    Nassau Vacations

Nassau, the capital city and commercial centre of Bahamas, is located on the island of New Providence. Nassau vacations give tourists an opportunity to explore rich colonial history and pirate history, in a sense, as bankers and financiers maintain Nassau as a shelter. Nassau vacations appeal to a variety of travellers, including singles, couples, and families. Those who enjoy casino action, golfing, a quick getaway, and top quality sun and sand will definitely appreciate a Nassau holiday. If nightlife is a priority, casinos and nightclubs located at major resort hotels will certainly provide adequate entertainment. Nassau vacations also offer visitors plenty of opportunities to do some serious shopping, with upscale stores available on Bay Street, an interesting straw market, duty free shopping, and local crafts and conch shells for sale. Good shopping opportunities are also offered at the cruise ship port. For the sporting adventurer, deep sea fishing, parasailing, water skiing, and cricket, are available, to name a few. For those wishing to explore the wonders beneath the clear Caribbean waters, Nassau offers good snorkelling and scuba. Golfing is also available to suit a variety of skill levels.

Getting Around: Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), the main point of access to the Bahamas, is located just 16 km outside of Nassau. Transportation options include taxis, bus, scooters, and horse and buggy – it is easy to get around. In the British tradition, driving is on the left side of roadways, and city congestion may inspire tourists to consider exploring on foot. For those interested in visiting Paradise Island, boat transportation is available or guests may travel by car along the bridge.

Where to Stay: The Atlantis is outstanding and truly unique for the Caribbean. Otherwise, Nassau offers a variety of hotels, including a mix of high and low-rise like Breezes Bahamas and Wyndham Nassau. Hotels may be all-inclusive, have breakfast plans, or include no meals, providing great choice for those who visit.

Weather: Average temperatures during prime seasons range from 21C and 27C, with summer high temperatures climbing to 32C. Winter low temperatures rarely dip below 15C at night.

Attractions: All-inclusive Nassau vacations provide a great variety of points of interest, including historical, natural, and modern attractions. The Atlantis, a Las Vegas style hotel, is a wonderful modern attraction that most visitors to Nassau admire. Be sure to take a tour of Fort Charlotte, an outstanding historical fort designed to protect Nassau from invaders, built in 1789 by Lord Dunmore. A 40 minute boat ride to Blue Lagoon is also recommended for the pop culture buff, to see where the television show, Gilligan's Island was made. Not to be overshadowed, the Nassau vacation beaches, including Cable Beach, are outstanding.

Nassau is a bustling little town that is well worth exploring. What are you waiting for? Book today!
