We arrived late at the resort so check in was not a problem. We were escorted to our room handed the key and left alone. Well the room smelled like a damp ashtray and did not look much better. Not bottled water and hand soap out of its package which looked used already. Being so late we waited till morning to ask for a new room which they did exchange after we waited for the boss to show up. We decided to have breakfast...if you want to call it that. Minimal offererings, stale buns no bread. You had to toast the buns on a grill beside the lame omelete station. Watered down juice almost no fruit or any choice other than eggs. We could not eat. We had a good cappuccino at so called cafe. Not a good choice of resortsat all even at this star rating. We walked by the pool and it looked merky not clear. No beer served at the beach bar. We ended up switching Hotels with the one next door a couple hours later.

The beach is superb and the other amenities quite acceptable. The staff is excellent and helpful. Recommended as a good choice for a holiday. The only downside is spotty internet access if you need to stay in touch. Not the fault of the resort but a consideration

Spent 11 days enjoying beautiful weather, good service, nice beach and decent food. The bus into town is more frequent, now hourly, which makes it easier to enjoy the cafes, markets and art galleries which make the trip more interesting.

no complaints, food was fine, A/C and hot water were readily available. Rooms were clean. Beaches were fantastic. and best of all, it was quiet. The people as always were friendly and helpful. Hotel staff were all amazing!!! Thank You for a great vacation.

We had an amazing week at Memories! The weather was great, and the ocean and beach were absolutely beautiful. Big thanks to all the staff, especially Yuni and Luis—you guys made our stay unforgettable!

Thankfully the staff were wonderful as always. That's all . Conditions were unsatisfactory. Only 2 lukewarm showers in 14 days. Men's washroom at beach was closed the entire trip. Had to go all the way back to room The lobby men's washroom smelled awful. The pool was close to empty and filthy all the time. I could go on. I probably won't return until I hear that conditions improve. Not speaking for my companions but they share the same sentiment..

We are a multi visit returner to this hotel. The property buildings and rooms are maintained on and on going basis year to year. Meaning they do not let it run down and then have a major renovation. The staff year to year is consistent in customer care. they are all welcoming and ready to take care of us and our needs. We year after year are welcomed back and to us its like returning to a close relatives home for a family reunion. We intend all things being equal to go back again next November. We also note there are a number of other Canadians we have come to know who also vacation in the same time period as us We keep in touch with many of them during the year and coordinate our vactation's with, a year in advance. yes there are minor issues at any hotel one visit's but compared to the great sea, beach, sun and hotel amenities they are minor and the staff do there best to resolve in as soon and possible. And yes we do recommend this hotel to our friends and are already planning tor nest year.

Hotel rancho Luna is the worse place you can book in Cuba. It’s a resort that serves rice and beans every single day. If you have any problems the front desk customer service scolds you and is very reluctant to help. They “run” out of essential items such as beer, wine, toilet paper, and food. The key card barely works which locks you out of your room. I was locked out for a good two hours while the front desk didn’t help. Not only that, you have locals hovering around the beach trying to sell you services, even when you tell them no. I find it quite ironic that one night two people complained about no wine to their booking agent and the next morning they had an abundance of wine. Something is not right about that resort and no Canadian should book there. Losing weight and trying to find an earlier flight should tell you how the trip was.

Ok so this was the worst vacation I spent money on! This place was terrible in pretty much every way! The food situation was so bad we had nothing to eat and lost weight while on vacation! The food was rice, canned meat, goat and fish. No snacks, no mixed drinks, and the same unseasoned food every day for 7 days! I got really sick on day 6 from the food. We had to leave and get food from the restaurants off the resort or we would starve. It’s literally rice, canned meat and beans everyday and night. No butter for the dry bread, no breakfast foods, no lunch and no fruits and no salads at all. They sliced cucumbers, sour pineapples and underripe watermelon was all that was offered! Now the rooms were so bad! We complained and they put us in the suites which were much better! But only got it on day 5 after we were counting the days to go home because we were hungry and thirsty as there was very little water. They had power outage and water was gone for almost 2 days, couldn’t use anything! No water!! No drinks except wine, beer and coffee when we had water! It’s NOT all inclusive as the dining was only open for about 2 hours at a time only at meal times so no food or snacks in between!! Again we are so hungry and I’m already so thin! The room keys stopped working almost daily and the front desk ladies are rude and dismissive! The tv’s are all grainy and terrible! Only have like 4 Spanish channels and cnn in English. The music from the stage is so loud you can’t relax in your room at all! The place lacks entertainment, food, drinks, water, supplies such a toilet paper and paper towels are scarce in Cuba so you will not have any of those if you don’t bring your own! Cuba is quite impoverished so be ware that its poor and people will try to take your money by offering things for sale or just beg you when you go off the resort. The stores and small and under stocked and the food is not good even when you go to a restaurant! The basic rooms are so run down and the mold is bad, small and gross. Only the suites are livable! The beach was dirty and no one cleans up the beach so people didn’t really swim in it! All in all it was so bad I can’t say enough to keep you away from this resort! Please go to a 4 star place where you will have food and basic necessities and a clean beach to swim.

I just love this place,nothing else to say ? Food was not the best but the rest of our stay there was great!Personnal is just amazing,pool is warm and clean and the beach was nice too.We had beer for the entire week!

Staff can be friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. All public areas are kept very clean. I have stayed here several times. Please keep in mind Cuba is strained right now, power outages etc.. The hotel was not affected by power outages and I had great cell phone coverage while at hotel. I use telus.

Great hotel, wonderful staff, beautiful Bayside beach, nice bar, lobby and entertainment areas. Large grounds. Stars at night. Quiet. Peaceful. Large pool. Within walking distance of public beach as well.

Weather 19-30, not much wind, very few rains. Transfer from hotel was a full hour late. No one cared. Room - bad. AC was making noise, nothing else. Permanent odor from sewer. Corners' dirt of many years. Water was OK, warm and cold. Electricity was shouting down all the time, but for minutes. TV shows nothing and in a very bed quality. All bulbs and remotes were OK. Food - bad. Horrible sausage everywhere. Sometimes no eggs, bread, meet. Poor choice of fruits and vegetable. No fish. No oil. No souses. No cheeze. Quality of everything was very low. Pool - big and clean, but painfully noisy. Beach-OK, but better to have shoes. Internet - only in a noisy bar area. Bar - very poor, but coffee was good. Weekends are full with noisy, voracious locals.

My husband and I have just returned from Club Amigo Ancon 15 minutes away from the historic town of Trinidad. Much of the resorts rooms are unavailable but the 120 tropical rooms are available. Our room was simple but clean, air conditioning worked well and a lovely hot shower ( which was appreciated greatly after having no hot water for 2 weeks in another resort).. For the first of the two weeks we had all meals in the main dining room with great staff and sufficient food. However in our second week the resort was down to 83 guests and guests were moved into a smaller restaurant ( one of the al a carte restaurants which were not be utilized) . Food was definitely less selection , no butter like the first week, less vegetables ,no four types of rice etc) . There is no wine of either type and if you do wish it you must purchase it in the wine store found in the resort. We tended to eat lunch at the snack bar due to selection of food and the two cooks were fantastic and also made plantain chips, croquettes and sandwiches. The beach was lovely and the water stunning. Unfortunately there were many smokers and used the beach as their ashtray . Palapas and beach chairs were in good condition and plentiful. Nightly entertainment was fine but very repetitive. We wanted to say thankyou to the staff at the snack bar who always played cuban music and at a great level of volume. Any one going to this resort has to visit the historic town of Trinidad which can be accessed by the hop on hop off bus daily. Overall the trip was a success and would go back . ( but bring snacks and condiments to fill out the menu).

We have a 3-week trip planned for the end of March, which seemed so far off. Saw an amazing rate at this property so figured we would give it a try. Our expectations were minimal ... sand, sun, and clean facilities. The resort did not disappoint! While the property does require an update, we were completely satisfied with our stay. Staff was great, the beach superb, and the food was adequate. I rated the rooms as fair but only due to the decor, they were very clean. I understand that everyone has different levels of expectations, some fussier than others, therefore I would not recommend this to others, but I would return in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed this resort. Beach was nice and steps from our room. Staff were very friendly and helpful what ever we needed. Food was actually good mostly plentiful. The buildings are in need of repairs but apparently renovations are beginning soon. Drinks were a issue choice was limited but overall we liked the place with close access to Trinidad.

The Memories Trinidad resort is a bit older and is holding up pretty well for it's age compared to some older Cuban resorts. The public areas are nice, the beach is great but no better than many others in the Cayos. When I went, the price was awesome and there was no single supplement. In terms of value, Memories can't be beat if you want a week of sun. The rooms badly needed refurbishing but the beds were comfortable (for Cuba) and the patio door worked and locked properly. My safe was useless as the door was missing but others said theirs was good. My room was full of mosquitos and small black midges that seemed to be coming from the bathroom vent. I killed a few dozen, wore deet and kept the bathroom door shut. I had a problem with the key card late one night that refused to work. After an hour of walking back and forth to reception, they jimmied the lock and gave me a new room. It's typical Cuban to inconvenience the client rather than fix the problem. The next morning my maid called for maintenance to put in a new battery and reprogram the lock. In the end, I didn't move but others had the same problem and moved. The problem with Cuba is that your new room could easily have worse problems than your old one, so it's best not to move if it can be avoided. The buffet had lots of food but it's the same monotonous thing every meal. There was no pasta station, fresh fish, minimal fresh vegs., hamburgers or fries that I saw. The fish was frozen tilapia which I ate most lunches as I found the chicken or pork was either over or under cooked. Sometimes, there were line-ups to get in and the resort was nowhere near full. There were birds in the indoor buffet so if that bothers you, beware. That is common in many Caribbean resorts but very rare in the better ones. Most nights I went to the a la carte upstairs and it was similar food, just quieter and served to you. The a la carte is free but you need to book it and they did offer free lobster 2 nights. once it was undercooked and I could only eat some of it and once it was badly overcooked. Typically, service is OK as they have lots of servers but they spend more time walking around directionless and service can sometimes be very slow. The beach was nice but beware of sand fleas if you are sensitive to their bites. I loaded up my legs with deet and still got eaten. Amazing how many others get nothing. The beach bar was open but not the beach restaurant. I would have given an extra star if it was open. After all, stars are based on services offered and there is no excuse not to have it open at least some of the time. There is also a BBQ area near the beach, also unused. Beach BBQs may be inconvenient for staffing but they are a huge plus for customer happiness. There always seemed to be plenty of loungers at the beach and pool but the pool was not used much. There was typical entertainment for only one night and that's when a busload of Chinese tourists came for one night. I'm not big on entertainment and I was happy that the DJ didn't blast music all day and night. I'm there to relax and unwind and too much loud music at many resorts is a real turn-off. The bars were mostly all open. They use cheaper rum but the cigar lounge at the reception area has better rum if you can handle the smoke. It has to be consumed in that room. I did a day trip to Trinidad and it's well worth the US$5. return bus fair. You will get pestered to buy anything they can sell you but just be polite and keep moving. I downloaded the Google map of the area before I left and it really helps to find you way back to the bus stop. You don't need data for that to work as it locates by GPS which is not as accurate but very close. In dozens of trips to Cuba & Caribbean resorts I have never been sick. On day 6, I got explosive diarrhea from something I ate at the resort. No, it was not drinking too much or too much sun and I heard that someone else had the same problem. It ruins one whole day of your vacation and is caused by someone in one of the restaurants not being careful enough. More training is needed behind the scenes. Overall, I've been to many Cuban resorts that are much better and a few that are worse. I give realistic ratings based on when I was there and that can change quickly in Cuba. The staff, with only a few exceptions, were very happy to serve you and only 2 asked for tips. I would say that Memories Trinidad had some of the nicest staff I have encountered in Cuba. I have always been frustrated that Cuban resorts could really bring the satisfaction above DR and Mexico but the system seems to be unable to make those simple changes. For a cheap week in the sun, Memories is worth it. If you are picky, I'd suggest going elsewhere. Cuba is always more enjoyable if you go with low expectations.

we have been to Racho Luna off and on since 2009 and this is the last time...what has changed? no eggs for breakfast no roast turkey, pig or chicken once a week. the morning cook doing the pan cakes flattens them once they start to raise up so you get hard cakes not pancakes juice jugs but no glasses 4 times we had to go look for plates and or bowls ice cream was being served one day but no glasses or spoons exhaust fan did not work in bathroom so there was lots of BLACK MOLD on the walls and ceiling, yuck.... the doors were hard to open and close as they drag on the ground ,,,,,most of the staff were fine and it was nice to meet some old friends, the grounds and beach were still in good shape.

Stayed at this resort with my family over Christmas and New Years.The three hour bus ride from the airport was on a comfortable bus with ac and washroom.Before writing about the hotel I want to give some advice on currency.Only bring US dollars and do not exchange for pesos! The Cubans prefer to deal in US dollars and with it you will get the best value.Some places such as the airport don't even accept pesos and even where they do you get a better value with US dollars.You get a terrible exchange rate with Canadian dollars so leave them at home. The hotel is a good value but don't bring 5 star expectations or you will be disappointed! Beach is nice and very long, we never had a problem with lawn chairs.Pool is good with lots of chairs as well but no swim up bar. Buffet and snack bar are basic but we always found something we liked. Service was a little slow but it was never busy enough to really matter. Entertainment was good and the shows were basic but fun, perhaps they could turn the volume down a notch or 2.Sander was a particularly good host and had us feeling included the whole time.Rooms are basic but acceptable.Always had hot water.There were the usual flaws for this star rating in Cuba as in some lively red ants, fiddly locks( keys, no cards) and occasional toilet malfunctions.We did however have amazing ocean and sunset views from the third floor. Scuba diving is quite good on the nearby coral reef and an exceptional value at $35 US per dive including equipment! Overall a good time and value just bring realistic expectations considering the star rating!

I’m considered a regular. Quite tranquil location. Away from Cienfuegos but close enough to visit the interesting town. The staff never fails to make you feel at home. Service with a smile and cleaning is always punctual

The service in the hotel is mediocre, probably lacking the staff especially in the restaurant. Sometimes it is difficult to find the clean table. Due to the current issues in Cuba coffee is only available in the morning before 10am. On the other hand people are very friendly the room is good and cleaned regularly. As I am a repeat guest. I do not expect much and that is what’s expected.the pool was empty 5 out of 7 day stay. No pop, coffee or beer, only rum. The food is very basic and repetitive. The rooms and bathrooms have mold. The staff is very friendly. The grounds are well maintained. The rooms are cleaned daily to the best the cleaning crew can provide. Overall there is something about this place that has be coming back. Must be the staff ?

Well maintained grounds and garden, nice swimming pool. Clean rooms with all necessary supplies for the tourists. Beautiful sandy beach good for sunbathing as well as for walking. There are two bars one near the beach, other in lobby of the hotel. Only live Cuban band was missing ?

This resort is in the process of improving itself from the ground up,,,,,,,We were in this place many times before Covid .Every thing was better than now. We hope that this beautiful place will attract more customers to this place again.

Well, we have just completed our 3rd trip to Rancho Luna since November of 2023. Pleased to say that all our expectations were met as usual. The food was adequate as was the beer except for running out only for a short time, but that was over a 2 week span. Staff and service were excellent as always. Can't wait to return again in November of 2024

A week of February 23, easy, quick transit from the airport. Easy check in. Standard room modest , bathroom outdated but all working. Very comfortable bed. Modest buffet food but tasty. Nice, clean facility, nice lobby, drinks very limited, coffee bellow average. You pay for your Wifi. 40 hours $ 8.00. Small but nice beach, absolutely amazing coast line between the hotel beach and public beach. Staff ok but not happy. Cienfuegos worth to see. beautiful. An excellent food and drinks, bars and entertainment. Paid $ 715 a person, worth every penny.

Best of the Best I loved everything about the resort except the entertainment was limited, Service, cleaning, food, drinks and the people happy to serve you with a big smile unfortunately it's an Underrated resort as per the review years back!! We were 6 people (friends and family) and had a great time. Customer service was great as all staff were super happy to serve us. Cleanliness was paramount as it never stopped throughout the day. Food is relatively good compared to other resorts that we visited lately. There is always something there to eat. Beach was so nice and sandy. Internet was available and FREE at the lobby only; however, the signal was so strong Entertainment was limited to a couple of nights only.

I Think this hotel is much better than the rating and previous reviews, looks like there were some upgrading and renovation done. we were a group of 6 people in 3 different room, all 3 rooms were very clean, one of the room had issue with hot water but they fixed it 2 hrs after we asked them. there was one international Resturant , the food was very good, food choices were not that much but they had enough choices, one of the best rice and chicken I ever had in Cuba was at this resort, there were enough veggies and few sweet choices and ice cream. most of the nights there were entertainments, I was out side of the resort for 2 nights ( not sure about showed then) pool side was very quite, no entertainments ( likely due to little number of guests I guess) the staff was amazing, the beach is one of the best and being close to Trinidad is a Bingo, lots of attractions and activities were around bottom line it is not a huge resort with multiple selection of restaurants, sports and food, but there were enough of everything , and much better than previous rating, I personally don’t mind to go back

My name is Ross. Just came from vacation at Rancho Luna hotel. Please, pay attention to my message. 1. I got a vicious food poisonings at the beach restaurant and was lying in my room for 6 days and nights. I suspect from a fried fish. They don't clean properly guts of a fish and thus is a cause of a stomach poisonings. also, few others canadian tourists were rushed to a city hospital and stayed there for a week 2. Local cuban people, who come to a hotel for a day - they steal food at the restaurant in very large quantities putting into their bags. 3. Also, local cuban people bring a large capacities thermoses and walk from one bar to another and bartenders dispense a large quantities of beer into a those people's thermoses, and also bartenders give them alcohol drinks, such as rom Havana Club and others, which I consider that is a theft as well. Stealing food, beer and alcohol by locals - can lead to a future price increases for canadian tourists 4. A guy on the beach, named Neilson, solicits money from tourists for free water sports equipment and also solicits tourist for bringing him beer in his own large thermoses. This Neilson also lets local people, who come to the beach from Cienfuegus use water sports pedal boats and catamaran and people pays him money. Also, he demand money from local vendors to sell something to tourists on the Rancho Luna beach. This was told us by locals. This is a pure extortion, like a local mafia. Last time we were there in SEPTEMBER, 2023 - this guy Neilson deliberately sailed his catamaran over a head of our friend Arthur and almost hit him in his head, because Arthur did not give him a money for using a pedal boat. ALL ABOVE LISTED MUST BE STOPPED. Regards. Ross.

we stay 2 weeks amazing people, employees very polite the rooms are clean but need revamping, safe needs work every room but was not !!!!, (our do not have door) 1st week big problem with waters, just a little cold waters not warm, 2nd week no warm water food always the same and for dinner cold example -pasta the beautiful beaches and see water entertainment not interesting, nothing from culture and historical Cuban and very late 9:30 pm should be at 9 pm because in resort is most old people.

Beach nice. Lots of umbrelas and sits. Water warm and clean. Food good, but always cold specialy pasta and meats. Resort tight , everywhere close. Entertiment very low quality. Staff very low english, but very frendly. Room - first week no cold water, second week no hot water.

The hotel is great. Very clean and service crews seem to be cleaning and maintaining 24/7 other than running out of coffee and toilet paper, we were accommodated the best possible way considering some interruptions in the supply chain

Amazing people, the food is good but always the same. The rooms are clean. The restaurants are ok. The beach is Wow! It's old but so welcoming. The drinks are amazing and the entertainment are goods. I really like my trip there

As always the staff were happy to see us again. The food and beverage selection was pretty good (Cuba) Unfortunately the alacart was not available. Room was clean and comfortable, but Please paint the rooms.

This was our 25 th trip to Rancho Luna. Shannon at Tripcentral gave us a lot of helpful tips before leaving. Our room had two new queen beds, new air conditioner, great view. The entertainment was not as loud as previous years, so got good sleep. All staff were friendly and helpful. We have 10 hours free wifi per person per week which was a nice surprise. Hair dryer in the bathroom was a first. Hot showers, every evening.

The renovated Club Amigos is beautiful place. Beach is so close and most days super clear and great for snorkeling. Sundowns are beautiful to watch from the beach or oceanfront rooms. This is now a 3 star hotel with potential to be great. Most guests you talk to have been there multiple times. Stuff is accommodating and friendly. Planning to go back next year.

We spent a week in this resort. It was an inexpensive holiday and we did not have high expectations. This is a small, quiet resort with very nice gardens and a shallow pool (max 3ft deep) located right on the beach on the Alcon peninsula. The beach is beautiful and the water warm although not as clear as the North shore. And the sunsets on the ocean are magnificent. It takes 2.5 hours to get from the airport to the resort and there is no stop, so be warned. The ride is quite nice through the lush mountains of Cuba. We booked a Superior Room, Diamond Club (Sunwing). We are not sure it was worth it as the rooms were very dated, some had mould, none had hot water pressure, many did not have working bed side lighting... It seems that there might be renovated rooms but they were not offered to us, although we were relocated to a room where the toilet flushed after asking Guest Services for a functioning room. Not their fault, Cuba is in crisis and it is difficult to get anything there. The staff cannot go to the hardware store, the shelves are bare everywhere. There are not many activities and entertainment at the resort, but the local band called Son Horizontes is absolutely charming. There was a little beach party at sunset one evening and paella on the beach once at lunch time. We were provided fresh bottled water everyday and there was always plenty of food, although very monotonous after a few days as there were shortages of items. Be warned that there are no cereals and no yogourt at all. The staff was always very accommodating and welcoming. The beach had a lot of sand fleas which was a real problem for me. American 1$ bills for tips seem to be preferred over many other currencies. We visited beautiful Trinidad that is a bus ride away from the resort. I recommend bringing the people some goodies such as Summer clothes, sunglasses, OTC medication, sunscreen, granola bars, candies, etc... They are quite poor, cannot get many of these items and they are very happy when they receive gifts. Reminder, you should bring the following for yourself: - all medication you require including OTC meds, as you might not be able to find it there. - bug repellent, allergy med, anti-itch cream...because of the nasty sand fleas and some mosquitoes - some toilet paper as it might be lacking in some public places, including the airport - Hand sanitizer as it is not provided anywhere we went All in all, we had a good week, it was quite inexpensive, but we would not go back.

Stayed at the resort from January 7 to January 14. 2023. Paid $ 800.a person. Memories Trinidad, formally Brisas Trinidad is a really nice resort with a beautiful Ancon beach, with a good food, the two ala carte restaurants and the buffet Good all over service. Only negative thing were outdated bathrooms, problems with water pressure as well as problems with warm water.

Beds were comfortable. Rooms small but clean... My friends enjoyed themselves... Guests were very social.... Facilities were satisfactory... Lots of variety of food...Enjoyed our stay AGAIN... Great job for a 2.5 star resort...

The rooms were disgusting you couldnt even use the shower also mold and bed bugs everywhere. 18 of us got sick on their food i ended up in hospital in Cuba then again here in Canada been sick for seven days lost 22 lbs dehydrated twice. Worst vacation I have ever experienced in my life.

Well my teenage son and I had a really good time. Very inexpensive, good staff, fun guests and decent Cuban-style food. The beach was not too good - a tad grassy, but just to the west about a half mile is the Faro Luna beach with great swimming, restaurants snack shacks and cheap n creamy Pina colattas. Two hours from the airport, too bad, but travelled in daylight, an instructive scene. Recommended at the price.

Over all good.nice beech, The only problem is that they sprinkle pork meat on almost on every food that becomes a problem for vegetarians people like me. Hindus are vegetarians .Jews , Muslims and some Christians don't eat pork

The hotel is clean but dated. Minor improvements (paint) no significant changes. One concern I have is that the majority local guest, although very pleasant. It seems they have preference over international guests because they communicate in Latin with the hotel staff better .I.e restaurant The one thing I would change is the pool MC just entertains loud games on speakers at a time when most guest go back to the room to take a nap before dinner

This is the first resort I see no beers and soft drinks for one week . I will never go back again . Staff is very nice . They cannot do anything because they have nothing to give to the tourists. No toilet tissues in any toilet in the pool or lobby area . It is bad .

We have been here many times before. Every effort is made to upgrade this resort. Despite shortages and challenges efforts are made by staff in all areas to make the stay a pleasant one!!!! One thing that was missing was the bus transportation to the city. IN the past we found this feature very convenient and certainly missed it on this visit,

Amazing food, staff, and the resort! I spent there the end of the August of 2023. Local staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is the best compare to the other Cuban resorts. Trinidad Memories Del Mar is located a round the mountains which makes this resort spectacular beautiful.

Typical Cuban hotel 1. Weather, 10 from 10. There were no rains. All the days were sunny, easy breeze, 23-30C. All the days were the same. 2. Food. Pretty typical, enough for me: fish, beef, pork, chicken, real fruits and vegetables. Not much of those famous Cuban mixes of yesterday’s leftovers. Not many “bottle necks” creating the lines to most desirable food. 3. Room. Usual Cuban desperate fighting for support out-off-dated equipment without investments. Water is running: you cannot say there is no water at all. TV shows something. AC works good for me. No insects: this says about cleanness. My bed was good. All the staff open your electronic lock freely whenever they want. WiFi works. All my fifteen or so, problems were solved by staff easily. 4. Public. There are many Cubans there, majority. They are not that hungry or greedy as ten years ago. But they are so loud. Talking like from 50 meters distance. Plus evenings entertainment happens at artillery level of noise. Flimsy plywood doors work as passive diaphragms. Your head works as a resonator! That is how they like it. Request a room as far as possible from that place of local music. 5. The pool is very shallow. It marked 80cm, but it is not. Snack bar effectively try not to deliver snacks. Locals load their huge mugs with beer. 6. Beach. Sand, not much weeds, a bit murky quiet water. There is enough shadow! It is fine for relaxation. The thing it is a populated public beach, not separated. Local beggars start the song “where-are-you-from” all the time. 7. You can buy water, rum, cigarettes and cigars. The end of the list. 8. There is coral reef at 700 meters from the shore. But in 3 kilometres to the North West it approaches to100 meters. Good place for advanced swimming.

Staff where more than helpful . Food was good in general .Rooms are. Dated need to be upgraded.pool and pool bar where alright but bar did have enough tables and chairs lots lounge chairs.beach and buffet in general was good .the beach was not good ocean full of weeds and not that big . For the price I paid I would go back. Good value for what I spent.

They try so hard! Food was varied and plentiful, some renovations to the rooms (new air conditioners, some paint), staff was generally very pleasant and helpful. The place was nearly empty so the beach bar was hardly used. The beach was fine. I have been there MANY times and would not recommend it to young people. Most tourists are older and regulars. The entertainment was minimal, and the entertainment director is a young fellow who should NEVER been issued a mic! The city seemed so sad. Most galleries and the bigger bars were closed. Very little to buy, though some artisana. No music! I would recommend this place to anyone who has been to Cuba and does not expect luxury. Money issues were interesting. No one wanted Cuban pesos. I brought US one dollar bills and Canadian fives as tips and taxi fares. Credit cards in most stores.

The resort is lovely. Rooms, grounds, beach and dining all were just fine. Being Cuba, of course there will be something in your room that should have been replaced a long time ago, and there will always be some item of food or drink that is temporarily unavailable. No big deal. The beach is spectacular, and the water beautifully warm and calm for swimming. The calm doesn't quite extend to outside the resort, however. And getting off the resort is why many people go to Trinidad. There were many arguments on the Trini bus as they now want your credit card for the fare, and most folk were unwilling. There were several blackouts in the town during the day...no coffee! And at night, trying to deal with those old broken streets in total blackness is dangerous. Sitting in the waiting lounge at the airport, we experienced a 15 minute blackout which doesn't exactly inspire confidence. My biggest beef is about the money. The money exchange at the bank gives you the official rate, but you will be charged the unofficial rate at any restaurant, bar, taxi etc, and that is almost double. $1 U.S. bills are good for tips, larger bills not wanted. You can usually pay with Euros or Canadian money, but any change owed is given in pesos. And, the crowning glory.... at the airport money exchange, I was refused when I tried to change back some surplus pesos, despite having been told by the Cadeca employee at the hotel that this was where to do it. "It's not possible" was the excuse at the airport.What country doesn't want its own money back?? Also, nothing at the airport can be bought in pesos. So, a giant mess regarding money, and a general feeling that things are getting worse. At the same time, a huge new Melia hotel is almost ready to open on the peninsula.

The hotel has many features that are not used. Whatever is broken, they leave it broken. Room towels has plenty of stain, old, really small. No information is provided. A one pager listing the services will.be appreciated. Please buy a coffee and milk carafe, instead of asking the guests to use a huge soup service spoon.. buy coffee cups instead of using plastic cup to serve coffee.

On registration, we were not given the list of activities, restaurant's, etc, so we were constantly asking for information. On the weekends, the hotel employees had their friends/families stay for the weekend. This was nothing more than a drunken affair along with prostitutes that were permitted into the resort. The internet service was lousy, constantly requiring the front desk to log us in, sometimes 3 or 4 times per day. Food, for example cheese, would run out at the snack bar, but was available in the cafeteria, but no one would go and see if it was available. The lifeguards were not really lifeguards, who paid little attention to the beach activities, but were more interested in exchanging currency, and/or selling rum and other items. There was no representative from Tripcentral to help in the return private car service, on anyone else to help. This resort lacks upper management control, as there seems to be no control at all, however, the cuban workers were very friendly, helpful, and not too demanding in their request for clothing, etc. The food was monotonous, as many places in Cuba, except for the international hotels.

Grounds well kept. Food was good However the rooms need revamping The room I stayed in was old and the washroom was not done properly. The bathtub need some work. Please upgrade the rooms. The staff should be able to speak a little English.

Once again we had a fabulous experience during our latest visit Feb 21 to March 3rd/23. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was always smiling and the weather was perfect. A Perfect Stay!!! I really had a great vacation. The Memories Trinidad del Mar in Cuba is a human size resort with staff that make you feel welcome and provide a 5-star service. The rooms are clean and very near the beach. Make sure to say Hi to Sophia at the snack bar, she’s the best! Hotel is located on the great Ancon peninsula! 4km long, clean-not-over-crowded beach with palms and trees with a background view of the Sierra Escambray montain range and astonishing sunsets … Very Close to old colonial city of Trinidad - just a short taxi ride away (ask Osman to reserve) that has tons to offer: Good restaurants, arts and shops and great music venues, like La Casa de la Musica – “a must-go-to” for a real taste of Cuban culture. Not to far away is the entrance to El Cubano, a Unesco natural reserve heritage site where you can do and see all sort of things. The only down-side if you are coming from the Santa Clara Airport is the 2-hour long drive through the Sierra … but it was worth it and I will definitely return.

We have been coming to this resort for many years and we think the food was the best it has been. The grounds are beautiful. Very helpful staff (Idalmys, Jose, Irenia, Osmani & Uni). The maid service is excellent.

Enjoyed my stay at Rancho Luna from Jan 31st to Feb 7th, 2023.. Everything was good, except the Reception Desk and Resort Store needs to accept cash payments (USD, CAD, UK Pound or Euros). Misplaced my backpack upon return from my day trip, and the Reception Lady returned it to me with everything in it. Went to the Guest Relation personnel to track down the honest Reception Lady from the night before to give her some gifts and to show my appreciation for her honesty, but was disappointed that the Guest Relation Lady was unable to locate her.

Classic Cuban building design laid out like a mini-Trinidad! Visually stunning. Beautiful grounds. Gorgeous location. Great beach. Friendly, efficient staff. Yummy food. Good activities - special lunch on the beach on Fridays, volleyball, dance and Spanish lesson, house band...

Very nice hotel. Employees were polite and very attentive. The grounds were well maintained and the hotel itself was sparkling clean. The dining room offered more variety of foods than you can imagine. The beach itself was very clean. This was my first time at this resort and I would certainly go back again.

This hotel is a nice place to get away and enjoy some sun and quiet time.An older hotel but always striving for betterment everywhere and everyday.They worked so hard to fill their guests with the best hospitality.Food is Cuban cuisine and fresh daily.Sometimes limited to what is in seasonal produce.Very clean and always trying to make you feel comfortable.I had a piece of luggage left at airport.The staff were very friendly and helpful.I was so impressed and grateful for all their helping.I will definitely go back to Hotel Rancho Luna 🙏🇨🇺♥️

I found the hotel to be nice and clean. It looked as so It had been redone lately, but the staff were just great,I don't think I have incountered better in my many travels. The food was good,but just a few things were missing like any kind of cereal and there wasn't a French fry to be found. All day pizza was good. Over all I would say it was good value for the money. The only downside was the 2 hour ride from the airport.

Rancho Luna has been obviously upgraded from our last visit about 30 years ago. It is basic, but clean, well-designed, and has excellent beach and pool. It is about 20 minutes by taxi to the interesting city of Cienfuegos, and also to the Cienfuegos Botanical Gardens, where we happened to see the tzuntzunjito (bee-hummingbird), the smallest bird in the world. Sorry that we did not have time to get back to Playa Jiron and the Cienaga de Zapata, the wonderful national park.

Long trip, 2-3hrs from Santa Clara to the resort. But beautiful scenery and get a feel for rural life and small villages in the interior of Cuba. The overall experience turned out to be decent after a bit of a rough start. There were short comings regarding paying extra for the "Diamond Club" service. 1. While we had an ocean view room, we did not get a king bed which is strange since the resort was far under capacity, we had 2 twins 2. The civer sheet on one bed had what appeared to be dried blood on it. It was never changed during our stay, surely the chamber maid should've have noticed. 3. There is no exclusivity for diamond club patrons at the beach and rarely did the staff come to see if any of the individuals there wanted a drink. Overall not a big deal since we all enjoyed the walk to the beach bar, but why advertise the service if you aren't going to provide it. Frankly, I don't care about the area being identified as "exclusive" or "special" by ropes or barriers (that just draws unwanted attention), but surely they could dress up the raised beach beds with cover sheets and sheets for shade. 4. We did not receive a welcome drink when we checked in as advertised. Gabriel was an excellent professional manager. Humberto at the front desk needs to smile and be more friendly, we did not receive a good first impression when we arrived. 5. The servers were generally pleasant throughout, however, they don't understand how to serve upgraded clientel in a exclusive setting ie in the dining room. I would have to ask for the Salt and pepper and tobasco every single morning, even though the same staff served us daily. Anywhere else it would be at the table already or shortly after sitting. Only one of them was very friendly and outgoing (a male by the name of Reimer), the ladies serving us only occasionally smiled and did not appear like they wanted to be there. We tipped everyone everywhere throughout the resort everyday regardless of the service. 6. They only offered the a la carte restaurant one night the whole week. That was disappointing. The meal was decent so it would've been nice to have 2 more nights of a la carte as advertised for the diamond club upgrade. We went into town to eat. Positive points: Private car from airport to resort and back. Well kept grounds. Beach is beautiful as is the ocean. Relatively clean. Although I picked up many empty beer cans and plastic cups daily walking the beach. if you really like snorkeling, cienfuegos is much better. Lots of lounge chairs (but the resort was no where close to capacity). Food selection and quality was better than expected for Cuba. Staff at the outdoor sports bar were all excellent, especially Rachel, Aila and Islander (not sure if I spelled their names correctly). Water sports crew were all excellent. Claudia and Manuel at beach bar were very accommodating, attentive and friendly. The outdoor BBQ lunch held on the beach was great, they should do that twice a wk. The dinner reservation fellow was very friendly and spoke good English. Also helped with ideas of place to go and things to see. The pool was decent, although a bit chilly (got better as the week went on), the hot water spouts were great. Never ran out of toilet paper any where which was a pleasant surprise (we brought lots of our own in case - gave it away). The pizza at the snack bar was good, staff there also very good. The evening shows were well done for such a small resort, it's unfortunate there weren't more clients attending. The store x2 and pharmacy are decent, we used all 3 of them. The selection of upgraded liquor was probably the most notable benefit of the Diamond Club service. Although sometimes they forgot to serve us from that selection, we would have to remind them. Bring bug spray and anti-itch products for the tiny sand flies that come out when the wind dies down - everyone had lots of bites and they are very itchy! But the gorgeous beach is worth it. Be nice if they had the funds to fog every few days.

This hotel is situated on a very lengthy stretch of sandy beach, much of which is still undeveloped and bordered only with tropical vegetation. The beach is well suited to swimming and long walks. The hotel grounds are attractive, with palm trees and pretty gardens. A tower beside the restaurant offers panoramic views of the Ancon Peninsula and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Food at the buffet restaurant was plentiful and staff were careful about hygiene. At times, the supply of plates and glasses and spoons did not seem to be adequate to meet the demand. The city of Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is accessible by means of a double-decker tourist bus that travels between the hotel and the city four times daily. The bus journey takes approximately 30 min and a return ticket costs $5 EUR. Trinidad offers colourful colonial architecture, cobbled streets traversed by vintage cars and horse-drawn carts and wagons, a variety of small museums, artisans' shops, and street entertainers. The Sierra Escambray mountains are visible from the Memories Trinidad Del Mar resort and hiking tours can be arranged to explore the national park and waterfalls. The Memories Trinidad Del Mar resort would suit a traveller who wants to combine beach activities in a peaceful setting with nearby historical and cultural attractions and nature appreciation.

We just got back from our trip to Memories Trinidad Del Mar. Three years ago, we visited this hotel before Covid. At the time, there were very few customers there, however, this hotel becomes a very popular resort and there are lots of customers this time. Despite the increase in volume of customers, there are no shortage of foods. We would recommend other customers to try out their soup and shrimps which are so fresh and tasty. We are also very with the abundance of papaya which is our most favourite fruit. The waiters and waitresses at the dining room are all very nice and are out to please the customers. To name a few, Jelani, Reinier etc. (my spelling may be wrong), they are all eager to serve you with whatever you need. One particular person that makes our trip most memorable and enjoyable is Gabriel at the reception/front desk. We had never seen such a hardworking and pleasant person in a resort who will relentlessly assist the customers in solving all kinds of issues. Although his official hour is 8-5 but at times he would stay until 11:00 pm as he wanted to ensure that the problems are all resolved in a fast and efficient way before he goes home. We would like to commend him to his supervisors/managers for his superb customer service.

We totally enjoyed our stay at Memories Trinidad Hotel. Staff were helpful even if you can't speak Spanish. Rooms were spotless, and effectively cleaned everyday. Plenty of bars, coffee bars and after hour snack bars available. Grounds were updated and well maintained..and well lite at nite. Dining was always a pleasure, greeted with lots of smiles. All staff wore masks, and every station for there was an attendant that served the food you requested onto your plate. (not everyone handling the spoons or touching the food yourself) waiters and waitress were there to bring whatever you requested. Excellent service..and tips are always welcomed. They preferred Canadian or Euros, and any small donation was always appreciated. Except coins. They are hard workers, and dedicated to please all who were visitors to their country. They have a few pools, hot tub, spas..and a beautiful beach with chairs and towels provided, and a bar cabana steps away. What else can you ask for beach, blue skies and beer. Now that's a vacation. They also have taxi and busses that go into town, Trinidad an old cobblestone city over 500 years old. Something to see only 12 klm away. We loved it there, and have no reservation to go back again in the new year...loved it.

This is a good resort at the price point. The beach was excellent, approximately 2 to 3 klm long, beige sand and mostly empty. The staff were friendly and service was generally good. Staff with Hola Tours and Sunwing were always on site and would assist you regardless of which company you booked with. Everything I required was available at the resort. Quiet areas were also available at the resort; the main area often had the music blaring, but there were other areas, including the beach, if you did not want the constant music. With tourism re-opening the resort was spending a lot of time and effort to update the resort, but no construction noise. The food was acceptable. I see many reviews that are critical of the food in Cuba. The food is not as good as it is in Europe or some higher priced beach destinations, but at this price point the food was acceptable. The one critical item I have is the bus ride from Santa Clara airport, almost 3 hours avoiding lots of potholes and lots of slower traffic. This to travel about 115 klm. Hopefully once the other resorts re-open and the new resort is completed there will be sufficient volume to warrant a flight into Cienfuegos or better yet Trinidad (needs a runway about 1,000 ft longer).

We had been there for a week, resort is clean, staff is friendly, food is cuban. For sure the best parts of resort are beach, sun, and ocean. They are beautiful. Snorkeling is 20$ for 1 hour trip to riffs or you can see a lot of fish along the shore. Visitors are from all over the world come and go every day. Trip to Trinidad is not for everyone, impression is sad. I would recommend enjoying the vacation at resort. Keep in mind, that the road from Santa Clara airport to hotel takes 2.5-3 hours.

Lovely grounds, beach rooms etc. Staff were all very accommodating. The buffet was acceptable, if a bit repetitive at times. Everything was very clean. Buffet staff were all wearing masks. The bus leaves for Trinidad 4 times daily, 5 euros per round trip. In Trinidad there is music, dancing and restaurants, although some had closed. There are signs everywhere of resurgence; a large new Melia hotel is being built nearby, and stores that were closed had renovations going on. I would definitely go again.

Staff always kept things clean as possible. Doing excellent job with little they have . Staff friendly... what do you expect from a 2+ star? Put an elastic around your head and "SNAP" out of it...😎😁🍒🤯

Rancho Luna has made many updates to their resort since the pandemic. Many of the rooms have been updated - new mattresses, flat screen tvs, new air conditioning units, hair dryers installed and new tiling in bathrooms. Some of the pavilions have been updated as well. The restaurant on the beach is amazing and so beautiful. Additional seating has been added as well as patio furniture in attached private areas. This restaurant is now a la carte so you need to make a reservation. The resort has a generator so the rotating power outages will not affect the activities offered. Staff are friendly and do their best to accommodate

We had a very difficult time to get towels in room 2 the 2nd day none all week the night before leaving I took all towels to front deck and told them I was putting the hotel on a don't go list They had the maid meet me at the room with clean towels The hotel staff now treat you like they do not want you to you to come back If you want to enjoy Cuba GO TO GUARDLAVACA

The grounds were well kept. Daily staff were constantly on the move trimming the trees, grass etc. Bars were busy but well staffed so wait times were minor. The pool was clean and bright, well kept but shutting it down at 6pm was just annoying. Housekeeping staff were on the job nicely. Room was always made up promptly. Rooms are big and bright with an ample balcony and two nice chairs.It was however lacking a table that would have made the balcony great. The staff in the buffet are awesome always on top of things. The food was decent for all inclusive fare. If you want to experience Cuban food go into Trinidad.

Hotel/Resort is very GOOD. Management working hard. Manager OLGA doing her best to improve services. But -Music TOO LOUD.(during the day and in the night) Night show is in UNBEARABLE. LOUD -Take Solicitors OUT OFF Hotel Beach Girls, Currency ex changers, Unlicensed massage therapists,etc putting TOO much pressure on canadian hotel guests.

Grounds, beach, pool are clean and neat. Rooms are clean but small. Some rooms have no fridge, so u have to ask for it. Food was good, but not fish. Lunchroom clean. Had to wear mask in lunchroom. Locals are 80% of guests. Good for the money u pay. This is Government hotel, not Spanish. Rainy season in May and June.

Heres what I think. The hotel was busy with lots of Cuban people that came to the hotel with no Pcr test like the tourist had to have coming to the hotel. The food was descent the drinks were good. Now about Hola Sun handle the COVID-19 testing.The testing was done on time for the results to be ready. But on the day to go to the airport they only had about 5 test results for about 15 people. On the way to the airport they stopped at a car on the way to airport and picked up a few more. We get to airport and not all people had results. At the airport 4 people get there results and I don't get mine. I miss my flight to go home. Next morning I get a knock on my door. They have my results a day late and inform me I'm positive. Then I spend a week of hell at a Cuban hotel hospital for tourist and heard many other horror stories. No one speaks English at the hospital. The travel agency and Hola sun holidays representive deserted me no one called or helped at all. My suggestion DON'T GO TO CUBA. It's a government of CUBA cash grab. Almost 2000 us dollars or 43000 Cuban national money. And you have to pay cash.

Covid precautions by the staff were good everyone wearing masks and proper hand cleaning. However i was concerned by many Cubans who were also staying at the hotel. I found out today that a tourist who had his. Cuban wife stay with him in the hotel contracted corona and he was not given his paperwork and was not allowed to fly home, however he did ride with us on the bus to the airport putting all of us at risk! Needless to say i am very concerned about the policies and procedures leading up to this possible catastrophe....... William

Memories Trinidad del mar is a lovely resort. Yes it's a 3 hour drive from the airport but there are so many sights to see along the way. And its location is ideal touring the surrounding country, especially the 500 yr old city of Trinidad. The resort architecture is built to mimic the colonial days of Cuba. Rooms are clean, staff is lovely and there is always room to sit at the beach or pool..in the shade or sun! You can walk for miles on the beach. This resort is not too big and never felt crowded.

Stayed at this hotel the week of Jan.11-18, 2020. Our room was clean and neat, the bathroom and tub was a little dated. The staff was fabulous, friendly accommodating and hard working. The food at the buffet was better than expected but the al la carte restaurants were not good. Ate at the buffet for 6 of 7 days. The pool area needs some updating, not many loungers and the hot tub was not in use(empty). The beach is beautiful. Had trouble with our door keys. Every other day the door key would not work so had to go to front desk to get new. Very inconvenient especially late at night, and we were on the second floor. It is close to Trinidad where you can have a nice meal and do many activities It is a basic no frills resort at a very reasonable price with beautiful weather, wonderful people and the drinks are always cold!

I’ve been to cuba over 40x’s and this hotel is an average run down Cuban hotel. The rooms were clean that’s all I really care about. The beach is amazing, the food is a different story lol but that’s Cuba, they try with what they have. The problem I have is with some of the staff, the look right at you and walk right on by and laugh and talk with other staff.....I stood at the snack bar one day for 20 min and then just walked away. The 24hr snack bar never had what they said they would but again that’s Cuba. Would I return to the hotel? Yes If I got a really really cheap deal and I would just go more prepared with snacks so I wouldn’t have to stand around for nothing. In all I had an awesome time and the weather was great!

Memories Trinidad is a great resort. This year we went with our daughter and son-in-law and we had an excellent time. The resort itself is amazing, it is clean and the staff is very dedicated to making your holiday worry free. The rooms were comfortable and kept very clean the had normal water pressure, the air conditioner worked and the beds were very comfortable. I cannot say enough about the staff, they are friendly, professional and do everything they can to meet our expectations. Idalmis and Jose at the lobby bar are a lot of fun and they go above and beyond. Frank is the entertainment and coordinated a "white party" most everyone at the resort participated and it was a great evening. Osmany is public relations and he is very helpful if you have any questions, if he doesn't know, he will make every effort to find the answer or help you any way he can. The food was very good. We have vacationed at this resort for many years and my husband commented that the food this year was the best it has ever been. Trinidad is an amazing city, we went in to the Trinidad twice this year, $10 CUC by taxi or there is a bus that will pick you up a the resort for $2 CUC. There is a restaurant called "La Botija" in Trinidad, worth the visit, the prices are excellent, the service is super and the food is great! Check them out on Facebook! The beach is stunning! The weather was perfect. We had a taxi driver tell us that Varadero was raining and chilly. Trinidad was hot and sunny the whole week we were there! All in all we had an absolutely wonderful holiday. I am going back in January to enjoy another great week! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone travelling to Cuba! You will not be disappointed.

We loved this hotel...its old..but well maintained with friendly staff..beautiful beach and pool..and close the 2 small fishing villages and a large city over 500 years old with cobble stone streets and stately architecture. For a real insite of Cuban flair..Trinidad is the place to visit. Loved our experience in Ancon..a place we love to visit

The grounds are ok, rooms are ok; pool is very good; the food is good but lack of variety, shortage of veggies and salads; the bar service and restaurant service is good; maids are always friendly. The entertainment is good. The beach is good.

They have painted, trimmed and never stop washing and cleaning. Their politeness and friendly attitude has always been #1. I am heading back in January 2020 for my 6th. time in 2 years. The biggest holdback is that Air Transat isn't using the Cienfuegos airport.

I have been to Rancho Luna 6 times. The resort is quite basic but clean. There is always something you can find to eat. Most of the staff are very good and I know most of them by their first names. They are always happy to see us and it is not just about the tips. The one thing I find disturbing and likely fatal is some Cubans butt into line and expect to get served before the other people waiting in line for coffee or beer at the lobby bar, the pool bar and the grill bar. Some bartenders do not allow them to butt in and serve people in order - other bartenders do allow Cubans to butt in. Twice when I was at the lobby bar for coffee on one wait Cubans butted in and were served before me - twice - very annoying. If the management allows this butting in by Cubans the tourism business in Cuba will crash faster than a 737 Max. No one likes arrogance and elitism. I will go back one more time and if it is still the same it will be my last. There are lots of places where all people are treated with dignity and respect.

This resort is all about location. It's an older and very basic hotel that doesn't pretend to be what it isn't, but the staff is very friendly and the room I had (superior room in the three story bungalows) was just perfect with an AMAZING view. Ancon beach is really beautiful with amazing sunsets, so you don't need a fancy hotel to appreciate the beach. The location close to Trinidad and to the mountains (and Topes de Colante park) is by far one of the main reason I was coming here. 15 minutes to Trinidad by taxi for 4 or 5 Cucs per person. My favorite city in Cuba One warning to everyone: They do not tell you this, but the blue beach towels in your rooms MUST NOT be lost otherwise you will have to pay 15 or 20 Cucs. Unlike other hotels where they have a ticket system for the towels, here they don't ...but they still apply the rule. I lost mine and was forced to pay 15 Cuc. As for the food, well it is very basic. Don't have high expectations, but you won't go hungry. Enjoy the best sunsets you might ever see.

You get what you pay for but then on the plane, we met people who paid the same but ended in a 4-star resort, ours was 2.5 at best. The buffet and the bars were missing basic basic basic stuff...like the toaster and the grill broke down, the coffee was served in plastic cups, the meat was coloured, no jam, butter was rare and the orange juice was sweet water, worse than Tang...the fish had a smell... The Cubans were drinking and eating in the pool. They were putting out their cigarettes and dirty plastic plates on the ground... The music was the same and usually loud. Our bathroom was moldy and the fan never worked. Paid extra for our seats on the airplane and got a family right behind us with screaming 2 and a 3 year old. We moved to the back of the plane next to the washrooms. We’ll be back!

I will keep this short, 3 complaints, food, rooms and drinks,,every night was mystery meat crazy looking food and tomato soup for the pasta sauce, only one burner worked on the toaster, no big deal because you have to find the butter, never mind looking for jam because there was none. snacks was little pizzas ugh and tuna sandwich which the cats did not even eat. The rooms safe never worked and the air conditioner controls where F%#ked,,The drinks wow no blender drinks not even a Mojito..no mint to be found...All in all good times

I traveled with five friends who have been to Rancho Luna in the past and with some reviews I traveled with no expectations for service or quality. The food quality was limited. If you are picky or fussy in even a little way you probably should go to a much more quality place or no even go to Cuba. The restriction on Cuba show up even greater in these lower end resorts/hotels. Food variety was very limited but there was rice, chicken, pork and pasta most days with good fresh breads. We changed rooms twice with things not working but they tried to help as much as possible. Many rooms are very old and dated but generally very clean. The beach was clean and safe with a nice bar/snack bar. Walking on the beach easy and safe with other areas to buy food not too far away. The large pool was better than expected and in good shape. The local Cuba guests did not treat the pool as would be expected but they were generally pleasant and most friendly. Entertainment and service was also limited but remember it is Cuba and you get what you pay for!!!

After rejecting first room (previous occupant a smoker) second was O.K. if on the small side for two. Clean but only one A/C setting, i.e. frigid. Took a few days to fix safe lock. Room service was good. Lots of food but of poor quality. Had to ask for some basics on several occasions. Restaurant staff were pleasant and friendly. Very good restaurants nearby. Bar service was satisfactory. Coffee inferior. Spacious grounds. Great beach although white sand a little rough. Don't be reluctant to seek help from Reception as they can be helpful and keep your local tour director informed of any problems encountered. If you can live with less than luxury the price and value of a one week vacation at RL would be tough to beat.

The hotel sits on a sprawling well maintained property on the S shore of central Cuba close to the city of Cienfuegos. The buildings and rooms are tired and need to be upgraded, and it looked like efforts were being made to improve. Our room was dark and musty and the bathroom was moldy. The hotel failed in the food department. Being an island state I was surprised that fresh fish/seafood was not readily available. Cold cuts and salads were being recycled on a daily bases and I was tired of eating rice as the staple side. The resort failed on the entertainment department. Perhaps the most disturbing part of my trip was seeing old “white” men who were unabashedly paired with young “Cuban” escorts giving the impression that this was a sex tourist destination. Given the current Cuban economic situation I understand the causes of these difficiencies but as a tourist my expectations were higher.

everything is very good, except 1) no bike rental 2) no free snorkeling both of them should have, depend on their advertising. Maybe I will have holiday there again.

The entire resort is getting a fresh appearance/ very appealing. The buffet was well stocked and sufficent choices.Al acarte dinners were excellent.Would like to see more english content in the entertainment.
