This resort ticks all of my boxes. Very clean, great food, grounds are beautiful, staff are wonderful. Didn't want to come back. This was my third time at this resort. Had a spectacular view of the gulf from our balcony.

My husband and I wanted to go to Mexico for his 50th birthday. I had never used a travel agent before but I did this time and Alisa was so helpful and informative. I gave her a list of wants and she recommended the sun palace. It was exactly what we wanted. The staff were exceptional, especially Juan and Daniella. The food would bring me back again in a heart beat. The whole experience was fantastic.

We just returned from a week at the Moon Palace Sunrise and it was a great week! Rooms were clean, grounds were clean, LOTS of food options. It was easy to get reservations for dinner using their App. Water slides, mini golf, basketball, pickleball, tennis, FlowRider at Sunrise and at the Grand, which is no charge. Buffets were a bit smaller than I expected but there are so many à la cartes, it was never super busy.

The food is amazing, but the facilities are not great. We were to have 3 rooms with either 1 king bed or 2 queen beds, but we had 2 rooms with 2 king bed and the other with one queen bed which was not what we agreed. Also, we stayed in a place called Sombreto and on the 2nd floor. The elevator was did not work throughout our 7 night there and all our luggage's were carried by hand by the staff. We were told the elevator has been down for quite a while. The staff were great and nice. Sometimes, room cleaning does not provide enough towels. The Airconditioning was not cooling even after coming to fix it. Too much emphasis on selling membership. Not a place to go for a 2nd visit.

Grounds beautiful but rooms old and dated and smell mouldy. Lots of mold on the exterior of the property. Staff very kind and beautiful beach. Power tends to go out go out and had to walk baby stroller upstairs after elevator was out. Room did not have ac and after hours of waiting they finally allowed us to move.

We stayed at the Moon Palace Cancun resort fo 5 days and my kids (13, 24, and 25) were active and entertained the whole time. We had a day trip to Playa del Carmen and another day trip to Xenses and Xplore Fuego which were fantastic, and no trouble with transportation to and from the airport and resort to our day trips with reliable taxi service. My kids tried every pool and activity and all the restaurants. Great staff and service, and No complaints from my kids who want to do a repeat of the same vacation.

Luxurious Room with a great view of Gardens and Oceean. Great Bars located everywhere from lobby to beach pools. Great Pool with both party and quieter areas. Fantastic Dining experiences with many choices. Great Golf at the Attached Nicklaus courses. What more could you want?

Beautiful hotel, with nice modern rooms. Great friendly and welcoming staff. Food was very good and desserts especially were amazing. Beach is also beautiful with lots of chairs at Jerk Hut was one of my favourites in addition to the Italian restaurant. It has great ambiance.

Overall, positive impression. Not sure if we would return because it was just way too big. We prefer a cozier vibe. There were shuttles and shuttle routes throughout, but it was not easy to "run back to the room" if we happened to forget something while out at dinner in the lobby area.

This resort is on the smaller size which personally I loved. The food in every restaurant was top notch. Another bonus is how close it is the the airport. There was a variety of musicians in the bar and at the pool each day.

This hotel has more that anyone should ever need to experience a week of pure rest and relaxation. We stayed at the Nizuc location and I am very happy that we did. It was less busy than the Sunrise location yet we were still able to access all of the amenities of both locations. The pools are wonderful and there was always lots of room to find loungers and lots of clean towels available. The beach was a bit of a disappointment as the ocean was quite murky - but that could have been the time of year we attended (January). The service was impeccable - drinks and food by the pool all day and the buffet had plenty of options of healthy, good quality food. The rooms were fine but the layout is a bit inconvenient. We had no issue as a family of four having enough room to feel comfortable but the rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Our ocean view room was a very nice perk and it was conveniently located close to the pool and Nizuc lobby. To secure restaurant reservations you need to be proactive and call in early to make sure room is available. We were a group of 13 and as a larger family and we were able to try most of the places and all spots were a pleasant experience. The amenities at Sunrise were very fun for our two children (8 and 6) namely the Wired Lounge and the Playroom. The hotel entertainment staff also had great events going on daily such as soccer on the beach and face painting. The hotel met all of our expectations and we made lasting memories.

That was the third time we went there, and will go again. Their services are amazing, with Happy, nice, and friendly people. There are lots of activities and fun; the best place for family to rest and enjoy the environment.

The staff were warm, friendly, attentive and helpful. People from diverse backgrounds stayed at this resort and were all made to feel welcome. The location was great but for the 2 hours drive from the airport to get there. The food was okay. Lots to eat of course. Room service was top notch. The fridge was well stocked. A bottle of wine in our room to top it off. Love the villas.

We all had a great time at Moon Palace! Stayed at Sunrise and convenient location to the beach and restaurants. Resort was clean and service was great. Brenda was so helpful with booking us the vacation and giving us great advice. Thanks!!!

We can’t say enough good things about Sun Palace, Cancun. Beautiful facilities, great staff, super pools, great views and beach. Food could be slightly upgraded but overall it’s good. What is lacking are the number of restaurants,; they need at least one or two more restaurants and get rid of reservations only.

This resort pays so much to every detail to give you the most amazing experience. Staff is so attentive and friendly we had the best stay. The resort and grounds were always immaculate. I would definely go back.

The Moon Palace Sunrise was a nice resort. Lots of amenities, very clean, loads of food and drink choices, staff were unfailingly helpful and lovely, without being intrusive. It also had an app, which made it easy to order anything you needed, find your way around the resort, etc. The hotel itself is about 4km from the road, behind a gate, so if it is sun you are seeking, this is a great place to stop. If you want to experience the Mexican culture, I'd probably choose somewhere else. We did not try out the spa or golf course, but they looked nice enough from when we walked by. Things to watch out for: - long lineups for food, and for the few restaurants where you needed a reservation, they weren't easy to get. It requires booking through the resort app, and most times we looked, there weren't any times available. - expect this is at all resorts, but the hoarding of loungers around the pool starts at 7am - people throw a towel or sunscreen on a lounger, then disappear for a few hours, so by 8am, it can be challenging to find a couple loungers together. There are some areas if you pay more (I think they were called Elite or Diamond members), where some seats were reserved. - after you check-in, or if you approach guest relations with a question, you are going to get pushed hard to attend a presentation at the Grand, which is another resort on the Moon Palace grounds. They will try to entice you with resort credits and/or a day pass to The Grand (usually USD $99), but it does require you to listen to a sales pitch. I recommend reading the fine print, as in "how long does the presentation actually take our of your day", and how much of the resort credits can you use for an activity, and what tax do I have to pay out of my own pocket to use them - believe it was a 16% tax on resort credits) - we booked two tours through there: for the first, the transit didn't show up, and it took the hotel nearly an hour to sort out an alternate transit. And we had to figure out our own transit back - the hotel paid for it, but we had to organize it. For the second, the tour to the Chichen Itza ruins, it was an 11 hour tour, and 8 hours was spent on the bus (whereas the person selling the tour said it was closer to 5 hours) - did not feel the Chichen Itza tour was good value for money.

My husband and I enjoyed our week at the Beach Palace. But there are pros and cons. The pros are,beach is amazing,views from the room,beautiful. Roof top view also spectacular! 24 hr Room Service excellent! Poolside and beach service (smokehouse)are nice options and the food provided is very good.They had calamari,wings,nachos hamburgers etc.The servers are topnotch and attentive everywhere! Special shout out to Alfredo at the sports bar,Tereza at the pool/beach service and our maid Luciera! They are an asset to the resort for sure! Coffee and Sweet shop also yummy. Top shelf liquor in all bars,personal products in room great quality (Chi) the rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. Also very clean,even if a little dated. Mini bar well stocked and the app to order additional items is a plus.Night shows were ok, a little better and different than most we have seen at other all inclusives. Now the cons,disappointing lobby,no atmosphere,filled with people selling,memberships excursions, souvenirs etc. Buffet lacking in options of food for breakfast and dinner.we always ate at the pool for lunch. A la cartes were not great. Limited options.Elevators are a little slow but not as bad as I expected. Only one type of beer at the bars, if you don't like Corona,and we don't you are out of luck.That was a huge disappointment! Too many kids in the sports bar. There should be a time when kids have to leave. Resort credits are not what they appear to be.You have to activate them at guest services which is just someone trying to sell you a membership.You still have to pay taxes after you activate so they are useless.Example...sunglasses at the shop are $200 USD,use your credits and still pay $32 USD. Just buy from the guy on the beach. Same quality but cheaper. Pools are small, swim up bar especially. Games at the pool are ok but they do not give prizes. And lastly be careful of the automatic donation charge to your room at check out. They tell you when you check in they are adding $10 to hold your credit card for incidentals but, it's actually a charge for their Foundation. They help the community and wildlife in the area with these donations which is a great thing but why not just tell the truth? I would donate if they were truthful. The way they just charge it is sneaky and you have to ask to have it removed,if you see it because they do not point it out. Even though we had a good week and the pros outweigh the cons,we would not return.The lack of food and beer options were a problem for us.

Beautiful grounds! Excellent food! Staff was great! Amenities were fantastic! Standard room was on the smaller side but adequate. Lots of activities and entertainment for the young and old. Would definetly stay here again.

This was my 12th trip to Moon Palace but my first since Jan. 2020 (for obvious reasons). What a major disappointment in almost every conceivable way. Though the cost of going has gone up approx. 50% since 2020, everything from service, room essentials, food, golf, amenities etc. has gone down hill. From blaring music at a wedding that shook our windows (from 200M away) until 11pm. Both wheelchairs we were issued came with severely under inflated tires. Our room did not get cleaned one day and the beer we requested was left on top of the dresser instead of being put into the fridge and the coffee was not replaced. The golf used to be included by redeeming "Resort credits" now its $250USD per person before 7am. The course is in great condition (as hardly anyone plays it) but the sand (mud) traps are abysmal. Unfortunately, as much as I use to love Moon Palace, I will never go there again and would never recommend it to friends like I use to.

Resort was beautiful and lots of good amenities. Water park is great for kids and multiple other pools to hang out at. Beach itself was nice but too windy to swim and seaweed was heavy. Heavy push to upgrade room and then aggressive staff trying to get you to buy timeshare/'membership' which was a drag. Food was pretty good but 2 in our party got pretty bad food poisoning that ruined the last 3 days of the trip. Resort is HUGE which is a bit inconvenient as you have to wait for shuttles or do a lot of walking.

Huge complex There are 3 resorts that you can access the Sunrise, Nizuc and the Grand. We were able to got to their lobbys and have drinks or food no problem even though we were in Nizuc and the Grand is a diamond elite. Hotel is very clean, staff is nice, food was excellent, pool area you have staff that brings you food and drinks to your chairs. The only bad thing is that there is lots of seaweed on the beach and the first 5 feet in the ocean. We stayed pretty much by the pools area due to this. You have an APP for Palace resorts that you can download on your phone, you can reserve the restaurant's from there, you can order room service, you can order coffer and etc and have it prepared ahead of time and grab and go at the coffee shop. You can also order extra towels, drinks, bed and even toothpaste or toothbrush to your room all free of charge. There are shuttles to go from lobby to lobby (bus). There are also 8 passenger golf carts that bring you almost everywhere in the resorts. There is a kids pool area in the Sunrise, a surfing wave pool in Sunrise that is free. There are watersides in the Grand but these you have to pay per day. There were live bands playing songs by the pool from around 1PM to 3PM in the Nizuc that played 80s and 90s music which was nice instead of the dj music. Overall very nice and highly recommend.

What stands out is the service. They obviously spend a lot of time on the recruitment and training of there employees as they are the best of the best. I was disappointed that the rooms ( Ryl oceanfront honeymoon) do not have balconies as this is very unusual of any other resort I have stayed. I was also surprised that there was only one sink making it awkward for two people getting ready. I read on a FB site I followed that many people thought the food was the best they have had. I go to a lot of restaurants and the food was the best of any all-inclusive we have stayed but not as good as a top restaurant. We found the French and Japanese the best. I was disappointed in the Italian and Blanc for dinner. The Blanc breakfast and lunch buffet was real good. A good selection and everything kept impeccable clean. The towel game was played here the most of any resort I have been at. If you want a chair around the main pool you have to get there by 6:30am. The staff are saving the chairs. There has to be a better way. All in all, we really liked the resort however we paid more than twice the price of other 5-star resorts, and I do not think that it warranted that much extra.

Stacy-Ann and Johnoy by the pool, and Dookie and Joseph at Pier 8… Phenomenal service and entertainment! Stacy-Ann was with us every day, and has such a lovely soul. Thank you to all the staff - Very attentive, genuine staff, creating a happy atmosphere for the entire trip. Not to mention the beautiful location and delicious food. 10/10 we will miss you and we will be back !!!

Very nice hotel, great restaurants, snorkelling right out of hotel dock, great shopping near by. Housekeeping service was fantastic. But the best part are the people. Just to name a few - Bestabe, Allen, Juan, Perla and so many others. Service oriented, efficient, but first of all making us feel special. I can say that we found many, many friends out there. Thank you for your big heart

The Moon Palace Sunrise is a lovely resort. The food is very good and the staff were amazing and very accommodating. It was difficult to get dinner reservations and the rooms are lovely but small for more than 3 people.

Resort is great, lots of food options, pools are nice. However rooms are dated and small, no sound proofing, you can clearly hear people walking past at night. I had to complain twice about loud drunk groups of people. I would stay at the Grand Moon palace, a newer hotel, rooms are spacious and modern.

The food at the Al a carte restaurants was amazing. We ate at the buffet once and was ok. The Starbuck-like coffee bar with unlimited gelato, truffles, chocolates, cake, fresh sandwiches, crepes was a favorite for my spouse and son. The resort is huge but we didn't mind walking. There are a lot of trolleys. Rooms were quite clean and no musty smell. Internet was solid throughout the resort. Pool and bars were great. Pools are beautifully designed. We ordered room service quite a few times since we have a toddler, it was definitely a perk. Only turn off was the number of times the promotional people kept calling our room after requesting not to in person.

A great resort where you get 3 in 1. Lots to do for the kids, restaurants were wonderful.. or favorite was Tavola at the Grand. Nizuc pool on the west side was out favorite with a waterslide and swim up bar. Sunrise was ultimately the best, better than the Grand in our opinion. Rings are small. We were a family of 4, with 2 double beds. Hubby and I did not fit in the double, so I slept with a kid each night. Finally got a rollaway on night 4, which helped, but no space to put it. The Grand isn't so grand..a lot of people coming and going and the other 2 buildings were just as beautiful. The waterpark wasn't as much of a hot as we expected. One waterslide you had to have a 2some, and another was down for the week. Staff were amazing..friendly and informative.

Amazing experience - hotel is spotless, service is impeccable, food is great, and free spa hydrotherapy a nice perk! Would definitely recommend this for a children free de-stress and romantic getaway for couples.

This resort is large, well maintained and focused on catering to its guests. The food was high quality. We found many of the a la cart restaurants to be the best we have ever enjoyed. The staff were all kind and attentive. Rooms were clean and well appointed with CHI blow dryers, flat irons and hair products! We are planning a return visit! Every staff wore their masks at all time and there was a high attention to hand sanitizing and cleanliness in general. Antigen testing was quick and efficient! 10 out of 10 for this resort!

We recently stayed at the Cozumel Palace and overall had a pleasant stay. While it is not of the same caliber as the Playacar Palace, the Staff were very helpful and attentive. We prefer Adults only accommodations and would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday. It became increasingly busy, more than likely due to it being Christmas, but the noise in the hallways and in the hotel became an issue for us. There was also very little communication wirh regards to events that were happening at the resort. Finally, we were not overly thrilled or impressed with sales pressure to buy into the resort. It was nice to be away, and if you are looking for a small family friendly resort than this is a resort for you.

We had a group of 11 people at this resort from December 11-18. Overall this is a great resort with friendly staff, well-kept grounds, good food and no issues getting a lounge chair around the pool (which was a nice change). The waterpark is fantastic for kids of many different ages as well as adults. A few challenges include the app which did not really work and made it challenging to book restaurants. The sand on the beach is lovely but there are lots of weeds so swimming in the ocean it’s not really practical. Lastly, the atmosphere around the pools was disappointing. There was elevator music which became a little annoying after a while. Our solution was to walk to the sister resort next-door which had much more atmosphere and there’s a bunch better place to spend the day around the pool. They had great lunch specials that appeared right at the pool, which was really convenient. My biggest complaint was the pushiness of the sales staff trying to sell timeshares. We would receive phone calls at 8:30 (waking us up) each morning asking us to come to the front desk to pick up our package, which was just an excuse for us to meet with the sales team. Eventually I unplugged the phone because the calls were so annoying.

We loved every second of our vacation at the Grand Moon Palace. We had high expectations and this resort exceeded them all! We will definitely be booking another trip at this same resort Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just returned from a week at The Grand. It was fantastic. The pros - food was great (especially appetizers), drinks were flowing, resort was clean, and staff were amazing. So many things for kids to do, they will never utter the words "i'm bored". The cons - only thing I can think of is the beach isn't the greatest...but honestly it didn't matter. Would absolutely recommend this resort!

Facilities were well maintained and clean. Hotel staff were eager to provide service and please their clientele especially the entertainment staff with the children. Meal options were numerous, the Asian restaurant “Momo” was a clear favourite and offered cuisine of high quality and offered entertainment from the chefs, warranting the need for reservations. I wish we had sampled this option earlier! The Italian and seafood restaurant options were not up to the same quality and could be improved slightly. The Buffet was always a solid choice and provided plenty of options. The flow rider and water slide were loved by the kids but their clear favourite was swimming with the dolphins! Outside tour options were fun especially Dunn’s river falls and Mystic Mountain. Probably one of the only issues was the 2hr transit between the resort and the airport

We had a fun time and we like the resort but: This is George Kiriakidis from Mike Rowland’s group. Please note that after checking my Visa statement, I have been charged multiple times for the golf carts. I was staying in room 7218 with Mr Ed Doyle. Our total bill should have been $410 US and it was split in two between us. Ed got charged $210 which is correct I got charged $210 two times ( incorrect ) I also got charged another four times $84 for a total of $336 US ( incorrect ). Can you please help me reverse the all those extra charges?

The resort is beautiful, bartender were so friendly, the staff at the front desk can be a little more friendly, had a small issue with our rooms, but the next day was fixed. Booked a tour with our credit that we received which was great, but the people that are selling the tours are not as well informed on certain things. Basically the dolphin tours, we were told no pictures were allowed and we couldn't' really see the girls hanging out with the dolphin, but you can see them, i was even able to zoom in my camera to catch pictures. Also, our air transit guy that we were suppose to meet the first day there to get our time of departure from the hotel never showed up and no one at the hotel knew when we could meet up again with him, so i finally went tot he front desk and asked if they had a binder with the info, and low and behold they did. The food was good, the dessert were the best i have ever had at a all inclusive resort, the entertainment staff during the day were good, the shows at now, not that great. The biggest thing i would say about this is resort is definitely a family resort, if i would have gone with adult only i would have been disappointed but we were there with two teenager and it was great!.

We loved Everything about this resort. The food, the location, but most of all the amazing staff. They are always happy and smiling and make this resort!! Great service all around. The shows were fun and the entertainment staff are great at getting folks involved.

This resort exceeded our expectations!! The people alone were unbelievable.. from servers to cooks to bartenders to entertainment staff!! The grounds were impeccably kept up.. honestly a resort I will Refer to many many people !

Stayed here with my family of six, we all had the best vacation ever! So much to do for all ages. The location was awesome for our little Boys! They loved all the activities and the kids club. We would return again for sure!

We had a pretty good time at this resort. Overall not a bad vacation but we were missing some things to make it amazing. Pros: nice resort, good drinks, lots of space around the pools, decent food at the restaurants, 24hr room service + bistro. Access to the grand with a day pass was also a great experience to use their facilities such as the day club + water park. Cons: terrible service at most of the a la carte restaurants - dinner one night took almost 3 hrs from start to finish with 1/2 hr to 45 mins in between courses, resort was very busy and at times the bars were so busy the bartenders wouldn’t even acknowledge you until you were waiting for 10-15 mins, many areas of the resort need maintenance - cracks in the paint in the rooms, cracked and missing tiles in the pools, small things that haven’t been maintained over time, the beach was probably the worst part of this resort. I know this area has a problem with seaweed that renders the beach unusable, it does have a strong smell and when we made our way down within 30 seconds we were covered head to toe in sand fleas, not a great experience there. There is also not great night life and it gets very boring at points. If I were to go back I would spend the extra money to stay at the grand side, where the facilities are better maintained and there is more to do.

Moon Palace is the place to be if you want to be treated like royalty. The staff go above and beyond to take cate if their guests. The food, grounds, pools, entertainment and service was the best my family and I have ever seen. We highly recommend Moon Palace. Fingers crossed we will make it back one day.

Food and drinks were delicious. Excellent service. Amazing for kids. Both my 4 year old and 10 year old had a blast. The pool area was awesome. The only disappointment was the beach. We could not swim and lots of seaweeds.

We stayed at the Grand at Moon Palace. Highly recommend this resort for families with children. The resort is huge with various activities for kids of all ages. The rooms were amazing & the food was fantastic for an AI resort. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Place was too big, service was below average. Rooms were nice, staff were pleasant Too hard to get restaurant reservations, menus were very limited. Hard to find anyone to ask questions, no concierge service, the app has too many glitches Checkin took way too long

The grounds, pools and rooms are beautiful and well maintained. Lots of things to do like shows, excursions and activities. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and plentiful. It was hard at times to get service poolside and the beach was quite mucky, not nice to swim in. Overall, I would recommend and attend again.

Hotel and hotel grounds are stunning. Grounds are extensive. Be prepared to walk a lot although there are shuttles around just not always when you need them. Golf Courses are just awesome yet Starters could use some training from North American courses on how to run three - 9 hole courses efficiently. You never knew where you were going to play and some were jammed up while other courses nobody on them. Rooms are standard nothing over the top. Shower Water could never regulate, too cold or scalding. No in-between One Sink in bathroom constantly clogged. Two double beds are small if sharing with another adult. Extremely cozy. Ordered pillows and they dropped off with no pillowcases. Level of care in room and attention to detail dropped off as week went on. No new towels on last full day. Restaurants - BEWARE The Grand at Moon Palace has a multitude of a la carte restaurants that you can't get reservations in to save your life. They recommend using their app to make reservations for the next day or two at a time but not once was I successful in doing that. When calling, they advised that you have to call at 10am the following morning to make reservations for that day or the next. When you did that they would offer you 5pm (and then promptly lose the reservation) and or 9-9:30pm. It would seem that if you were a big group or a Diamond Member that you would get priority reservations already planned and booked well in advance. Otherwise, they almost would force you to go to the Buffet or to a restaurant that didn't take reservations. Upon arrival at restaurants that didn't take reservations, you would be told the wait was approximately one hour. You would come back at the allotted time and there still would be no tables. Waited two to two and a half hours at these restaurants on numerous nights. Once I got seated at Jade, no one visited the table for over 20 minutes. When I reached out to someone and forced them to take our order, she complained how busy they were although at that point it was 9:30 pm and the restaurant was emptying out. Took over another 45 minutes to get food and she kept telling us it was coming. Finally had to complain to a manager and then miraculously all this food just started appearing on our table. Even food we didn't order. Think at that point they just wanted us to be quite. Very poor service. Or you would get a reservation at 5pm and be told it was the last reservation and they squeezed you in and when you get to the restaurant it is not even open yet and you eat your whole meal with four other tables otherwise the restaurant being fully empty. They really need to do a full SWAT analysis of this process as it ruined the whole eating part of our trip. Beach - very limited loungers and no one to help find one. they usually a very small portion of the beach they have. What wasted space as it is beautiful and meticulously maintained. Pools - lots of pool but hard to find lounge chairs and most pools seemed overrun by floaties....massive unicorn and pizza's etc. For the amount paid, not worth it.

Great resort, very clean, lots of amenities, pleasant and helpful staff. Special shout to Albert and his crew at the buffet, outstanding service all week! Would definitely consider staying again, and would definitely recommend to others.

From the moment we stepped into the extravagant lobby we knew we were going to have a phenomenal week. The check in /out process was seamless. The staff go over and beyond what you would typically receive. The food and drinks were 10/10! Our favourite restaurant was Momo. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Everything you needed was supplied. They call it palace life for a reason! We will most definitely be returning.. The nightly entertainment was fantastic. We couldn’t have picked a better resort for our family.

The resort and people were first class. The food was excellent and professionally presented but we would have preferred a little more selection but we recognize that in asmall resort this may not be possible. The beach really wasn’t for beach walkers and we are each walkers . Those two caveats did not detract from a very enjoyable stay

We are a couple in our 40’s who were looking for a place to relax, be pampered, and enjoy beautiful scenery. It was perfect...small and quiet, with service that was attentive and extraordinarily friendly. Perhaps not the “grandiose luxury” of a mega resort, but it was gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for. I recommend to anyone who wants to relax and unwind under the sun, while being treated like royalty!

Hotel staff, excellent, food... 8/10, Suit comfort: 6/10. After the short but taxing travel from Toronto to Cancun with our 1.5 year old, we were greeted pleasantly during our checkin. Unfortunately we had to wait 40 minutes outside our suit because our bracelet door locks didnt work. Turned out that the door somehow shut itself and the safety chain flipped into its slot?!.. After 40 minutes the door was finally opened. Once we did get into out suit, my side of the king bed felt like it dropped into the floor below (exaggerated of course) but the springs were clearly worn out. We're not the type that like to complain, but having my 1.5 in a soiled diaper, family hangry, and the rain made the perfect storm. We asked if we can order room service from our bell man after we made it in, he said of course, download the app and or turn to our smart tv app. After he left we immediately looked into this and unfortunately NEITHER of them worked, so we patiently waited for dinner service. Lucky we had milk in a thermos for the little guy and some snacks in our backpacks. The rainbow/silver lining during all of this was after they investigated the situation, they offered my wife a spa treatment to melt some of her frustration away :) Happy wife, happy life we all say. We had arrived for a wedding, which was beautiful under the weather conditions we had. Would have been nice to have the childrens play/ water slide area open, but it wasn't. This was our little guys first 'sun' vacation experience, although we feel he had fun, but his experience could have been 10x more enjoyable we felt with further exciting memories & captured moments. We've been to two other Riu resorts, @ Dominican Republic & Jamaica, both were over the top phenomenal experiences. But Cancun Moon Palace Sunrise definitely fell below our expectations being a 5star restore. The last domino's to tip over were the batches of seaweed and diluted caribbean sea with sediment which no one stepped into. (As in, NO one was on the beach at all) Over all, disappointment would be an understatement for our first experience as a little family. Our lack of research on the part of the beach/ seaweed we take ownership of, but it would have been appreciated if Palace Resorts offered day pass or travel options to their sister resorts where enclosed or clear beaches were available. Cheers to safe travels to all, hope our experience will shed some highlights and checkpoints to tick off before you finalize your booking.

The Michael Jackson show was amazing and it was not only a perfect honeymoon but the best place to celebrate this special time. Can not wait to come back!!

I must say, moon palace cancun was an incredible resort with top shelf service. The only thing I would say is, I had to pay for an upgrade to the grand moon palace while the rest of my group (10 people) did not and were upgraded for free. That said, having to pay the upgrade did not play a role in how I feel about the trip. I would definitely go back to visit the grand moon palace! My 15 year old son thoroughly enjoyed his trip as well did I! Sean.

Service and staff are 5 star!!! Food is always very good!! If you\re looking to golf it is an awesome course featuring 3- 9 holes courses....Lots of activities for all ages! Rooms are always clean with adequate towels and bedding.... The only downside is the beach...which is covered in seaweed all of the time..virtually non swimmable

Wonderful Family Vacation! We stayed at the Moon Palace Sunrise section from April 16-April 23, 2019. It was an awesome experience. Beautiful resort- well kept, clean and stunning grounds. The food does not disappoint! Loved the breakfast Buffet, Gondola (yummy Italian restaurant -ask fro Mario -best waiter) and Momo (Japanese cuisine). There's so many places to eat! The resort is huge but we stayed mainly by the Sunrise section. Great pools, kids section is cute and the swim-up bar service was fast and drinks were delicious. We stayed in the Sombrero building which is the furthest from the lobby-it's about a 5-7 mins walk. If you prefer not to walk, they have golf cart shuttles all over the resort and to the other sections Nizuc (we went there as well) and The Grand. There is plenty to do on the resort but the highlight for our kids was the arcade (Wired Lounge). Awesome fun when you have kids aged 9 and 13. The hubby and I really enjoyed it too as it is for all ages. My daughter and I also got manicures and pedicures - staff is great, especially Magdelena and Rita. Overall, had a fabulous time and would go back. Thanks for the great service and food Moon Palace!!

I can not say enough about The Moon Palace, Sunrise Resort. This place is amazing. All the staff are so kind, helpful and accommodating. The food was excellent. The entertainment team were fabulous. This place catered to children and adults. I love the fact that our bracelets were our door keys. The list could go on & on. I highly recommend this resort.

Excellent service, food was excellent rooms are new and high end. The Italian and Japanese restaurants were outstanding, in future I would alternate between those two throughout the trip. I would recommend this place

We stayed at the Grand Moon Palace in the first week of February and had the best time yet of all the resorts we have tried. The grounds were well kept, the walkways excellent, the golf cart bus service was exceptional. You didn’t have to walk anywhere. The quality of the food was above average to excellent and the choice of restaurants was too large to experience them all in one week. The service staff were always friendly and very hard working.

Traveled as a family of 5 from Jan 25 to Feb 1st. Yes, this hotel is far from Montego Bay International Airport but it's well worth the drive!!! I've traveled enough to know that rarely do the online pictures and promotions accurately represent the hotel - this is not the case with Moon Palace Jamaica. We arrived at 9:30 pm, we were greeted with a flower, cool drink and cold towel. Check in was smooth, we were escorted to our room and given a quick tour on the way which was very informative. The rooms were exactly as shown online, with everything included that we had expected! We had a family deluxe suite which is essentially 2 rooms in one. The food, grounds and staff were all remarkable. Of course, there is no such thing as perfection, there were little things in our room such as the bathroom door not locking properly etc. but the way the hotel handled it was extraordinary, not only was the issue(s) resolved immediately but a call was made to the room immediately following to ensure that expectations had been met! I had read several complaints regarding the adjoining room doors so I wasn't surprised to find that the doors connecting the rooms were very awkward. Clearly it was an afterthought as the adjoining doors open out into the rooms. They are located right at the front door so it can prove to be quite difficult getting in and out, room service etc. We were on the 7th floor and the hotel was not very busy so the turn down service didn't really work out for us. They arrived at our floor around 5pm - just as we were back in our room getting ready for dinner. We always got fresh towels etc. but only one day were we out of the room and actually got the service! Did these things alter how we felt about our vacation? Not in the least!!! This is an amazing hotel and we had a fantastic time! I just want to keep things in perspective. There is no such thing as perfection but let me say this hotel comes pretty darn close. The staff are thoughtful, kind and genuine. Tips were appreciated but I never felt they were expected. Customer service is a top priority here. This is not an inexpensive vacation but it is well worth it. If you are looking for a special getaway, then I would certainly recommend the Moon Palace Jamaica!!!!!

There are so many choices for dinner and specialty restaurants also open at lunch. The beach is not great but the pools make up for it. There are a few heated pools at the grand by the ocean. The rooms are big! Clean and well stocked with good beer like Corona.... And the best flavored peanuts, salt and lemon.

It may seem trite but I am a tea drinker and the resort provided me with a kettle which I so appreciated. This was our second visit and although the staff were very attentive we did notice that the 'elite ' guests had the hog share of seating at the pool and more access to cart service. Luckily we like to walk but more availability would have been appreciated at times when kids were tired. Also, beware if you are not 5'3" you will not be allowed on 2 of the 3 water slides. My daughter (mother of 2) tried twice but at 5'2.5", she did not make the cut. The rest of our party let her know the fun she missed. The staff are very friendly, attentive and kind. We enjoyed the food at l the restaurants we tried-- which were a lot!

We would never recommend this place. Many that attended the wedding ended up very sick, quite sure it was food poisoning. The ocean and the beach are awful. Very murky and full of seaweed. A huge tractor is going back and forth on the beach the majority of the day. The swimming pools are freezing except for one that is heated and packed. Very, very disappointed.

Large resort with excellent service , a variety of restaurants, bars , beautiful pools, a large sandy beach and activities for all ages. 10 minutes from Cancún airport, easy checkin ,room was spacious , beds comfy but only double so small . I would recommend this resort for families and adults alike - something for everyone , you won’t be disappointed

Our vacation was from Nov. 28th - Dec.5th and we found there was a lull in vibrancy and entertainment. The staff seemed bored and some, even kurt/rude. There was an initial room error that was only recified after we were given ample attitude from a front desk staff member. The highlight of our stay was the food and physical appearance of the property - very clean and luxurious. Great spa.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The resort is huge and I didn't like how far our room was from the main building. The beach was unusable too much seaweed to walk or swim. The pool, playroom, wave runner surfing and the water slides for the kids were excellent. The food was the best I've ever had at an all inclusive (I've been to many in my time). We were tricked into taking a tour of the Grand Moon Palace with promise of free golf clubs. This turned out to be a time share pitch. This took 3 hours of our day and the sales people were aggressive. I hated every minuet of the tour/presentation and they didn't end up honoring the free golf clubs. STAY AWAY from the Grand tour. The kids and our family enjoyed the vacation. If you are a beach family this is not the place for you. If your kids love activities and sports and you want good food this is a perfect spot.

You will love everything in there but the beach is not that good . Lots of seaweed however , you will have a great selection of amazing fancy restaurants , alots of pool , entertainment, clean rooms and amazing staff

It was very good and we had a fantastic time at The Grand. Staffs are friendly, service was great, the gym is nice and amazing spa service. We experienced the honeymoon dinner at Los Tacos. The water park is huge.

We stayed at the Grand and our room was upgraded to a beautiful suite on the ocean. There was lots to do, food was fabulous and the drinks provided were international brands we knew. Honestly the only issue we had was trying to get a trolley so we had to walk a lot but otherwise it is a great place to take your family. Couldn't use all the amenities during the week we were there but I am sure we will be back for another visit.

The resort was absolutely beautiful. Our room was very spacious, had a comfy bed and the room service was great. We didn't book any tours as we were only there for 5 days but we kept ourselves busy with pool activities ,biking etc. We made reservations at several different restaurants. The food was great but the service was very poor at the steakhouse. Our reservation was for 5 pm but our entrees did not arrive until 7 pm. It was our last evening and it left little time to do anything else. That's my only complaint.

The resort, room and pools were amazing. Staff were the nicest people ever. The food was really good. The resort was definitely a 5 star resort. There was great nightly shows Beach wasn't perfect, too much seaweed.

Impeccably maintained resort with lots of amenities for kids of all ages. Very friendly staff, especially Miguel, Caspar and Martin 🙂 Although it seems very large, it’s Easy to commute between lobbies with the golf carts or the large buses.

We spent a week , Aug 17th to 24th in Moon Palace Cancun. It is very nice resort and service there is excellent. There was a little hiccup getting there. First our flight was delayed for an hour which happened also on the way home a week later because the flight from Toronto was delayed again.Not sure why but it seems the same flight Air Transat TS550 is delayed every Friday. When we got to Cancun the Air Transat agents at the airport told our driver that we are at Sunrise part of Moon Palace. But when we got there it turns out we were supposed to be at Nizuk. Regardless, the welcome by the stuff was just amazing and very quickly they transferred us to right section , check in was quick and we had a very nice room at great location close to all amenities. We also had extra roll- away bed in the room as we requested.We had scheduled meeting next day with Air Transat agent with all info and time of pick up on the day of departure but he was an hour late, since the agents desk was in Sunrise section of hotel not where we were staying, it was kind of waste of time to go back and fort for that meeting and kind of lost half of the day. He apologized and said he had meeting with other client at different place , so why did they schedule him to be at 2 different places at the same time? Like I said the resort is very nice, clean and service is very good from Bellboys,serving staff in restaurants, waiters by the pool,towel lady, entertaining staff etc. The only little disappointment we had was that we could not swim in the ocean. It is so polluted by seaweed that is inaccessible. We understand that is not hotels fault , it's the mother nature, but still it would be nice to be able to spend some time on the beach as well.Therefore the pools are just overcrowded and everyone reserves their loungers with towels very early in the morning. Another bit disappointment we had was a food. The buffet is quite small and did not have very much selection and La carte restaurants lack at tasty food. We were not hungry but just expected a bit more from that kind of resort. We vacationed in lower star rating resorts before in Riviera Maya and must say the selection and quality of food was much better. For example the Brazilian stake house in Moon Palace had that feel of service but meat was over seasoned and overcooked.Also we were under impression there are so many restaurants available but we quickly realized that was not the case. There were couple of Buffet in two sections of resort we were allowed to go, and abut 4 la carte but meals in la carte were just not that exciting. Also we had quickly learned that we need to go for dinner quite early,if we went later the lineups and wait for restaurants was just to long.I guess the good thing was there are no reservation required for restaurant's except the teppanyaki dinner at Momo, oriental La carte. I have to say that was actually the biggest disappointment. It was not easy to get reservation for teppanyaki dinner for the time we wanted so, when we got to restaurant and our group for the teppanyaki table was seated we had to wait almost and hour for chef to arrive and start cooking.All the tables around us who have been seated at the same time had almost finished dinner and we didn't even have a chef. The restaurant manager came after almost 45 min waiting, to apologize there was a mix up in the kitchen. When chef eventually arrived he cooked up dinner quite quickly and that was it.Just compering the experience in other resorts the teppanyaki dinner was much more fun with chef being more entertaining, it was a show and the dinner with guests engaged in entertainment etc.I had the resort app on my phone and got the message to review how is our stay so far. I have commented on situation with teppanyaki dinner but had no response. Over all it was nice to get way with family and we did have relaxing vacation apart the Air Transat being a little disorganized and a small things I have mentioned. I must mention the tripcentral.ca agent Jack was pleasure to deal with from the day we booked vacation with all information he has given us by word and email's and trying to accommodate our requests for centrally located room, roll-away bed to following up with us after we came back.

The service staff were always prepared to say "YES" to any of our requests. We had one misleading experience with the commissioned 3rd party company selling the excursions. The table side sushi service at the Japanese restaurant could have been explained more clearly... sushi dinners did not require reservations. They could have used a bit more seafood... Pier 8 was shut down. Housekeeping staff and our pool side servers were the best. Good bang for the buck taking in the use of the other two hotels. Guadalupe was our pool side server and she was on the ball the whole time we were there... excellent service and a great attitude.

Everything is special at grand and it is love at first sight! I was looking for a beach vacation after 2 years and that was very disappointing and no one mentioned anything at Trip Central about the beach! That was heart breaking and disgusting with those sea weeds and the smell.

All aspects of this resort is an A+. Only issue was that the beach was not usable due to seaweed. I know its out of anyone’s control. I appreciate the fact that resort had construction machines cleaning the seaweed 12 hours a day.

Rooms are amazing service is very poor ppl are not friendly or helpful food so much to choose from shows are amazing at night but no entertainment by pool or music that is kind of boring the bech i didn’t like

Although the resort was nice, location great, staff were great, I was disappointed that when we asked at the time of booking if this would be appropriate for a mother daughter university grad trip and they said yes. They gave us a room with two double beds which was very accommodating but as soon as we arrived and were given the one hour introductory spiel of the various Palace properties and after having dinner in the restaurant, it was blatantly evident this was a couples only resort. We asked the manager at the sun Palace to move us to the beach palace and they did so with no problem whatsoever but unfortunately we had to pay for our transportation to the beach palace which I was perfectly fine with but they didn’t have an ocean view room available and I had paid extra for ocean view So needless to say that was very disappointing because this was my gift to my daughter for graduating from university and I wanted it to be special. Only go to the sun Palace if you are a couple not even two girlfriends unless you are partners because you will not feel comfortable . The beach palace was amazing I just wished we would have been advised at the time of booking that that would’ve been the better property because then we would’ve had our ocean view room and been there right from the start . On our return home Sunwing cancelled our flight after waiting in the airport for 11 hours sent us back to another resort that was A three star at best and they told us it was five star we basically slept woke up and went back to the airport the following morning . So that was a bit of a nightmare as well . Sunwing is terrible about communicating with passengers when flights are delayed or cancelled they keep you in the dark and just keep changing the departure time by 10 minutes every 10 minutes it was ridiculous .

Small resort was important to us. It was exactly what like the pictures, food was fantastic, the staff unbelievable..room was terrific. We arrived for our 40th wedding anniversary and walked into our room which was full of flower petals and wine..very thoughtful

My family had a great time at the Grand. It is really a Grand resort. The food, pools, people, shows and the services – All exceptional. Thank you to each and every hard working person at this resort. You are all great.

Tripcentral had no idea to which section of Moon Palace we were going - Sunrise, Nizuc or Grand. We ended up in the Grand but spent most of our time in the other locations. Grand is a giant day care centre. Kids running wild everywhere. On top of that, all the facilities at Grand were taken up by the 1000+ participants attending an East Indian wedding. The buffet at Grand is crap. There was nothing there that any of us wanted to eat. However, all of the a la carte restaurants at Moon Palace are excellent - except there is no dress code. There is nothing like sitting next to some bum who thinks dressing for dinner is an undershirt and no deoderant. Room service was right on time but we did not receive what we ordered. Like all Mexican resorts, the staff were outstanding - with the exception of those people working the lobby. The Guest Services people, when not eyeing passing guests like a predator waiting to pounce, often sent us to 4 (yes, 4) different desks before we found somebody willing too help us with a question or concern. And, there was constant pressure to listen to their sales pitch to join their "Club." If you're looking for relaxation, this Resort is not for you. The resort is well maintained and the rooms are very nice. No need to waste money on a better room. The bars are not fully-stocked. For example, no Grand Marnier. If your favourite drink is the Golden Margarita, like me, you will have to do without. The wrist bracelets now also serve as your room key. A very convenient innovation. And, there are no towel cards to worry about either. The less stress, the better. The pool attendants were very nice and could always produce a new chair or umbrella for us, if required. However, the pool water was hot. Not warm - hot. Not refreshing at all. I really can't see us returning to Moon Palace.

We just returned from our stay at the Beach Palace Resort. It was AMAZING. I would return in a heart beat. We travelled with our 4 year old and our 2 year old and found this resort to be very kid friendly. Everything was always clean, beach was surreal and the food was pretty decent. We will be back for sure.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this resort. The service and quality were exceptional. All the surroundings beautiful and more amenities than you could imagine. Something for everyone.

Sunpalace is sophisticated but simplistic at the same time. Buffet is not Hugh like other resorts However the quality of the food is superior. The Italian restaurant amazing. Salmon, egg plant Parmesan, rack of lamb, deserts, out of this world. The oriental does sushi, Thai rolls, Pad Thai well. The snack bar provides great quality snack food, wings, tacos, falafel ( yummy). The beach (wavy)and pool are outstanding. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Service is outstanding This is a fun place but not a drunk loud atmosphere which we appreciated very much. The rooms were lovely however bathroom no privacy. Highly recommend

Amazing resort and even more amazing people! I had read great reviews about this place and had high expectations, and I will say that all my expectations were met and exceeded. The resort credits were amazing as we did so much with them. A treatment at the spa is a must! They give you a water treatment for an hour prior to your massage and that’s to die for! Beautiful spa. The food at the buffet needs variety, we rarely ate there, only for lunches as there wasn’t much to eat. The other restaurants were good but overall the resort needs to add more variety to their food. People were amazing, coco and romaine from entertainment, and Ricardo from the Italian restaurant. Ricardo remembered our individual names after the first visit! My two boys loved him. The beach was great, the town was safe to walk. I went with a 9 and 15 year old and they had so much fun as the resort has so much to offer. Other than food variety, the only other issue was the size of rooms; they were too small for a family of 4. Some other resorts offer more space in their standard rooms.

Had to pay for day passes ($210.00USD per person/day) to visit certain areas of resort as they were separated in 3 different classes. Beach was non usable due to heavy weed contamination. Resort credits were followed up with a 16% tax. Long waits, up to 1/2 hour or more for a golf cart taxi to get from one end of resort to the other. Food was no ore than average at the best. Constant heavy winds. Would not return.....Not worth the price paid...

The Moon Palace is an extremely large resort with three sections (Nizuc, Sunrise and The Grand) with 2,000+ rooms spanning more than 3 kms right on the ocean. As the pool is right at the ocean, it was lovely having the view while lounging around the pool. We stayed at Nizuc and it was a very beautiful setting. Rooms were very modern and lovely with extremely comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly and always willing to assist. The Awe Spa is amazing and a must for anyone to experience! It is exactly that...an experience!!! We were travelling as two families and while we all really enjoyed our March Break vacation, I personally missed some things that I had had during trips to the Dominican Republic: * Given the expanse of the property, there was significant walking to all areas including the pool and meals. There were golf carts that could shuttle you and a coach that ran regularly between all three sections but a lot of time was spent getting from one place to another. * While there were a variety of restaurants, most did not take reservations so we had long waits to get in to eat especially if you went anytime after 7:00 p.m. I would have liked more options at each section of the resort. * While there were evening shows, the stages were outdoors and we had rain one day so the Fire Show was cancelled as a result. These areas were also quite small in comparison to the resort size and I found the quality to be okay on the ones I saw. I was expecting more for the families to do in the evening after dinner. * While there were many activities such as aerobics, zumba, volleyball etc., I didn't find that the staff tried to engage you into getting involved to have some fun around the pool. Our last day however there was an awesome St. Patrick's Day party in the pool featuring a live band, dancing, games etc. that was amazing the entire day! Such a wonderful way to end our vacation! I would have enjoyed seeing a little more of this type of fun throughout the week. * Resort credits are not as easy to spend as one may initially think as you are capped as to how much you can use for any area (i.e. $300 for spa and in the gift store you can only purchase a very small selection of items) and you have to pay 16% on anything you use. That being said we did the Dolphin Experience which was unbelievable...a must for any family and ended up costing us approximately $71 US which was significantly cheaper than the usual $149 US per person for other experiences in other countries as we were able to use credits! I also had a facial at the spa with my daughter which was fabulous! * Despite the abundance of chairs around the pool, there are not enough and we found we had to get up early and put towels on chairs just to have a spot. * This year beaches along the Mayan Riviera are having difficulties with tremendous amounts of seaweed washing ashore making swimming in the ocean uninviting. The Moon Palace is definitely a beautiful resort with amazing grounds and I would recommend it to anyone.

We loved the Moon Palace. Rooms were very clean (albeit a little small) and well stocked. Food was amazing, as were the drinks. The staff was friendly and go out of their way for guests. The beach was very clean and the water calm. The beach was small so be prepared for that if you are someone who likes long walks along the beach. Also know it is about an hour and a half ride from the airport to the resort. We also enjoyed the spa at the resort and were able to use our resort credits for it. Our family would highly recommend Moon Palace.

We have travelled to many islands staying in different resorts, never a Moon Palace until this year. This is a first class hotel large but you never felt overcrowded. Staff was amazing and pleased to serve you. Tip was optional, you were treated the same if you tipped or not. Restaurants plentiful and food outstanding no disappointments at all. Many free outdoor activities for both adult and children. Dolfins on site and well cared for again staff was great dealing with participants. Spa was used, again over all cleanliness, staff supportive and very professional with their approach. Drinks made of quality eg. liquor Grey Goose my favourite.

Very Good: Food was fresh and tasty. Value was good. Family Resort. Entertainment. Teen Room. Kids Club. Amenities. Wave Rider. Towel and sun lounger availability Average: The room cleaning service was good when they showed up. Pool side service was sporadic Not so Good: The beach had a lot of seaweed. Having to upgrade our room (at a cost) because we were originally so far away from the pool Special Mention: Genaro in the Brazilian restaurant was excellent Roman in Entertainment was excellent

Great place great food great room, great pools. Beach had lots of seaweed. Staff was phenomenal and friendly. The constant up selling including timeshare type was hard to take. The credits were hard to spend and every time you did it cost you money.

This hotel was small and intimate. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious with all the modern amenities along with being immaculate. The room service was very prompt and efficient. Breakfast was good ordering off the menu or choosing from the buffet. Lunch at the pool side restaurant was amazing....fish taco's rocked! Dinner was off a menu and was ok, presentation was good. The pool was great, clean and not too busy. The beach area was small, the grounds on the hotel were very nice. The hotel Overall was very nice, I would recommend it if your looking for a nice relaxing vacation. If your into adventure and looking for night life this isn't the place to be. We had a great experience and I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
