I recently stayed at Sandals Bahamas resort want to share some feed back. First and foremost, the primary reason for my visit was to celebrate my 25 wedding anniversary's, which I had communicated this in advance with our booking agent, However, upon my arrival, I was informed that my request had not been received. It was only after showing the email from my travel agent that the staff acknowledged the oversight. I was puzzled as to why requests are not properly communicated to the resort, especially when we witness other rooms had “Happy anniversary” and happy birthday” signs on their doors. I also requested an updated room but was given an outdated one. I was told that they were not sure if they could change my room next day and that I had to check back. When I did so, I was informed that they couldn’t change my room until Monday. By that time I decided to forgo the offer, as I did not want to spend another day packing and unpacking. On the third day of my stay, I received a bottle of wine and a card wishing me and my husband a happy anniversary. While I appreciated the gesture, it felt quite impersonal, as the wine was already in the room . A bucket of ice with a bottle of champagne would have been a more thoughtful touch. Moreover, the elevators in our building (west Bay Village) were not operating properly or working at all. our suite was on the 5th floor, and the elevator was not stopping on this floor for the first 3 days of our stay. We either had to go to 6th or 4th floor and use the stairs to get tour floor. This was quite inconvenient and stressful. We’re did let management know about this issue and received a $200.00 USD credit and we appreciated the gesture, but this issue should have been looked after much sooner. I was quite disappointed with the size of the beach.area was very small, and it was not possible to walk on it. There was seaweed in the front of the beach. One day there were some workers removing the seaweed, but they were throwing the seaweed back into the ocean. I believe that this not a solution as the seaweed will get back to shore and prevents us from using that portion of the beach due to seaweed. Additionally, our suite looked outdated. And did not meet my exceptions. I had made several requests when I book my trip three months prior to my departure, but none of them were fulfilled. On a positive note, I must commend the resort’s food, which was amazing. However, there was one night when it took over 2 hours for our food to be served, despite the restaurant not being very busy. When we inquired about the delay, the staff apologized, and we eventually received our meal. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This resort needs updating especially if you r in the West End Tower. The food is good but temperature is always cool. The private island is amazing! For a Sandals resort I was expecting everything to be perfect.. a bit disappointing Tripcentral was well to work with !!

We just spent a week @ Sandals Royal Bahamian May 2024. We had an Absolutely Amazing Time! We stayed in a swim up room on the west side and had nothing but sunshine and Island breeze from when the sun came up until 2 in the afternoon! The Resort itself is kept extremely clean! We felt very safe! It is on a public beach but sandals has security on the beach preventing anyone but Sandals guests on the property! The Resort is a nice size, beach is steps away from rooms! Lots of different food available! They cater to your every need! Thanks for making our stay one we will never forget!! If you want perfect weather this is The Place!! Our flight from Toronto was seamless it couldn’t have been better!! And you must visit Sandals Private Island!! Ken & Michelle

I liked the size (not huge resort, which was nice!). Food was really good and top notch drinks. They did not clean our room, one day,,but not a big deal. Ninety percent of the staff were friendly and made us feel welcoming.we enjoyed our time and just wished we had booked a little longer. We tried the spa (was raining, so we managed to get in). The massages were good. They did push their products, but we declined. Our favourite restaurants were Italian and French. The crepe truck were so good. Overall, a good time.

The hotel was beautiful and well kept. Easy access to restaurants, beach, bars, pools. Very well balanced between the 2 towers. Restaurants were amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and would always say hello when you passed them anywhere on the resort. They were determined to make your stay perfect! Can't say enough about this place. Only complaint is that our room was in the West tower and we expected a room facing the pool or tropical garden and it faced the public access to the beach and a parking lot. First time to the Caribbean and won't be the last to the Bahamas. It was a very clean resort! Didn't really notice any particular Covid protocols other than the cleanliness.

Every resort I've been to has poolside service and beach service, so I figured sandals would be top notch... nothing, not one person going around serving drinks/food, maybe if you had butler service it would be better

- Private Island is super unique and fantastic - food is absolutely fantastic - diving is completely included and was really good. - rooms are lovely and fully stocked with alcohol - pools and hot tubs are wonderful but can be a little chilly

The resort was more contained with everything within walking distance...quiet pool, party pool, restaurants, lobby, rooms and beach. The grounds and beach were pristinely kept, and the staff was friendly. Food was okay, but to be expected for most resort chains. Compared to newer Sandals resort, this one is showing its age a bit and could use some overall updates. Overall, a great vacation!

First time at a Sandals resort but not the first time in the Bahamas. Resort was clean, well kept and the view was spectacular! Water and beaches were perfect. What made the trip memorable was the staff very friendly, attentive without being annoying. Rented a cabana one day to get out of the sun it was very hot! Our cabana attendants - Sandra and Romano were amazing. Anything we wanted they were ready, willing and able to get for us. Food was good, not spectacular but certainly plentiful. All in all it was a great trip that was well needed

Overall the resort is great. The food was very good at all of the restaurants. There is a restaurant on the offshore island that also serves dinner on select nights but isn't well advertised. The menu is full of seafood options including lobster. The quick boat ride over is fun and you can snorkle with turtles, my husband even saw a huge lobster. There are many shaded areas when you need to cool off. The Windsor side of the hotel is newer and the rooms were well appointed. We didn't have a butler but really didn't need one. The mini bar is stocked with whatever you want, all you have to do is ask. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family!

This was our first time staying at a Sandals. The beach and private island were amazing with the swings, rafts, hammocks and snorkeling. The resort was dated in some areas including the crystal restaurant and showed its age compared to newer places. The buffet was lacking especially with fruit but the a la carte dinners were very good. It was very difficult to get reservations and we could not get into the Kimono Restaurant during our 5 day stay there. We found the drinks to be made especially strong and actually had to ask them to dial it back on a couple of occasions. It lacked things like a coffee shop with pastries and things like that to snack on during the day. Our room was a club level oceanview and was adequate but again dated. We spent all of our days on the beach and very much enjoyed ourselves. Other than the piano bar, the evening entertainment was very low key with some singers but no production type shows. We had a great time overall but it was definitely not worth the cost compared to other resorts we have been to and we will not be returning to a Sandals strictly based on what you get for the cost, there are better options.

It's a nice resort , very well maintained. Large pools for everyone to please. All water sport equipments are very well maintained & secured to use them. Only few hours flight & there is paradise. All resort attendant are there to please & help us as much as they can I think there was a problem with the a/c in our bldg. as the a/c was running all the time, the room was cold as well as the main hall. Should have been rectified quickly as it brings a real cost to the co.

My husband and I did a one bedroom villa with butler service for 7 days. We got picked up at the airport with a Rolls Royce which was fun. The property and beach are absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t ask for more. 10 stars for Butlers-Sean, Denver and Carol. There are 3 major areas that can be improved. 1) Check in time - Waiting 2-3 hours to check in is unacceptable. This needs to be fixed . 2) Housekeeping- Leaving room service plates in the hallway overnight? Really? 3) The food at this resort just wasn’t great. Not even the restaurants you needed a reservation for. That being said, we got to relax on our Babymoon which was most essential :)

Just spent 10 days at the Royal Bahamian it was amazing. We had a beachfront walkout with Butler service and I must say it would be hard to travel now without that service. Our butlers Daren, Christopher and Sheldon were great and made a huge impact on our overall experience. These rooms were perfect close to the beach with gorgeous views. Restaurants were very good. Had the lobster at Spices three times. Hoping to go back to this wonderful resort. A special thanks to Julie at Tripcentral.ca for being so helpful and attentive through the whole process.

Always an amazing resort. Food is to die for!! Private island is so beautiful!!! Pools were a bit chilly in January when we went and the Windsor suites could use some updating!! Other than that everything else was perfect!

The hotel was beautiful the service was excellent and the food was great. Our room was very nice and always clean One thing we were very disappointed was that my wife forgot her winter coat in the room and we called after 45 minutes from checking out and they said not there and was nothing left in the room which is not true cause we even left a pair of my sandals there.

We had a wonderful relaxing vacation at Sandals Royal Bahamian. The hotel features English Colonial style, the grounds are immaculate, the beach small but clean with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. An outstanding feature is the Sandals off-shore island which you can get to by free shuttle boat from the dock in less than 10 minutes. The Island is quiet and peaceful and has its own spa, restaurant, and lovely treed walking paths complete with zen gardens. Snorkelling is great there are there are loads of fish and turtles to see. Sandals staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to provide you with what you need. Shout out to Ashanti and Tracy who were awesome. Our room was beautiful, clean and had a view of the ocean. If you use the spa, be aware they add 12.5% tip to the bill automatically which is not disclosed up front. All in all, we cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful resort and will definitely be going back !

Excellent resort. Great service and food was exceptional. Would go again. Lots to do between the pool activities and other water sports. Great snorkeling and you must try the scuba diving. The instructors are very professional.

The hotel was very nice,well kept, clean, great service. Beautiful resort. The beaches were incredible. The restaurants and food were just amazing the only thing we weren't impressed with was the Italian restaurant. The lamb was raw both times they brought it back to us. The sauce tasted like ketchup and was really poorly done. Other than that it was amazing. Maybe the entertainment could have been more versatile and more music played during the day. The staff was very friendly. Amazing resort though 👌

This was our first time visiting a Sandals, and it will surely be difficult to find a comparable vacation place! From check in to check out, were were treated with the best service and it was worth every penny! Already planning our next stay at their new Barbados location.

Another great vacation at Sandals Royal Bahamian. Staff still amazing and private island breath taking as usual. Food gone somewhat down hill and no more daily 'afternoon tea' served. As of January restaurants don't take reservations so difficult to get tables unless go early at 6pm -preferred old way of making reservations. Still great place - although due to changes might try some where else next time

The hotel is very beautiful. Most of the staff are new. The quality of the service is not at the Sandals standard yet but I believe they will get there. The upper management and staff that have years under their belt are well trained. The food, rooms and everything else are all amazing. The pools was cold because the weather is cool there now. If you have any concerns please use the internal website sabdals.blazeloop.com and management will rectify your problem right away. It really works.

The rooms were modern, large and very clean. The gardens were well kept. There was a variety of options for places to relax and ample space any time of day to find your preferred spot. The food is always excellent as is the hospitality.

3 night stay. Friday thru Monday. Check in was slow and a bit over the top. At least 30 mins to get thru process where they try to explain everything. Personal escort to the room where baggage arrived later. Grounds are very nice but the beach is realitively small and not really walkable. Food is acceptable but not anything to write home about. Only real complaint would be that after a Friday arrival and a day at the beach Saturday we returned to our room at 5:00 to find it hadn't been cleaned. Getting ready for dinner 1 HR later a knock at the door to clean the room was not well received. We simply got a few new towels and sent her in the way. Sunday was no better...again we returned to a room that hadn't been touched. Really! Should also note that a Late nite snack plate sat outside our room for 3 days and was still there when we left in Monday . Must say staff are friendly but that is my experience with all Bahamian residents. It was my first sandals experience would try again but not in Nassau.

The hotel itself is beautiful. Everyone is friendly, food is amazing, always pool/beach chairs available. The issue we had was with the butler service. We paid an extra $ 1000.00 to have this service, and we were ignored the entire time. They gave us a cell phone, but they either didn't answer, or the phone was dead. They had to go to their Manager to request a charger for it. We waited several hours for a response from our butlers. Total waste waste waste of money.

The resort was lovely, staff very friendly and the food was amazing. We paid a lot of money for an oceanview which to me wasn't worth it because we only saw a glimpse of it. Very disappointed with that. Room service took a very long time, over an hour each time for a simple order.

I heard a lot about this resort after booking and some of it was true. Beautiful Resort, many of the restaurants fantastic (Kimonos, Gordons), private island vlery beautiful and relaxing. However, wasn't what I fully expected from Sandals - check-in was painful, service at Baccarat very slow, pool bar service also slow and entertainment was geared for over 60 year olds. And pools were freezing cold!! Certainly didn't live up to my expectations.

This really is a great resort. Grounds are small and everything is right there! We had a lovely room with a view of the ocean and pool on the quiet side at Balmoral. The restaurants offered a wide selection of dishes and most were excellent. A lot of the staff are new but they are trying very hard to please! Pools are cool as they have been refilled since the reno, but I'm sure they will heat up soon. The Loop which is a website dedicated to concerns and requests is fantastic. You just email a request and it is done!

We didn't get to stay at Royal Bahamian as they closed down two weeks before we were to go there. We got to rebook at another Sandals. Maybe we will get the chance to go there one day. I can't comment on the resort so I'm not sure how it is.

Had an amazing time staying at the sandals royal Bahamian. The rooms are excellent, clean with unparalleled views of the ocean. The service and food was excellent as well. Would highly recommend this resort!

Everything at this resort is wonderful! We stayed at the Windsor with consierage. Cindy was AMAZING! She booked reservations for us and contacted all the chefs about my allergy. I have a severe allergy to gluten and I had multiple options to choose from at every single restaurant! Even the pizza place by the pool had gluten-free. All the staff were very knowledgable about gluten-free food and extremely helpful. Que at Spices went out of his way everyday to make sure I was taken care of. He made me my own gluten-free pancakes, toast, etc. by request and he even brought me snacks to take back to our room. The food at all the restaurants was unreal. We were never disappointed. So many delicious options .... Especially the sea food. We loved all the activities and music at the Windsor pool! The entertainment staff is amazing. We absolutely loved going over to the private island. Bring snorkel gear so you can swim with the sea turtles! It was my favourite part of the trip. Our hotel room was very clean and the bar refilled everyday. We had a photoshoot and absolutely loved the pictures (expensive but worth it). We had a perfect honeymoon and would recommend Sandles to anyone.

We loved this Sandals resort! The private Island is the best we have ever been to! Having been to 2 other Sandals property and Turks Beaches we absolutely loved every minute of it! Top notch food and drinks! Stayed in a walk out in the Windsor tower very nice room:) Definalty would go back and nice for a 5 day vacation!

Our experience at Sandals Royal Bahamian resort has been very rewarding, great amenities , beautiful beach and above all an exceptional service by all staff working there who go above and beyond every time to satisfy our needs and asks.

Beautiful resort, lovely people, great food. Only complaint would be that some of the guest are giving tips and of course the staff accept (why wouldn't they). My problem with this is that you do pay more for Sandals as EVERYTHING is included, including TIPS. I don't disagree that some staff deserve tips and some don't but as a guest when you see someone tipping and you don't, you feel guilty, and we shouldn't feel guilty because you are paying for the tipping up front. One pool staff (waiter) was paid by a couple and he made sure this couple was looked after - he got them a cabana, towels, drinks as soon as they ran out, nacho's, pizza. This fella did more than a butler would do, he was their PERSONAL butler. I would definitely go back to this resort, and would recommend as I think this may be one of my favorite. Shelley Anne, you are doing a great job at this resort. And Kim Hartlen, thanks again for escorting this group every April, and everything extra you do to make sure we have a fantastic vacation, we wouldn't miss it.

My wife and I stayed in late April in the Royal Bahamian Hotel, which was well aged, both the buildings and the furniture. The hotel is situated in a very small land with many amenities and buildings on top of each other; there is almost no green area to breath. The beach is so small and almost always windy. Most important is that the staff are almost without exception very reluctant to serve and work. It is almost impossible to see any staff smiling. One staff of particular interest is Valeri (the supervisor at the Cay restaurant) who is very nervous and rude, and seems almost ready to attack you physically. My wife has been suffering from bedbug after our return from the vacation. The vacation package was very expensive, and sold as a 5-star hotel but this hotel is most probably the equivalent of a 3-star European beach hotel. If you have not seen a 5-star vacation hotel in Greece, Spain or Turkey, you can accept this hotel as a 5-star; but having enjoyed staying in many 5-star vacation hotels in these Mediterranean countries, I would not accept this vacation package and the hotel as a 5-star vacation package and 5-star vacation hotel. We were misled by the advertisements that the British Royals stayed in this hotel; it turned out to be true but it was almost a century ago! If you cannot enjoy your vacation in a better hotel and insist in buying this vacation package, lower your expectation.

We recently arrived home from a great vacation at Sandals Royal Bahamian. It’s just a short trip from the airport to the resort which is always a nice bonus. The resort itself was beautiful, the gardens and grounds are amazing, food was good to very good, room (Windsor honeymoon grande lux club level) was a good size and We recently arrived home from a great vacation at Sandals Royal Bahamian. The resort itself was beautiful, the gardens and grounds are amazing, food was good to very good, room (Windsor Honeymoon Grande Lux Club Level) was a good size and clean, bathroom was modern and great for us, the balcony was small but fine and view was overall good -- we could see part of the ocean and the swim up pool below us. The pools were both good, we were by the quiet pool mostly but we were at the other pool a couple of times, and found the Playmakers fun and full of energy. Service at the pool bars was usually very good, slow once or twice the first day or two but after that it was great. We always wonder about the thoroughness of cleaning of the drink glasses at the pool bars, maybe more care could be taken there, but we have seen that at all the resorts -- possibly one of few weaker points of Sandals. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We seemed to run into Filius, the resort manager, a lot and he always spoke and was very personable. The island was very nice as it was completely different from the rest of the resort. One of the highlights of the trip was swimming with the turtles off the back side of the island. Restaurant on the island was good for lunch, average for supper. Restaurants -- for supper meals -- we enjoyed all meals at supper time, our favourite restaurant was Baccarat. Both meals there were great, however the sole the first night didn't look or taste the same as the second night, the first night was exceptional, The second night didn't have near as nice a presentation and was not as tasty. The signature beef dish was excellent. Kimonos was very good, we enjoyed the "show" put in by the chef at our table. The Crystal Room was very good. Casanova's was good, the anti pasta bar was great. Gordon's was good, but we were a little disappointed as we expected something exceptional as it had only been available to butler guests until recently. We had heard from other guests that the menu there had really changed and did not offer the high end meals that they used to, ex. King crab legs etc....We didn't eat supper at Cricketers or Spices. Lunch -- we enjoyed the buffets at Spices -- thought the variety each day and the variety from day to day was great. One of the better buffets (lunch) of the resorts we have been at. Quality overall at the lunch buffets was very good. Breakfast -- ate mostly at Spices -- variety and quality very good, Daphne at one of the omelet stations was friendly and made great omelets. We ate at Baccarat twice for breakfast -- first time was a little slow (which we expected) but food was excellent. Second time was our only complaint -- we ordered fruit plates to start and then main breakfast entrees. Because of an allergy in our party they said they would make up the fruit plates special -- which we expected. However after 40 minutes of waiting and no food in sight we asked about our fruit plates. They said they would get them right away, then a couple of minutes later our waiter came over and said they would have to get the fruit at Spices since the fruit plates for Baccarat were all made up and contained kiwi that day. A couple of minutes later our main breakfast entrees came, however they were cold and somewhat soggy -- it looked like they were cooked when the order went in and then set aside till we got our fruit plates, and then someone forgot to get our fruit at Spices. A few minutes later we got our fruit plates, this was about 50 minutes after our order went in. Other waitresses / waiters we found exceptionally good or friendly were: Carleton at Gordon's, and Tamika, and Carlos at Spices. The staff handled our allergy well. We went to see the culinary desk the second day and she already knew about the allergy. It wasn't long before she knew us by name and wanted to make sure she knew where we were eating each night so she could inform the chef. We safely went off the resort most days enjoying morning walks / runs. We walked into Nassau one day, however you could take public transit in as well for $1.25. Evening entertainment was good, we especially enjoyed the one man band and sax player. Overall we really enjoyed the resort, we would rate it in the top three of the Sandals resorts we have been to.

beautiful resort beach is not very big but they have a private island with a big beach on it that their boat goes back and forth to all day food was excellent rooms were excellent staff is very friendly and pools were excellent the resort is not very big but public bus runs right in front of resort and takes you right downtown Nassau for a dollar overall very good spot to vacation and only 10 minute bus ride from airport to resort

Everything from food, service, employees were fantastic. We especially loved the swim up butler suite. Kim Harlen is also amazing travel agent and so happy that we are always a part of her groups!!!!

Friendly and welcoming staff. Great food. Loved the private island and snorkeling with sea turtles. Small resort with all the restaurants and theatre conveniently located. Especially liked dining at Gordons on the Pier and being entertained by the resident barracuda below us in the water.

Hotel was grand, staff fine, grounds wonderful, all the type? not worth it! Disappointing to say the least about the "premium alcohol", no 24 hr bar at ALL! They wouldn't open the bar at the "private beach" until 11:01 am, god forbid 20 people waiting, and staff was slow as heck to accommodate there! ran out of glasses at the bar many times after being opened 20 minutes. Food OK, not fantastic, although breakfast was wonderful, yes, lunch ok, NO good beef, but fruit and vegetables always great. Manager extremely nice, wife from our town in Bolton, nice man, most staff very nice and tried to please, but after reviewing prices, will not go again because it was over-hyped and the RIU was better. Sorry.

Resort and grounds were nice. Food was good. We had butler service but it was not as good as some of the other Sandals we had stayed at. We were expected to carry our own cooler and drinks back and forth every day. Butlers at other resorts did this for you every day. We didn't see the point of the butler if we were doing that ourselves every day. Also they were overbooked for our beachfront room top tier category. We had a noisy parking lot view the first night of 4. Very disappointing.

I have never been to a sandals resort and I will admit that I really didn't know what to expect. With that said, my trip exceeded my expectations in every category. Not only was the resort lovely, pristine and well appointed, the food and personnel at the resort were absolutely 5 stars. The resort and rooms were pristine and the facilities were always clean and well kept. The room was beautiful and well appointed and the housekeeping staff kept the rooms cleaned and ready for our return each day. The beaches, while small, were perfect and well maintained. I would note that we never had a problem getting a chair or umbrella at the beach or pools and towels were plentiful. The food at sandals was exemplary. 9 restaurants and all of them were delicious. I have never experienced such delicious food at an all inclusive. Sports and scuba were included and we took advantage of both. All activities were led by amazing staff who ensured our safety every time. All in all, an exemplary trip. We have already booked for a second trip back.

The only very disappointing feature of the resort was the food and restaurant service. The resort did not compare at all with other similar resorts which hold themselves out as high end. The food was adequate at best.

Wonderful staff, amazing food, great views- overall amazing! The beaches were beautiful and the private island was a wonderful getaway- there were no pushy vendors which was a nice treat. We were not made to wear wristbands so everyone was treated the same.

The Sandals Royal Bahamian did not disappoint us. We had high expectations and they were met and even surpassed. The resort is beautiful, restaurants were excellent and we had no difficulty making reservations to the special restaurants that require them. We enjoyed the private island, snorkelling, sailing, evening entertainment or just sitting by one of the outdoor fire pits with the sound of the waves in the background. Personnel at the Resort is cheerful and always looking out for our best interest. If I had to find one thing on the negative side it would be that the beach extends only in front of the resort so you cannot walk for miles along the beach; the advantage though is that the beach in front of the resort is only for resort guests so the privacy is an asset. There is lots of exploring to do on the private island if you feel you must get away. The resort is a short drive from the airport and a short bus ride to Nassau for a day of shopping if you'd like to go to town. Excellent vacation!

I would call it half a holiday. We landed on a wet runway (tense) then watched 4 days of either wind, cloud or cold eat up our vacation. But when the sun finally came out it was hot, hot, hot. I have never seen water so turquoise but the ocean was just too chilly to enter. Our swimsuits hardly got wet, except for Brian's one brave turn around the pool. So, there was no snorkeling either because that meant getting cold again when the first day of warmth arrived. We did sail, kayak and peddle trike (over-sized tricycle with floating tires) but stopped short of renting a jet ski for $70/half hour. Our boat to the island had 1000 HP so that was exciting enough. Food was good, especially the breakfast buffet, where the smoked salmon, boiled eggs, juicy fresh fruit, grits, cream cheese turnovers and prunes landed on my plate every day. Brian's more of a bacon guy. The only evening entertainment we liked was the piano bar where 8 couples sang their hearts out as big black Dwight hit the keys. Was he good! Boredom was starting to set in by Saturday (the weather) so I insisted we take the #10 bus into Nassau for only $1.25 each (cheapest thing we bought) to explore the straw market (special deal for you darlin'), Bay Street (everything from Gucci to a 125 year-old hat store that hadn't been dusted in 125 years), Anglican church (I wish I had tried the pipe organ) and the harbour where 5 enormous cruise ships were docked. I liked the group of two-wheeled scooters being guided across the street by a guard on a two-wheeled scooter. It looked like a comedy scene from a movie. We were booked for a guided tour the following day to see Fort Charlotte (named after King George lll's wife), the waterfront route (resorts and nice homes), government square (built in 1700's), rum cake factory (white cake soaked in alcohol), 'poor' town (tiny houses), 'rich' town (bigger houses perhaps with a palm tree), T-shirt factory (driver gets an envelope for bringing in the tourists), and back to Sandals for a well-earned marguerita. We dressed up for an evening photo session (to the tune of $57 for 4 shots) but did get one worthy of framing. Pairs of 'butlers' in black tail coats strutted around the resort serving the high-end folk. No worries man; our service was excellent too if you don't count the coffee and dessert coming 5 minutes apart. Hurray! when we found the croquet court, bocci ball, shuffleboard and tennis. Even did billiards before dinner. We tried it all except the karaoke. Brian would not go near that noise. At departure, a steady parade of Rolls Royces and Mercedes picked up folks, some just not fitting the elegant picture with their too casual attire - read 'sloppy'. The staff looked like the celebrities in their spiffy outfits and unique hairdos (wigs on the women) and big gold watches. All in all, a good time had by us both. Photos on request.

The beach is pristine and the food is much better than Mexico or DR. The resort grounds need a facelift but it is clean and the service is fantastic. People are friendly. Snorkeling and boating is included which is nice. Nice wines are additional cost. Best part is it's 2.5 hours away from toronto. Makes for a great place for a getaway.

The Royal Bahamian in the Bahamas was fantastic. The food was top notch. the outside surrondings were well maintained.The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The buildings required a bit of tender loving care but while we were there they were painting and trying to up keep the buildings. Thats efficiency!!

We went for our honeymoon and everything was beautiful. The room were so clean. I could not believe that the staff came to clean the room three times a day. The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious. I have never been to a resort where the food was consistently good at each restaurant.

My husband and I chose Sandals Royal Bahamian as our resort of choice when we decided to get married on the beach. It was our understanding that Sandals resorts are 5 Star with amazing service and luxurious hotels; and for the amount that you pay to stay here our expectations were high. Upon arrival to Sandals Royal Bahamian we were extremely disappointed. The information that is advertised on their websites and marketing material s is very different from what you actually experience. We upgraded and paid extra in order to have the room we selected which was an ocean front view with a private balcony and a fully stocked bar in the room. We were also told that millions of dollars recently went into renovating this part of the resort and they boasted that there was mahogany furniture with marble counter tops etc. What we received was a room you could get at any basic Holiday Inn, we were put in a corner room and did not receive the private balcony we had paid extra for. And to top it all off we looked in the bathroom there was black mold going down the wall. At that point we spoke with management who assured us she would move us to a private balcony room and that we needed to pack our bags and have them ready for 11:00 AM the next morning and to meet her at 1:30 PM to pick up our new room keys. So, the next day we cut our day short to do so. At 1:30 we arrived at the front desk and the manager had done nothing, there was no room move for us at all, even after we spoke with management again we learned she had done absolutely nothing to resolve our concerns. Obviously extremely annoyed that we were lied to and that we wasted our time, we spoke to another manager. We were promised once again that we would be moved to the room we had originally requested. So we went through the whole process over again. We didn’t end up in our new room until 3:00 PM. We get in and they had just moved us to the corner on the other side of the building, with no private balcony and now we had a view of the air conditioning units on the condos next door. At this point I would have rather had the first room; at least I could see the resort, not dirty rooftops! So I rushed downstairs to move back to the old room and they had already given it away. Sick of spending more time speaking to management than enjoying my vacation, we just sucked it up. However, this new room was not cleaned properly or restocked from the last visitors, including the bar which was not replenished (or mini bar for that matter) which we had paid extra for. I requested it via phone call, visit to the front desk and by leaving notes in the room, and it never happened. If we ever needed anything the employees would tell us they would do it and then it would never happen. I also asked that our dinner reservations be switched to our new room number and was told this was done, however every restaurant we went to our reservations were not on the list. I was even yelled at by one hostess who was annoyed that I tried to get into a restaurant without reservations….although I actually did, and had the confirmation paper. It was very disappointing for us that we were completely forgotten about and stuck sub-par rooms in the corners. When we would mention that we had come here to get married, they did not care since there were so many other people there getting married or on their honeymoon. Therefore they were not interested in treating you with any special care whatsoever. The wedding: - We had a wedding planner that we dealt with over the phone who was different from the planner we met on site. The planner on the phone told me that I would have someone there that would help me with anything I needed with my wedding for the whole day. I said we were getting married just the two of us so I would need help tying up my dress and she said I would have someone there to do that for me. She also told me that we would receive a dinner at a specialty restaurant (Gordons on the Pier) the night of our wedding. - When speaking with the onsite planner (who was very nice and just doing her job) had to tell me that if I wanted my dress tied up I had to pay an additional $75.00. And that they do not offer dinners at Gordons unless you pay an additional $140. We were also disappointed to find out that if we wanted our wedding on the dock beside the beach we would have to pay an additional $350. - The nickel and diming was getting ridiculous. At this point I was so disappointed and frustrated with everything that I was in tears…..this is not how you should feel on your wedding at all! Around every corner there was another thing that disappointed me. Sometimes just small things like going to billiard room to find there are only three pool cues, 2 of which were broken, and holes in the walls around the resort that were patched up with paint that doesn’t match the walls. There were times where I was the only person waiting at the bar and it would take 15 minutes to get a drink because the staff was too busy having a good time together. There was actually a moment where a guest got behind the bar and started serving because there wasn’t a staff member in site for well over an hour at the swim up bar! There were also events that were planned that we could take part in and I would show up for them and the playmakers would be nowhere in sight, so I gave up on those. I just feel that Sandals makes a lot of promises and didn’t follow through with any of them. Bahamas was beautiful and we will go back, but I won’t be spending $7,000 at the Royal Bahamian again. I don’t know if this is how all Sandals resorts operate, but as of right now I have a bad taste in my mouth. My family is planning an anniversary trip for my parents and it was going to be at a Sandals Resort and I have since told them to hold off and do some more research first.

Hotel is beautiful but the housekeeping is terrible. Had to ask every day for towels and toiletries. Shampoo and conditioner must be expensive on that island because it is hard to get the staff to provide these basic items. They make your bed and for some unknown reason do not replace towels and as I said toiletries. On some days - even after asking the items never came. Food was the best at Baccarat restaurant but to get a reservation was next to impossible. The good was good at the other places but not what we expected. The pool had 10 floating mats and it was a joke how guests had to hoard it once you got one. It was like winning the lottery if you actually got one. The upkeep of removing dirty glasses and plates was not consistent. Very expensive but not so sure I would drop that kind of money again to go back.

For a 4 day weekend to get away from it all, this was a perfect location. Flight wasn't too long, pick up from the airport was simple and then just a relaxing time - everything is catered for you; food and drinks all terrific. Will definitely come back again

This is our second time there and we had a fantastic time again. The service is friendly and prompt. Food is good as well. If possible try and reserve some restaurants when you first arrive as they fill up quickly. Definitely worth going a couple of times. The beach is phenomenal! Water is always amazing! Also worth going to the private island and checking out that beach for the day.

Too expensive for what it was. I liked couples resorts better. Entire grounds were well maintained but dated. Was likely amazing back in the 80s. Staff nice, but food was weak. No traditional food. Only americanized stuff for the most part.
