on the main floor. It was spacious enough for us, even with the cot between the two beds. It was however, very dated. Pretty sure it was the original hotel. They should renovate this area. Definitely get rid of the carpet in the hallways! All and all, a great vacation. Close bus ride to the airport, downtown area and even paradise island. We will visit again!

Hotel was well maintained. Food was delicious. A la carte restaurants were superb. Drinks were plentiful. Service was great. Room was clean and spacious. Beach was incredible! Always managed to find a lounger on the beach or by the pool. I will definitely be returning to the Melia again! Loved it.

This hotel went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. This resort is super clean, friendly staff, beautiful beach, great swim up bar. This is a picture perfect view every day! I would go back tomorrow if i could!

Just got back had a great week wish we stayed longer. Buffet had lots of choices and food was always great. Beach was one of a kind clean and pictures' view while relaxing in a lounge. From check in to check out staff was always friendly and happy. Frederick from the pool bar was always a blast to hang out with. Rooms clean daily they actually change the sheets and pillow cases as we walked in and seen for ourselves. Beautiful boardwalk along the beach for those who like longs walks be sure to check out the baha mar walking distance fir anyone. Cant wait to go back next year!

This was my second time staying at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort, and it won't be my last. The beach is gorgeous, staff are friendly and helpful, food was great. I requested a ground floor walkout, and was quickly accommodated. The only "complaint" would be that they need something more to do at night, as there isn't a dance club or anything like that. Overall, perfect for a quick getaway.

Very nice resort with friendly and courteous staff. The restaurants were nice and exquisite offering a nice selection of food and drinks. Rooms were clean. The beach, pools , Hot Jacuzzi pool were clean and properly maintained. Music was neither loud, nor dull - just appropriate. We enjoyed our stay at the Melia.

The Melia was a FANTASTIC resort to celebrate our honeymoon and my birthday! Excellent staff, food and drinks! The room was clean; service was consistent and all of our needs were met. Special shoutout to Monique who was the highlight of the trip! She always remembered our drinks and made us feel VIP with personalized, genuine service!

Hotel was clean, service was average, food was as expected. Nothing shocking in either direction (great nor bad). Decent value for money and the location was good. I wasn’t blown away but I was satisfied with my week.

The room was simply decorated but clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Food in the buffet was repetitive and lacking in variety. Hot food was rarely hot enough though. The beach grill had a very limited menu and the food was plain bordering on boring. The a la carte restaurants had excellent food and service, especially Aqua, the Italian restaurant. Drink service on the beach and at the pool was hit or miss. Some days there was no server at all, other days service was sporadic. On one day it was excellent (thanks to Carolyn). The lobby bar was small with limited seating. It would have been nice to have tables with service instead of just a few barstools since all the outdoor bars close down by 6. All the staff was courteous and friendly. There were some renovations going on but impacted very little on our enjoyment. Loved the reusable plastic glasses on the beach, and “no straws” policy. Towels were plentiful and easily exchanged at any time of the day. It was a pleasant holiday.

The hotel was lovely, it was right by the water, the buffet restaurant had lots of selection and good hours, there were activities to do by the water. We had a very relaxing time and really enjoyed the evening events

This was the perfect family get away for my kids and I. The room was nice, staff was very friendly and helpful and there were lots for my boys (age 16 & 14) to do. There were plenty of water accessories available at the beach; snorkeling gear, floaties, water mats, kayaks and water boards. There was also beach volleyball, ping pong and basketball which my kids also enjoyed. We had good food, a wide selection and drinks available pretty much anywhere. I would highly recommend this resort. We found all of the locals very helpful and friendly everywhere we went. Thanks for a great trip. wish It was longer

The ocean, beach sand and water are spectacular. However, the Melia resort a huge let down. Maybe a 3 star. Very very small and really no amenities for kids. Outdated rooms with bare minimum items, no toiletries or 2 towels. No hot water for the first 2 days, you can barely read the H or C for hot or cold water. Only 3-4 restaurants on site which you need to stand in line every morning to make reservations. And if you get in by the time it’s your turn. How is that possible in 2019. The main breakfast buffet is the smallest food area ever and minimal fruit on an island? With no cinnamon, honey or walnuts to ask for every morning, at a resort to not have such basic everyday items. How bizarre? I could go on because the list is that long. The place needs to be shut down and updated because it is stuck in the 90’s. The staff don’t want to be there and don’t care. Serious skeleton front desk staff. My honest opinion,

We enjoyed all aspects of this resort! The food was delicious, the service was top notch and the beach and pool areas were clean and beautiful. The room was in great location of all areas of resort. Would definitely recommend!

Hotel is O.K. Beach is nice, water very clear. Plenty of chairs and towels. Rooms are good, but some "touch -up" is needed; carpet is not really clean properly, no glasses for water in room (only paper cups), but room was quiet. Restaurants: Buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch looks good, but we have some concern about hygiene. They cleaning tables with bleach, without rinse after that. With same bleach-cloth they wipe cutlery before serving on the table. Cutlery they carrying like a fire-wood, in hands instead on some tray. On bread area missing tongs to take a bread, there is more different salads, but no spoon or some tong for serving. Personal is somehow rough, newer smile. So far, in our vacation experience every hotel have some coffee corner with some pastry, but here installed "Starbuck"! Order and pay! Coffee from machine in front of buffet restaurant is very strong, for us unpossible to drink. Different is in all a-la-carte restaurants: service is very good, food very tasty, selection is supper!

Great: - Beach front is very pleasant, and kept clean - Staff is very friendly and helpful Good: - Buffet offering is above average, buffet food is good - Clean rooms and washroom, maid service excellent Average: - Room and bed is average. Uncomfortable mattress Bad: - Grounds are not clean. The grass is littered with cigarette butts - Beach chair area is also covered in cigarette butts - Small beach means too many clients for chairs, and staff do not manage the area, leaving people to "reserve" spots, I don't want to deal with cupidity while on vacation - A La Carte restaurants are not good. There are only 3, and all 3 are average at best, which was very dissapointing - Reservation required for A La Carte, the hours are limited, and most problematic, there are too few tables for the number of guests. Lineup everyday to book a diner takes an hour. Not relaxing - Shower and washroom faucet Water smell bad. Sewage odour.

The grounds were clean and landscaped beautifully. Beach clean, staff wonderfull, happy and willing to help at all times. The entertainment was good. The food was excrllent in the buffet and restaurants. Loved the location Cable beach. We went downtown via local bus and loved the ride of 20 minutes. The locals help you allot.😍🤗

Excellent Food, clean resort, Beach was nice with crystal clear water and very few waves even on windy days. Pools were beautiful and service was great at bars and restaurants, you had to ask for most things like drinks or ketchup etc. but once asked for it came promptly. There are a few parts of resort that are showing some age but over all a great experience.

The furnitures were dated and the night life was not really attractive! The hotel has really modern and beautiful environment but as I said the furniture are really dated. The was good specially at restaurants but it is hard to reserve specially for the first day. The beach was perfect. Some waitresses are very impolite some are really good. All in all it was not bad! 3 star!

Beautiful beach. Beautiful resort. Ocean view = 5th floor to 9th floor room, we got the 5th floor. :/ Food in general is good, something for everyone. Starbucks on site, reasonable resort level prices for Starbucks. (There is free coffee at the main dining restaurant) Good children's pool with beach entry. Beach is nice, slightly above average for Caribbean islands. Free travel to nearby luxury island - don't fall for people trying to sell you a boat trip. Room had wet carpet when we arrived, not sure what that was about. We let it dry and didn't complain. Bring cash to tip, while not necessary, tipping will get you a smile with service. Travel to airport included. Can walk along beach to Baha Mar if casinos are your thing or want to try different restaurants.

The hotel is elegant and has all the amenities one would expect at a world class four star property. I he rooms are well appointed and th ocean views are spectacular. All rooms have balconies. The adult swim up bar pool is a happy place with a DJ that keeps everything moving to great beats. For the kids there is a kids club and a pool for families. The night shows are well done and appeal to everyone. The water sport are amazing. Canoes, kayaks are complimentary and wave runners are available 100 feet along the beach. My daughter and I loved the SeaDoos and raced over surf and visited two other islands. Onsite Majestic tours has an array of trips off site and the biggest hit is swimming with the pigs and sharks in Exuma. This is a vacation for all when her your single, a couple or a family. Whether you're 8 or 80. It's better in the Bahamas!

I went to this resort as it's one of the few all inclusives in the Bahamas. There was a good variety of restaurants, with decent food, and the beach was GORGEOUS. My 2yr old loved the kiddie pool. It's a solid 4-star!

It was a 15 min shuttle ride to the hotel from the airport. We took Sunwing and had no issues. Check in was straight forward. Note, they will take, $200 deposit on a credit card and I think they made copies of our passports (took them to the back and then came back). Our room was ready at 11am (bonus). All rooms face the ocean we were on the 5th floor and our king bed room was great. The toiletries were a decent size and replenished daily, the mini bar and water were included and restocked daily (Heineken and they even put some chip snacks), coffee maker, better than average hair dryer too. Room was always cleaned and was clean, modern, and kept up. To go in the elevator to your room you have to scan your card. Pillows were too soft for my liking, but my son loved them. WiFi was FREE in the room, all over the property, at the beach, at the gym etc. What a great bonus! The lobby area smelled fresh every morning (bleach clean), the property isn't as big as other resorts in the caribbean, but I guess it's because Bahamas is smaller? Not complaining. There was an adult pool, kids pool, two hot tubs near the beach. Lots of chairs and shaded areas. No one bothering you to pay to move your chairs. Water activities included are stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. All equipment was in good condition. Their beach water area was roped off which I quite liked. The beach was white sand, minimal seaweed, water was a little cold, but fine after entering. The food was amazing! Ok, they have the main buffet area on the first/ground floor and was not bad for breakfast. The usual stuff, good quality fruit, smoothies made on the spot, yogurts etc. The Beach Grill was great for lunch. They take your order so no risk of buffet stuff sitting out too long. I tried the ceviche and mahi mahi fish - amazing! Third best ceviche I've ever had (first is mine of course, second in Galapagos, Ecuador). They have 5 a la carte restaurants. You were allowed to book one for each night you were there (unlike some resorts that limit you to 2 per week in other parts of the caribbean|). We did the steakhouse (the only one that was extra), my son had the steak and said it was great, I had the fish - a bit overcooked and the mac and cheese was tasteless. The italian place was amazing. I had the fettucini and my son had the margherita pizza and it was really delicious. The mexican place was better than I expected. Again, another great ceviche (different from the grill place) and I had the fish. It was much better cooked. They gave us some guag and chips an my son had quesadillas and they were great as well. On the last day we tried the lobby resto EstaVida that serves tapas. It was alright, great ambiance on the nights. The drinks were great. They had premium brands to choose from. The pool bar even had PAPER straws. With all the plastic straw issues, I thought that was an amazing statement to make to your clients. They had ping pong, basketball, and some pool side quizes. In the lobby area next to the Starbucks (yes they have a starbucks - I think it's extra charges) they have a huge connect four, jenga, and board games. The gym was the best to date from all the places I have been to in the caribbean. Modern equipment, good size, many machines. Eliptical trainers, tred mills, arm and leg machines, all weight sizes, TVs, towels, fruit water, yoga mats, etc. It's on the far SE area of the hotel (on first floor - which is kind of their basement area). It's in a secluded area, but there is a phone and a rep came in to check about each hour. There are shops in the lobby area too. Overall, I would recommend this to friends and family and will be back. My picky son liked it the best out of all the times we have done AI too - probably for the wifi. The condition of the hotel is american standards. It doesn't resemble the usual run down hotels we have all experienced no doubt. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A true 4 star property.

Staff were very friendly however we were always seated late at the restaurants even with reservations. Rooms and the resort was very clean. limited selection for food both at the restaurants and buffet. Overall, nice place to relax

We did a quick Friday-Monday trip. The hotel was exactly as expected. There is construction going on but it by no means has a negative impact on your stay. The beach was gorgeous, daily entertainment was great! We went into downtown one day (very expensive). The bus is super cheap to get you there. The food is decent, you definitely won’t starve. Only thing we would change...wish we we had of booked a longer stay!

Overall this hotel was okay. The room was clean and nice looking. Most of the workers were friendly and helpful. I’ve been to other places and I find that the entertainment at this resort needs some upgrading. This resort lacked in the entertainment department. The food was good but I was a little worried when it came to the lady making the chicken and how she would use the same tongs for the uncooked chicken, cooked chicken and pasta. Someone could really get sick with this. However I did love the beach.

It was our first all inclusive experience and it turned out to be fantastic!. We were bit worried about having infant during our stay but our every needs were met and we will definately go back here! Also I liked the fact that there was no hassle at getting excursion planned out on the spot as the system established here is pretty straight forward and tour agent was always on site at resort as well

My experience at the Melia was a positive one. The beaches were amazing.The staff were all very accommodating, helpful and eager to help. A shout out goes to the bartenders and wait staff at the Wet Bar. They were amazing. The grounds were kept clean. They’re was construction on site but this did not interrupt anything. The food was good and we enjoyed all the speciality restaurants at the hotel. Great holiday!!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely four day getaway to this resort. We loved everything about it. Beach and ocean were amazing. Can’t wait to return to the Bahamas and this resort! The staff were very lovely. The restaurants, food and grounds were amazing. Thanks!!

Enjoyable stay, amazing beach, great staff, food and drinks. Yes, there is some renovation work happening, but that did not affect my stay. Just wish night activities and entertainment would go past 12 p.m. - was a bit disappointed by that. Hope to be back soon!

Enjoyed our vacation at the Melia great resort everything is close and beach is beautiful needs alittle more night entertainment. Staff is very friendly. Resort is very clean and has great food. Mexican restaurant was amazing food buffet also has great variety everyday. Mini fridge in the room is always restocked and rooms are nice. Resort should have activities on the beach to keep people entertained.

The hotel was lovely... the people here are really friendly and provided an excellent tour. You can tell how proud the Bahamian are of their country. The beach was beautiful and there were many activities provided! My family ended up staying at the beach for 4-5 hours. It’s clear and beautiful! I hope to come back and visit.

This hotel was disgusting. The service was as trash. Food was disgusting. Not worth a penny. The only good thing was the beach the rest of the place was disgusting. We left the hotel hungry tired and annoyed

OVERALL: We had a wonderful stay at the Melia. There are an abundance of positives, however there were a number of items we found frustrating, that given the star rating of the hotel we weren't really expecting. Read below! POSITIVES: - Amazing BEACH. Cable beach is beautiful, well-groomed, easily walked, soft-white sand. The beach also has lots of snorkelling within the swim area. - Great EQUIPMENT, chairs & such for use from the resort (e.g. snorkel gear, floats, etc). All right on the beach, along with a volleyball court and bocci ball. - Excellent RESTAURANTS/FOOD. This was definitely our favourite highlight. It is very clear that all the restaurants have been renovated and offer a variety of cuisines. We highly enjoyed every one. The Marketplace (buffet for all meals) also has a wide selection of foods (however, it is mostly the same each day for each meal). - Main facilities - LOBBY area (incl. restaurants) and pool areas were nice. - ACTIVITIES - Seems as though the resort had a good variety of activities for all ages and different themes each day. We didn't get to take advantage of as many as we would have liked (with having an infant with us), but the shows & bands we did catch were good. - RENO CREW - Although there were people there working on exterior renovations everyday, I did not find their work to be disruptive or intrusive in anyway. GOOD & BAD: STAFF - While some of our service was very friendly (restaurant staff, cleaning and some specific staff we would see often), we generally found many of the staff to be discontent. Smiles were sometimes few and far between and some just seemed downright frustrated to be talking to you at all. NEGATIVES: - CHECK-IN was extremely slow and over complicated. We understood it was a Saturday arrival, and therefore busy, but we waited almost 45mins just to get our bands and a map, and then had to come back later to wait another 30mins to get our keys. Not really sure what the hold-up was or how it could be made more efficient? - Attention to DETAILS - We had confirmed a crib three times, including at the first stage of check-in. Unfortunately there was no crib once we got in our room and it took several hours before one was delivered. - ELECTRICAL issues (not sure how much is related to ongoing renovations). Our breaker that controlled our television & fridge went out everyday at least once, and on average took at least an hour to be flipped back on. We had nothing plugged in on that wall. This also would not have usually bothered us, but because we were travelling with our young daughter, we were often back in the room for her naps. - Spotty WI-FI. Again, I usually wouldn't have cared, but they didn't have general computers to use either, and I had a job-related e-mail I was expecting. So either stronger wi-fi or computers to use would have been nice. Also, not sure if it was related, but the reservation system for the restaurants was down almost everyday and we always had to go back. - CARPET in rooms. The rooms are definitely not updated to the standard of other parts of the hotels. And I can confirm, as many other reviews have, that the carpet in the rooms and halls are damp and kind of icky feeling. - Several of the hotel RULES. *Reserving Chairs/CABANAS - This rule often left tons of useful shaded space on the beach empty. We understood the premise of the rule to allow people to go grab food or drinks, but overall we found it frustrating. *SMOKING - The hot tub rules stated no smoking, but the pool & beach areas did not. Including the family pool areas. Several times we felt forces to move because other guests lit up directly beside our child. We were also not the only guests we noticed moving with their children from cigars and cigarettes being smoked. While we understood these were public places, we would have greatly appreciated there being better designated areas (not only because of kids, but also just for those who also do not smoke). - SEPTIC TANK Cleaning - This one was a surprise! Middle of the day (11am), directly beside the family pool and one of the hot tubs, a truck arrived and began emptying the septic for one of the bathrooms. Absolutely a necessary thing to do...but not at this time and for the length of time it took (over 25mins). Ourselves, plus at least 2/3 of the other guests in the area were forced to move due to the overwhelming smell. It was quite revolting and ultimately this pushed the hotel from a 4-star to a 3-star for us. - Shortage of MINT - This one is small, but was slightly irritating none the less. Almost everyday they would run out of mint (maybe there is a shortage everywhere?) I just wanted to enjoy a virgin mojito and frequently there was none to be had. Again, small stuff, but maybe worth a mention! I hope people find this review somewhat helpful. As a whole, I would still recommend the Melia and my husband and I both agree that as their renovations continue some what we didn't appreciate will probably improve! There are definitely some sticky points here and there though that could be fixed immediately and you may want to consider before booking for the price point of the hotel.

Hotel staff was friendly; Grounds were well maintained; Amenities were varied and easily accessible; Entertainment options each night were interesting and fun. A few of the a la carte restaurant menus contained misprints so there was an issue with ordering allergy friendly food items at dinner time and the Market Buffet staff could not provide a list of ingredients for some main dishes which also limited food options for our family member with food sensitivities/allergies. The view from our room was of the roof of a seemingly abandoned adjacent hotel property; luckily we weren't in the room often.

Great beach. Always a chair available. Check in was confusing and unfriendly None of the hotel amenities were explained. Room service orders for breakfast were lost two days in a row. Phone did not work in room. Food is average on all inclusive side. The paying restaurant Black Angus is fantastic with great food and service. Air conditioning worked well in the room. Bed was comfortable. Did not like the people smoking constantly in the balcony beside us as we could not use our own balcony.

This was our first time to Bahamas, and what a beautiful place! Melia all inclusive was amazing! The staff, the rooms, the food, and of course the entertainment were outstanding! The beach was pristine and we'll be back! Thanks TripCentral! Awesome!

Nice clean resort. Food and service were both great. Beautiful beach and water that you could sit around or take a long walk. Pool was ok, they needed music instead of just putting a Shawn Paul cd and hitting play like they did one day. Rooms need a little renovating to give the resort feel rather than a hotel room as they appeared to be a little outdated. I enjoyed the show around the pool at night as well as the bar/restaurant areas inside. Over all I had a good vacation in which I ate lots of food that never gave me stomach problems and was well cooked.

Nice resort perfect for families as it's on the smaller size... wouldn't recommend for a couple wanting to go for relaxation as it was very busy with alot of families with small children. Food was great and friendly service. Hotel looks like it could use a bit of some TCL as it was looking a bit worn. We were also missing that "resort feeling" as it was basically just a hotel room.

The water and the beach was amazing. One of the best we have seen. Pools seem to be nice but they should try better keeping them clean. The hotel itself is so so. Needs improvements and they are working on it. Beds (doubles) were horrible. Food was ok. Service could be much better easily. Still I recommend depending on price you pay because of its beach and sea.

The resort itself was lovely. It was also huge. Too large for us, but perfect for people without ailments. Breakfast was great in the Buffet, lunch was good in the outside BBQ grill, but the dinner buffet was bad, the Italian restaurant was OK and the Mexican restaurant was good. I would recommend this hotel, but not again for us. Also, check-in time was 3:00pm, but we couldn’t get our room until after 4:00.

The beach is stunning, the view from our room was the most beautiful I have ever had. However, the service at this resort is lacking and the rooms are very outdated. I don't go on vacation to spend time in my room so this really wasn't a huge deal to me. The rooms were cleaned daily and smelled very clean. The housekeeping staff were so friendly and welcoming. The wait staff in all of the restaurants and the bars were the exact opposite of friendly or welcoming. I was very disappointed in their attitude and lack of service. I also was annoyed at the fact that they kept running out of drinks during our stay. And not just specialty drinks, the pool bar ran out of beer and the restaurants ran out of coke and good luck if you wanted a mojito. I forget what dish we ordered at the Japanese restaurant but they ran out of that too. Also, there is no night life, we had to leave the resort for that. I had a wonderful time because of the people I was with, the weather and the gorgeous surroundings.

It was ok.... beach was beautiful!! Rooms where ok nothing special but clean. Hallways where dirty and smelled!!! There was NO service !!! It was horrible. We spoke to a few guests who stayed there and felt the same. Food is ok 👍🏼. Nothing fancy but nothing to complain about just if you asked for something you could tell they did not want to do it and they oftenly forgot about you ! I was disappointed but had good company and sunshine sonit made up for it ! Would not recommend it to anyone.

I was actually very disappointed. What I was most disappointed about was the lack of customer service and organization. Every single day the bars ran out of items early in the day; mint leaves, pre made pina colada, water, beer...who runs out of beer?!! The food was VERY limited, about 20 choices at the buffet. The a la cart restaurants can only be booked two days ahead, service was EXTREMELY slow and served without a smile, and the food was very very dry. The hotel itself seemed runned down and had no character. The pool was dirty. The view was beautiful and the beach was absolutely fantastic though!!

We had been watching different hotel prices for awhile, and the Melia dropped to 2200 per person, we thought this was a steal of a deal and jumped on it. We were wrong. In our opinion this is not a four star hotel. We had a basic room, which was fine, the balcony is small, But the beds were TERRIBLE!! The most uncomfortable bed I have been on in a long time. I have an old mattress in our basement better than that! Our backs are still sore, and were in our twenties. I have never had issues with the food at any resort I have been at, this was the first. I Got food poisining on my second day and spent 10 hours in bed throwing up. The buffet is not good, the food is cold, listen to the bad reviews. By the time you get to your seat the food is luke warm at best. I suggest gettting an omelette in the morning, cause thats the only hot food you get. The other food is good tho, the beach bar, and barbeque were amazing, and we went to the italian restaurant twice and loved it. The pools and beaches are very nice, and can usually find a chair. The staff is mostly really amazing aswell. All in all this resort is ok, but i would never pay that price again for it. for 1500 a person it would be more resonable.

This resort is clean and the rooms as well(loved our room). We had amazing views. The food was “ok”. Service was excellent(Christine was the best, she took care of all of her guests with love and care). She went out of her way to make my birthday a special day. Also,the concierge sent a brithday cake and wine to our room. This made me feel so happy, special and at home. I loved it all and i will definitely go back.

Visited from Jan 4 to Jan 11, 2018. Humongous hotel was almost empty as we found out later. At the reception they announced that they were giving me Free upgrade with the pool view on the second floor. When I checked in the room I was disturbed by loud noise from across the hall. Sounded like heavy machinery used by construction workers. I thought it was temporary, some kind of renovation. But few hours later the noise was still there. The cleaning lady said the construction work should stop after 4 pm, but it did not. I could not believe they gave me a room in that zone and called it an upgrade. I went to the reception and complained. They gave a room in the opposite end of the hotel where was very quiet (same view at the pool). The coffee maker in the room was broken and dirty. I asked for replacement twice, but it did not come until I run into hotel manager and mentioned it. The last two days we had strong winds which filled our room with loud noise that was coming from the balcony because the sliding doors were too loose. I noticed that there was paper jammed between the rails of the door and realized that it was done to reduce the noise. I squeezed more paper to fix the door and it worked. There were only two restaurants indoors that were open. Awful service and food. In Silantro restaurant the neighbouring table had dirty plates all the time we were there. No one bothered to clean it up. I lost appetite, it was so disgusting. Buffet menu was the same every day. Same meat, same vegetables, same salads. Dessert was grocery store level. Hot tub was so dirty you would not want to wet your feet there. Entertainment was so so. You have a feeling that hotel is on the verge of going out of business. I stayed in resorts in Mexico and DR many times and wanted to try something different this time. Trust me, you would get ten times better service and food for the same money in those counties.

Grounds, nicely kept. Restaurants, fair, not enough wait staff/ bus persons to keep up with the not full restaurant. An untrained waiter started well but could not keep up with the four tables he had. Chef came out to help ensure guests were placated and tried to convince us to return. Pools : kept clean with a portable filter system that was hooked up every morning for about 20 min or so to each of the three pools. Staff were attentive to the pool maintenance but a permanent system would be better. the hot tub was very dirty. Pea soup! Building maintenance, this hotel was showing it's age and was not kept up where low traffic was likely such as in the stair wells at the end of the hallways. rusty railings etc. Facility Care: When we first checked in the room did not have anything in the mini bar at all. There was some construction going on, on the first floor directly below our room, so we had to request to be moved to the other side of the hotel. Rooms were cleaned later in the day compared to other hotels in the Caribbean that I've stayed in. The mini bar fridge only ever received one bag of Chips for Three people. Hotel Staff: Very polite. Front desk staff other staff were all polite and were accommodating when asked for any service. Restaurant Staff: In the buffet, a fairly small selection that barely varied from day to day. Beach: nice beach with adequate seating and raked white sand every morning. beutiful turquoise waters . A little on the cool side but not unusual for this area.

What a waste of time and money. We go south at least twice a year and can compare to other resorts. Hotel: old, empty, with construction going all day long. Never had such small soap bars in my life, plus they left only three of those and never added more. I do not use liquid soaps so I had a problem. They are so so cheap with replenishing the bar fridge in the room. For us three they left 2 packages of chips and not every day! Once my husband mentioned to the workers that they left only one package of chips, they brought chips, but only one package! lol We don't eat chips normally, but on that resort I allowed my son to eat it. Restaurants: only one buffet with almost the same food every day. Three other restaurants require reservations, and also have a very limited menu. Asian restaurant was 'eh'. Mexican, oh Mexican... they had only one waiter on our side of the restaurant and he was so busy, so much in hurry, forgetting everything, dropping glasses, etc. Poor waiter. Pools. They are not heated. Only one hot tub and - o boy, they don't change often enough water and water is like 'pea soup' (my husband said). Entertainment. Almost no entertainment. 30 min here and there. No entertainment in pools. I saw once aerobics, but that was it. No cheerful music at the pools, engaging events, etc. Beach. Beach is ok. Probably the best piece of that resort. What a shame that they could't represent the beauty of the Bahamas in a better way. I will make sure that my friends will not go there. Would give 3 stretched stars to the resort, but remembering how much we paid ( ~$1700 per person), will give 2 stars.

Overall we were disappointed in our experience at the Melia. Our room looked nice, but all of the metal elements were rusted. The tub wouldn’t drain (nor could we plug it to give our daughter a bath) and our hot water didn’t work the first day. Our AC unit was broken and blew cold air non-stop. We were frozen. The heaters on the hot tubs and pools weren’t working properly. The concrete around the resort was broken and our daughter tripped over some loose pieces and hurt herself. On the positive side, the food was ok and the staff were lovely. We would not recommend this resort, nor will we return. Poor value for your money.

I really enjoyed my vacation. I had an ocean view room on the first floor with a patio that takes you steps to the beach. The hotel has had some recent renovations which made it look really modern. Loved my room! Only complaint was that some of the staff seemed lazy and I had some stains on sheets and towels.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melia. Staff were all helpful and courteous. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Meals at restaurants were tasty. Grounds were beautiful. Will definitely return. Lots of renovations being done.

We were a group of 16 on a 3 day getaway. The 2 al la Carter restaurants (Cilantro & Nikki) we went to accommodated us amazing. The staff were professional and fun. The beach was small but lovely white sand with turquoise water. The bars and buffet offered a generous enough selection (for an all inclusive) and it was very easy to hop on a local Jitney and visit downtown. A great, reasonably priced getaway with comfy rooms!

It was good my stay at the Melia. It was too much noise cause by the construction or re-construction of the swimming pool and some rooms. Nice food and nice beach. Main swimming pool under re-construction.

The Pool was filthy and slimy the 1st day we were there and closed the next day for cleaning......Not sure how it was ever allowed to get that disgusting. There was a hallway walking down to the pool that there were no working lights. There was also a water leak or flood in the main hallway walking toward the front lobby and it was wet for 3 days while we were there. Not impressed with Resort at all

The beach is pure white sand....the resort is very clean and the atmosphere is safe and friendly. High recommend. The drinks were delicious and its close to downtown. You can take the local bus for $1.25!

We were glad to have the walk out from our room (#107) it was nice to jump in the pool and not have to take an elevator. A bit of noise in the halls at all hours because the conference room was outside our room. The hotel had not one but two local events that were being held at the Melia. They had the Woman of God which hosted 300-400 woman from all over the Caribbean. Stayed from Friday to Monday. Very pushy at the buffet and made for long waits. Then there was the political event to vote in a new leader, boy do they like to take over the bar!!! Just wished we had known that this was going to take place at the same time we were there... But it was still Better in the Bahamas!! Staff were amazing!! The restaurants were perfect!! Food was excellent and so fresh. Would recommend this resort to family and friends. We plan to go back!!!

The hotel rooms could definitely use an upgrade and nightly entertainment can be improved but other than that everything was great. This Resort is very close to Baha Mar which is a very nice place but not all inclusive. However, staying at Melia, you can also utilize the pools and casino at Baha Mar. Melia offers a free shuttle service too.

The rooms were spacious. Lobby and surrounding area was clean and nice. The grounds out front is well kept but back around pools not very impressive, pools/Jacuzzi were cloudy need cleaning and full of sand deposits. Hot tub/Jacuzzi jets did not work much, if it does work it was not with much force. A few areas need maintenance attention. Beaches were perfect. Food at buffet was not hot at all some times hot food was quite cold. Ala-cart menu were amazing and satisfying.

This was my second visit to the Melia in 3 years, I have to say I was surprised, in a good way! The food and service were on point! The room with a partial ocean view was spectacular, very clean! The night time entertainment was amazing, special shout out to Francis the DJ!

This hotel was clean, homely and worth the trip. Food, entertainment and staff was very good. Location and transportation to and from airport was great. Public transport to downtown area was efficient.

Food was horrible long lines for buffet. Couldn't use certain pool chairs would never recommend and there was no taxi or shuttles we had to walk to other resorts. Lots of kids even in the adult pool. Music was so so was like I kids iPod that went on

Some staff were rude, headphones we left in our room when we checked out - weren't returned to the lost and found, pools were used by local children who were there for a track meet with no supervision. Not impressed!

This was our second time going to the Melia Resort in 3 months. We first visited the resort in February 2017 with a large group of friends. At this time, we were very pleased with the resort, grounds, food and our room. We ended up going back just this past week with our friends and we both brought our children. We wanted to share our experience with them. This was the first time we had taken a family vacation in over 10 years. While the food and resort itself was still good, we had an issue with a cockroach in my son's room and after speaking to the front desk about this, I was assured they would investigate and advise of what they would do to compensate for this inconvenience. I had to keep going down to the front desk to find out what was going on with the situation. I was advised they removed the cockroach but the Maintenance Manager was always in a meeting or busy with a customer and could not talk to me. We were there 4 days and the trip cost us over $7800 plus the incidentals we required to take this trip. Needles to say, not getting a call or the opportunity to speak with the manager and thus be compensated for this did not sit well with me or my family. My family has expressed disdain in going back to this resort. Not a good first impression to my children. Also, two of the boys with us were just sitting at the Adult pool listening to music, not doing anything and were asked to leave the area. While I appreciate this is an adult pool, there wasn't any events going on at the time and no music was even playing. It was near the end of the day and there wasn't a lot of people around. Then, not even an hour later, I personally saw the Lifeguard take a small child from the family pool who was unattended to the Adult pool where his parents were. I would think if children aren't allowed at the adult pool, it should be consistent for all children. The two boys asked to leave were 15 years of age, not 5 as the little boy escorted by the Lifeguard. I am still hoping someone will not just read this, but respond and perhaps rectify this. I am not happy at all that we were not considered important enough to be compensated, especially when we were just there in February for a week. I will look at other resorts for future family vacations, which is a sin because we did enjoy the Melia before this trip.

Rooms clean, beach and pools good, good food, pool bar service slow unless you give tips, I like to tip for good service not to get it! Nice walkable beach. New casino next door if you like that, very nice high end building.

My husband and I,and our adult kids, recently stayed at the Melia Nassau Resort. Also along for the vacation was my brother-in-law, his wife and nine year-old daughter ( eleven of us in all). Every one of us had a fantastic time! The resort has beautiful grounds with three pools, two hot-tubs and lovely fountains and flowers. Everything was nice and clean, including all six rooms. The staff were all very kind and accommodating and provided us with everything we needed. Entertainment was great! A show every night with good dancers and fantastic singers. After that was a DJ for the partiers. Food was plentiful and very, very good. Even when all eleven of us sat down together. We will definitely be returning!

This resort was great. It was clean, the food was excellent and service great. The only complaint was the long line for checkins when arriving. If you want anything extra a small tip and a note and they will leave more than enough

We loved the resort so much that we went last year and again this year. The Melia has a huge property and the beach is beautiful. We stayed at The Level both times we went and we enjoyed ourselves. The staff that we got to know went out of their way to make our experience a memorable one.

We had a great three day week end stay ,hotel was clean and food was good. Other than checking in seemed to be very slow with only one customer service working at the time. The shows put on at night were excellent and the drinks were great. Staff were all good

Beautiful well kept resort. Staff always very friendly and helpful. The alacarte restaurants were very good with delicious food and great service. Room was updated and very clean. Beach was amazing.

This is our second time going to this resort and we will be back again later this year. I love the beach, pools and food. The rooms are a little dated and could use some updating but we don't spend a lot of time in our room - so it's not a big deal to us. It's a quick 15 minute bus ride from the airport, free wi-fi throughout the entire resort and reservations for the a la carte restaurants are easy to make. We will definitely be back!

The resort was lovely, great restaurants and amazing food. The beach was fantastic, clean and breath taking. The staff had issues smiling, they usually seemed unhappy to be there, no matter what time of day. The room was clean and comfortable, however our tub didn't work and they placed us far from our party of 10.

The grounds were very well kept and clean. Many pools with beautiful waterfalls was a nice touch. The Food was awesome. The only complaint I would have is there was some construction noise coming from the far side of the building but u could hear it while walking on beach. The food at Buffet in morning wasn't always hot either but was still warm enough.

The hotel lobby and bar area is really nice. The hotel rooms were clean, food was good and fresh and it was easy to get to the beach. Hotel is convenient to Airport and had everything we were looking for in a quick getaway

We liked the food and the pools. The beach is absolutely beautiful!!! The bahamas is truly a beautiful island! Friendly staff. Nice hotel, could use a little updating in the rooms, but overall, very nice. Love the restaurants they are very nice and modern looking. The service was within reason. We didn't have to wait long. The buffet was really good. They had a large variety of food and opened late. Loved that there was always something to do and great entertainment during the day and night. It's a kid friendly resort. Could use a children's Waterpark or splash pad. Our kids loved or there!

Hotel was okay. Beach and pools were beautiful. Lots of things to do. Buffet restaurants were okay - food was luke warm at best. The al a carte restaurants were fabulous. Would go back for the beach!!!!

The only drawback was lack of organized evening entertainment and proper advertisement for any evening events, and because Cable Beach is a little out of the way at least a 15 minute car ride to downtown but still a great relaxing time.

We found the resort to be friendly, clean, lovely grounds and the beach just fabulous! The only thing that annoyed us was the roped off area on the beach for the "level" guests. There was no one there so we sat down and were ushered off by security. It was embarrassing and left us with a feeling of being a lower class. We sat there not knowing it was a specially reserved area. That's a bit much don't you think? Anyways, overall, I'd recommend this resort. The food and the bar service was great!

The resort was clean, well kept and large! The staff and service was amazing. The Melia staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay s memorable one. The location is amazing and there are a few pools as well as a hot tub plus the beautiful clean, sandy beach. We stayed in The Level and we had an ocean view- it was spectacular!

Service was exceptional.Rooms were great.The facility could upgrade its food-menu The property could re-vitalize its nightly entertainment, especially New Years, to draw revelers. Not sure what happened to the Casino operations on the property.

I had an amazing experience at this resort! Friendly staff, a variety of tasty food and awesome beaches. I would certainly recommend this hotel to my friends. The weather was also excellent at that time during the winter holidays.

I don't typically write reviews, but I thought this hotel deserved one. We got exactly what we paid for and had a great time for a great price from Tripcentral. We would stay at this hotel again if we got a good deal.

Overall the resort is nice. The staff are friendly. The food is really good for an all inclusive, the a-la-carte restaurants I recommend to try. My favourite is the Italian restaurant even though the decor is dated. Also love the beach although I could do without the vendors. What needs improvement most of all though are the rooms

Overall the hotel was fine but unless you upgraded to the level you are required to sit on the side of the beach with very little shelter. The side of the beach with the thatch huts for shelter were off limits to all guests except those upgraded to level service. It is nice to sit in the warm air but sitting in the direct sun is not fun.

This is our second time at the Melia Resort in Nassau. We thoroughly enjoy our stay as the Staff was amazing very friendly and very accommodating Grounds are lovely a beautiful beach and close to shopping, gambling.

As a healthy eater I always find all inclusive resorts to be something I have done and will not try again, however this particular time I must admit from the green cleanse breakfast drink to the fresh fish and greens I was in my glory. If you are a vegetarian and love to eat lush healthy greens with numerous lentils and fruit options than you will be more than impressed with the options they had available within the buffet and menu's at the various exceptional on site restaurants. I cannot say enough about the food at this resort, everything was always fresh greens were never yellow (a pet peeve of mine) and the drinks are very generous. The staff was a little more quiet than your typical island but I have to say it was also a nice change. This hotel and location is perfect, you have a gorgeous white sandy beach right outside your patio door with miles to walk along the ocean. There is a 10 minute cab ride into town for $15.00 USD or walk to the lobby down the front steps and catch the city bus which drops you right in the center of downtown for $2.00 USD per person. This was our fist time to Bahamas and I have to say I will definitely be coming back it was fantastic!

Gorgeous beach, but lacking umbrellas. Beautiful grounds. Clean rooms, but had to ask for change of mattress and providing hair dryer and soap. Good food in restaurants but not so good in self service "Market". Cheerful staff but management could be improved. Lack of orientation information on arrival.

We were only there for 4 days. They have a beautiful lobby and the rooms were very nice. Our lunch and breakfast buffets were fantastic but the a la carte left a bit to be desired. We found some of the staff to be grumpy and seemed unhappy to be working. The pool bar could really use a face lift and the hot tub was sub standard. The beach was beautiful. We met a lot of great people there and we had a great time but not sure if we would make it back to this particular resort.

Disappointing pool and hot tub. Staff not very accommodating or friendly. Food was good and le a carte's were somewhat good but the staff booking them were not! Beach was nice. Rooms were standard and beds were comfy.

Hotel was very clean but a little too large for what I enjoy. There should have been entertainment besides a DJ. The staff could also have a work shop on being polite ! Trying to get just a fresh bottle of water was a problem for the staff. The hotel seemed to be more interested in the corporate workers staying there then the all inclusive guests.
