We enjoyed our stay very much. Our suite was very nice, bright, comfortable & clean. Restaurants, grocery store, etc are all close by. A nice fresh breakfast buffet included during your stay. You can walk to the beach in minutes or enjoy a 5 minute boat ride to the beach. The employees are very welcoming & always greet you with a smile. We would return ?

The food at breakfast was very poor, I ate better in Cuba The elevator to go to breakfast place which was on 4th floor was broken and they didn’t repair it The housekeeping was impeccable The water in pool was not heated and it was very cold

Great place. Totally above and beyond. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Loved the ferry to the beach. Breakfast was amazing. Pleasantly surprised by the underwater lighting off the front pier that attracted fish in the evening. Will definitely consider a return trip.

We loved the location, near the market place with restaurants and souvenirs. We appreciated so much the complementary boat transports to the beach. The restaurant for breakfast was amazing, clean, beautiful. We really felt as in 4 star hotel. The things we did not like, but not necessarily due to hotel management: no ATM and not all Canadian cards accepted, so it was rather difficult and unsafe to pay everything in cash.

The rooms were nice, however the floors were dirty. They left your feet dirty walking barefoot. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good and had ample selection. The location to the square was close and the square had a wide variety of food options.

The Pelican Bay is an older hotel undergoing significant renovations. Areas previously renovated were very attractive. Our room was next to be done. While there, we found it less than clean. However, because of the wonderful staff, the location of the hotel (within a few minutes' walk to excellent restaurants), and the anticipation of upgraded rooms, we would absolutely return.

This was an excellent choice for a last minute getaway. This was our fourth time to Bahamas but first time to Freeport and we loved it. The location of the hotel was great - convenient to lots of restaurants and beaches. The grounds are clean and staff are helpful. Rooms are a bit dated but clean. The pools are amazing!

Rooms were basic but kept clean and staff were pleasant. Grounds were a delight, many trees and flowering bushes made for great ambiance. The pools were all clean with plenty of chairs and lounges with cushions put out every morning. All in all, it was good.

Wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with Pelican Bay. The hotel is really boutique in nature, 167 rooms and staterooms. Our room was clean and bright with ample balcony however upon seeing the staterooms we decided to upgrade. The staterooms are beautiful with separate bedroom, large double sink bathrooms, kitchenette and lovely living rooms. The balcony was similar in size to our first room and came with Adirondack chairs and ottomans. The facility has 3 pools and a hot tub. Only one pool was heated and the hot tub was not very hot; given the cooler temperatures in February it was not all that conducive to swimming. Temps topped out at around 75f so it was not a hot time in the sun but pleasant. The beaches are spectacular although I preferred Silver Point and Lucayan beach over Taino (more rocks on Taino) and found the temp much warmer on the eastern beaches. (prevailing winds were from the WSW) The locals and staff were very friendly and helpful. Not nearly as many tourists as expected; Grand Bahamas has seen it's tourism heyday and it was much quieter than expected (only busy when the cruise ships are in harbour) Restaurants are plentiful and we did not have a bad meal. Pelican Bay supplied breakfast every morning and it was quite adequate with a wide variety or buffet offerings. The rooms are very clean and well serviced (including a Nespresso coffee maker in each stateroom and a re-supply of pods daily) The hotel is within easy walking distance of the famous Port Lucaya Marketplace; which featured a wide variety of retail ranging from very high end to your local souvenir hawkers. January saw the implementation of VAT (value added tax 7.5% on everything) which made prices increase on everything. However if you showed your passport at the retail stores your purchase was exempt. There is plenty of opportunities to snorkel, dive or dolphin watch and Unexso had a very nice retail outlet for tourists and divers. Finding a Starbucks at the Unexso facility was a extra bonus. Riding the local bus system was a real experience but found little in downtown Freeport of much interest. If you are looking for a very relaxing getaway the Pelican Bay is perfect. If you are looking for hot weather I'd suggest waiting until March or April.

I stayed in this hotel last week of December 2016 ! Everything was very good! The view from the balcony , spacious rooms , swimming pool, jacuzzi,water taxi to Taino Beach ! But the hotel garden is really fabulous ! If heaven exists the way it should be !

The hotel was very enjoyable. Clean, 3 pools were nice and hot tub at end of the day was really nice. The little ferry to the beach was quick and fun and bright you to paradise. The beaches were amazing. We rented bikes for $15 per day from the hotel and discovered more amazing beaches including Banana Bay and Fortuna Beach where we could snorkel off the beach. Water was amazing and sand so fine and white. Wow! People were pretty friendly although the market shopping was high pressure and not pleasant for me. One of the vendors got angry with me as I tried to barter which is what everyone does there so bought almost nothing which is fine. Their loss. The marketplace was really awesome place to walk to for food and just to walk around a bit. We also spent New Year's Eve in the marketplace and was amazing. So fun! Oh and the Fish Fry on Taino Beach. Every Wednesday they have a party and was super fun. Right on the beach, dancing outside with locals, good music. So fun. And one last comment, the Conche ceviche was amazing at Tony Macaroni's.

wow overall this was beyond our expectation the views of the bay and boats are such a relaxing feature to get up to in the morning peaceful and calming. we cant say enough about the service and staff love everyone of them front desk clerks to the house keeping staff whom promptly cleaned our room daily when they say paradise this was it pools very clean and checked daily the food was fantastic cooked to perfection beaches were clean and always something going on excursions are wonderful they really knew how to accommodate everyone especially, the disabled which we highly respected , the security was unbelievable you always felt safe, we felt like family everything was a 2 minute walk from the resort whether you wanted to shop go to the beach or take a beautiful ferry under the sunset to tiano beach your options were always open so much to do the grounds were very clean from the airport to the resort, so impressed with the cleanliness of all the grounds such cheerful people always welcoming you, lounge chair pads removed daily then replaced, the rooms were very large and spacious stocked daily with fresh items ,the drinks are so excellent and refreshing the best of the best,when you remember a lot of staff names as we did from each department of the resort that tells you something ALFONZO,, KALIEB security, SAL front desk.,LIZ our cook for morning breakfast,JENNIFER, from room inspections, our wonderful bartenders from bones bar and lounge swim up pool LEO,,and JORDAY, sabor manor restaurant all staff amazingly work hard to make your stay a memorable one its a home away from home CHARLES CHARLSTON and his DEPUTY, department of police ,this was more then just a hand shake this is a place we call our second home,,with that being said it was our first time to the wonderful PELICAN BAY see you soon ...highly reccomend

the room was a nice surprise. The upgrade to an waterside suite was well worth it. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with a comfy couch, chair, flat screen TV, and desk. The buffet area had 2 coffee makers (1 pods), fridge and microwave, and a quaint copper sink. The separate bedroom had a nice sized closet (no drawers), king bed, and another smaller flat screen. (Got to watch some playoff hockey and see the lovely weather back home. Lol) the bathroom was completely tiled with 2 double sinks and bath. ( the tep. settings need very fine tuning and the water pressure wasn't that great...but it was only a miner issue). Nice balcony with 2 adirondack chairs and foot rests. AND A GREAT VIEW! Watched all manners of boats daily. The resort had 3 pools, and a nice restaurant/bar by 1 pool. There was a quiet pool and the pool with "BONES BAR" and swim up bar. The grounds were immaculate. While relaxing by the pool daily we were asked about the place. Were they condos? Can you stay longer? Are the rooms as nice as the outside? What are the people like? They were impressed. We opted for breakfast included. I would not do this again. For the first few days there was a good selection of hot and cold foods and fruits and pastries. With the exception of the last day this was not the case. Although the staff at the complex was very friendly and helpful the breakfast staff was not. The "Market Place" was adjacent to Pelican Bay. There are many restaurants and bars and a variety for all tastes. We found that the people staying at "Memories" and "Grand Lucayan" seemed th prefer to eat here rather than their resorts. We opted for a couple of the sites to see. On the advice of the front desk we opted for a taxi to take us. Great choice. Very friendly, very informative,and easy to talk to. Adrienne was also a better deal than the tours. We were given a cell phone and could call him whenever we felt like returning. Tours are about 3 hours with 2 hours of driving! The most impressive was Gold Rock beach in the natural reserve. BEAUTIFULLY UNTOUCHED! Having been to the Bahamas in the past I found many things have changed. The people in general are not overly helpful (except for Pelican Bay) and they are slow. We planned on relaxing and not too much more ( a little Casino time ). This was done to perfection. We had a great holiday at Pelican Bay. Definitely choose the suite/waterfront and preferably the 4th floor. And enjoy happy hour at Bones from 5-7! Cheers,

Food is excellent, beach is beautiful, people are very nice. Definitely needs to upgrad the rooms, painting, cleaning, mattress needs to be changed, we did not sleep very well. Same for the bathroom, really should invest to upgrad.

We booked a king size bed suite at Pelican Bay for 7 days. We were very impressed with the space we had--a separate bedroom with a double closet, a kitchenette with a frig, microwave, some utensils,coffee machine, spacious sitting area, also a balcony with a beautiful view. There is a great breakfast included every morning with an omelet of your choice. The staff are very friendly. The special touch is a basket with fruit and muffins left every morning in a slot in your front door. If you are looking for relaxation a place to chill out I would highly recommend staying at the Pelican Bay.
