City Basics

From the Airport: Singapore’s major airport is the Singapore Changi Airport.  Travelers can book transportation to and from the airport from their hotel a day in advance with a surcharge of S$45 by contacting the airport.  A more cost-efficient option is the metro system which is just as efficient.  The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) has a station at the airport and has access to most of Singapore.

Getting Around Singapore: Singapore has a thorough and clean metro system.  The MRT is accommodating to different needs, and is fast, easily accessible, and offers one-time tickets or tourist passes.  Fares are based on distance traveled.  There is also a large bus system that operates until 4am on weekends to accommodate the active nightlife, and taxis are readily available at numerous taxi stands around the city.
