Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Wonderful Vacation!
Will return but won’t take the Preferred package as it wasn’t worth it. The Beach is amazing but people with mobility issues will struggle to get in and out of sea due to steep sandbank. Pools weren’t very clean and didn’t pass my sniff test (they didn’t smell like chlorine). The World Buffet had amazing food but atmosphere temp was too hot. No A/C nor ceiling fans. Stifling hot inside with ovens and grills going.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Beautiful Dreams Royal Beach
We had a wonderful stay at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana. Beautiful location, with a stunning beach, clear water (aside from some sargassum which it is the season for), and plenty of places to relax and enjoy our time away from home. Our room though a little old, was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better, shout-out to our beach bartender Ambiorix who was always coming making sure we had a cold drink in our hands. We also enjoyed the food (portofino, mercure, and seaside grill were very good) and the variety of activities (games, dancing and singing) and amenities available. Shout out to the entertainment team Yumi, Rissa, London, Tupac, Pikachu, Rosa, Geoffrey, and Baby face for running energetic dancing lessons and entertainment at the shows every night. We loved the circus and rock show. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for a getaway. There was some construction during our stay but it was handled very well and didnt interrupt guests. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would definitely consider coming back!

Dreams Curacao Resort Spa and Casino: Great Resort!
We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the resort. My wife and I had a great time from start to finish—the beach was beautifully maintained, with clean sand and stunning blue, crystal‑clear water full of vibrant fish. The entertainment throughout our stay was genuinely good, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. While the food was just OK, everything else more than made up for it. Overall, we had a great time and left with fantastic memories.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Good overall experience
Overall, this is a good resort and we had a pleasant experience. The food, location, pools, and facilities are all good. However, my main issue is the price. They charge a significant premium, around 20 to 30% more than many comparable resorts, but I honestly did not find the overall experience to be 20 to 30% better. A few things that stood out: 1. 24-hour room service: Having room service available 24 hours sounds like a great feature, but unfortunately the quality was disappointing when we tried it. The bread tasted like it was a couple of days old, and the coffee was very hit or miss. After that experience, I did not order room service again. 2. Pools: The pools are good, clean, and enjoyable, but they are similar to pools at many other resorts. I did not find anything particularly fancy or premium about them. 3. Water slides and activities: There are some extra slides and water features around the pools, which are nice to have. I tried them a couple of times and enjoyed them, but after that they did not really add much value to the overall experience for me. 4. Lazy river: The resort highlights the lazy river quite a bit, so I was expecting something special. It is okay, but compared to other lazy rivers I have experienced, this one felt more like a pool with very slowly moving water. It was nice to try, but definitely not something I would consider a major reason to choose this resort. The regular food was good, the location was good, and overall the resort was enjoyable. I am not saying this is a bad resort at all. My issue is simply the value for money. When a resort charges 20 to 30% more than comparable options, I expect something noticeably better or more premium. I just did not find that here. The overall experience felt very similar to other good resorts that cost considerably less. At a more competitive price, I would have a much more positive opinion of this resort. But at the current pricing, I personally do not think the extra cost is justified, and I would not return at this price.

Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: AMAZING WONDERFUL!!!
What an incredible week!!! Everything from the accommodating staff, to the tasty and flavorful food, engaging entertainment and the various outings beyond the resort explored....a time was had!!! Another bonus, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the use of the Roller Glider and the teens area. There's so much for teens to do at this resort! It's challenging to find a drawback to the entire experience. If I were to pick something though it would have to be the beach. I really love to swim beyond a pool, and the unsettled water current was a factor as well as the seaweed accumulation at shore. Despite this, it's a solid ***** rating. I would highly recommend this resort.

Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: Great Vacation
Booked a swim up room and preferred club. The grounds are great. Tried all the restaurants for dinner and enjoyed them all. Hamburgers at the grill were delicious. Breakfast at the buffet was really good. Lots of choice. Tried the buffet for lunch twice and was disappointed. I felt there was not a large variety of food choices. Staff were very friendly and rooms were clean and spacious. Wait staff in bars and restaurants were friendly and attentive.

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: The good, the bad and the ugly
We stayed at Dreams Tulum from June 3–10, 2026 while attending a destination wedding. Overall, we still managed to enjoy parts of our vacation, but a series of significant issues affected our stay and prevented it from meeting the standard we expected. I want to start with the positives. The grounds are beautiful, the food was generally excellent, and the staff were consistently friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. The shows were entertaining, and staff throughout the property, from the servers and bartenders to guest services, did their best to help whenever problems arose. I would especially like to recognize Alejandra, the Privilege Club Manager. Throughout our stay, she was exceptional. She consistently treated us with professionalism, empathy, and genuine care, and she went above and beyond in her efforts to address the many issues we encountered. While many of the problems were beyond her control, she worked tirelessly to find solutions, communicate updates, and make our stay as enjoyable as possible. She was one of the highlights of our experience and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, our stay was affected by a number of significant issues. Upon arrival, we experienced a lengthy delay receiving our room. Others in our travel group received their rooms before us, and even some guests who arrived on later flights appeared to be checked in before we were. Once we got into our room, we were pleased with it. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well located. However, several days into our stay, renovation work began a few rooms away. The smell from paint, solvents, or cleaning products was overwhelming and caused headaches and migraines, particularly at night. After enduring it for several days, we requested a room change. The resort agreed to move us and even upgraded our room, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the move itself became another source of frustration. We were attending a wedding and needed a place to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. We were told we could move our belongings into the new room, but that the room would not be ready for use until later. Hours passed, yet when we returned there appeared to have been little progress. When we finally gained access to the new room, we discovered that the air conditioning was not functioning properly. While air was blowing, the room remained humid and stayed around 23–24°C. Staff worked hard to find us another room for the night, and we ended up moving again late in the evening. Unfortunately, the replacement room had the same issue. By that point, we were exhausted and simply tried to sleep through it. The next morning, we returned to our assigned room and found the ceiling in the entry area completely removed while maintenance staff worked on the air-conditioning system. There was water throughout the area, a drainage tube hanging into the toilet, and moisture on many of our belongings stored nearby. Nothing was permanently damaged, but it was uncomfortable finding our clothing and personal items damp and not knowing exactly where the water had come from. This all occurred on the day of the wedding. We were assured the room would be cleaned before we returned to get ready. However, when we came back later, the work area was still dirty and unfinished. While preparing for the wedding, housekeeping arrived and had to clean around us. It was not an ideal situation when trying to get ready for an important event. Another frustration involved the charitable room-access bracelets we had purchased. Following the room changes, the bracelets no longer worked properly in the new room. When we asked for the money to be returned, the request was refused. Given that the bracelets no longer worked because we were moved due to issues with the room, this felt unreasonable. The ongoing renovations throughout the resort were also far more disruptive than we had been led to believe. Prior to our trip, we were contacted by TripCentral and advised that renovations would be taking place during our stay. We specifically inquired about the expected impact and were told it would be minimal and that we would only be affected by the first phase of the project. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Large portions of the resort were unavailable during our stay. Roughly half of the restaurants were closed, several cafés and food venues were closed, and many amenities were either unavailable or operating on reduced schedules. The online schedules and resort information showing which restaurants and amenities were open were frequently inaccurate, making it difficult to plan meals and activities. We often found ourselves calling guest services daily to confirm what was actually operating. The construction noise and disruption were impossible to ignore. Directly behind our room, workers spent days using jackhammers, and throughout the property there were ongoing sounds associated with the renovation work. The resort attempted to mask some of the noise with amplified music, but this often resulted in competing sounds rather than a quieter environment. In addition to the noise, there were persistent construction-related odours throughout parts of the property. Combined with the room issues we experienced, it became difficult to find a place on the resort that felt quiet, comfortable, and unaffected by the ongoing work. Had the extent of the disruption been communicated accurately before our trip, we would have adjusted our expectations or reconsidered our travel plans. The heavy sargassum situation also affected the vacation. We understand this is not the resort’s fault, but it made the beach largely unusable during our stay. The smell was awful and noticeable throughout much of the property. We tried to swim through an area that appeared to have been cleared, but the lifeguard stopped us, so ocean swimming was effectively not an option. As a result, we were largely limited to the pools. Unfortunately, the pool water was quite warm and there was very little shade available around the pool areas. Combined with the inability to use the beach, it often felt like there was nowhere to comfortably escape the heat during the hottest parts of the day. We ultimately found ourselves leaving the resort to visit cenotes and other off-site attractions in order to cool off and enjoy the water. Another concerning issue happened at the buffet. One evening, there was a station presented as al pastor, complete with a vertical spit and a small charcoal setup intended to create the appearance and aroma of traditional preparation. However, the rotisserie itself was never operating. Instead, raw pork was being sliced directly from the spit and cooked on a flat-top grill. While waiting in line, I observed the same utensil being used to handle raw pork and then being placed back in contact with the cooked meat. When I raised the concern with the staff, I was told it was not a problem and that this was how it was done. Regardless of the explanation, it was concerning from a food-safety perspective and made me uncomfortable eating from that station. Given that a significant number of guests in our wedding group later experienced gastrointestinal illness, this interaction stood out in my mind. While I cannot say whether the two were related, it did raise concerns about food-handling practices at the resort. Finally, many members of our wedding group became ill during the trip. Approximately 50 guests attended the wedding, and a significant number experienced gastrointestinal illness, including several members of our family. While I personally did not become sick, the number of people affected was concerning. Another disappointment was the upgraded package we originally purchased. We specifically paid extra for the upgraded experience and amenities. In practice, however, we found very little value in the upgrade. The private beach area was largely unusable due to the sargassum conditions, and the private breakfast area did not offer enough of a difference to justify the additional cost. Compounding this issue, many guests appeared to receive complimentary upgrades as a result of the construction and room disruptions occurring throughout the resort. As a result, what we had paid extra for no longer felt exclusive or meaningfully different from the experience many other guests were receiving. Given the circumstances, the upgraded package provided little to no added value during our stay. One final example that reflected our overall experience occurred on the day of our departure. The day before we left, we received two separate calls from the resort checking in on our stay and asking whether we would like assistance with our luggage for our early morning departure. On both occasions, we accepted and confirmed that a bellhop would come to our room at 5:15 a.m. to assist with our bags. We had no issue handling our own luggage if necessary, but after confirming the arrangement twice, we expected the service to be provided. We waited at the scheduled time, but no one arrived. Ultimately, we carried our own luggage to the front lobby. The staff at the front desk apologized, which we appreciated, but it was another example of a commitment being made and not followed through on. Despite these issues, we still managed to enjoy parts of our vacation because of the excellent staff, beautiful grounds, good food overall, and the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. However, the repeated room problems, construction impacts, air-conditioning failures, closed restaurants and cafés, beach conditions, food-safety concerns, reduced value of the upgraded package, and disruptions surrounding important wedding events fell well below the standard we expected. Dreams Tulum has the potential to be an excellent resort, and I suspect it will be much better once the renovations are complete. However, based on our experience during this stay, the resort was not operating at the level guests were paying for. We paid for a full resort experience but stayed at a property that was partially under construction, partially closed, and repeatedly unable to deliver on basic expectations. While we appreciate the efforts made by the staff, especially Alejandra, we do feel that additional compensation would be appropriate given the extent of the disruptions we experienced.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Good Time but Some Inconveniences
We are a family of three with two adults and one six year old. This was a smaller resort compared to others we've been to. When you first get there, they check you in and a bell boy helps you with your luggage and takes you to your room in a golf cart. They tell you to meet a staff member in the main resort building for your welcome package. The main resort building felt like a maze and we were 3/4 of the way into our stay, when we finally started to get the hang of where things were. The welcome package was a staff member trying to get you to go to a time share meeting so you can get free discounts on excursions or spa packages. They also try and get you to visit their new resort next door which is currently under construction. We did none of that. We did try and book an excursion through the resort's travel guide but it ended up being expensive. If you can get cheaper rates through your travel agent, I recommend going that route instead. The resort felt like you were immersed in the jungle, with several pockets of natural vegetation throughout. Our room building was set along the outskirts of the resort, with paved pathways lined with native shrubs, trees, and plants. We saw several animals during our walks to and from our room to the main hub, as well as some within the main area of the resort; Coati's, Mexican Raccoons, Iguanas and tinier lizards. There were a lot of Grackles in the pool area that were used to tourists, so you had to really watch your food, because they did not mind flying close to swipe something off your plate. Maybe it's because of how naturalized the resort was, but we did notice fleas jumping on us while we were on the paths between the rooms and the main building, or on the beach. They were never in our rooms though, or inside the main resort building. The beach was okay, but we went in April when the seaweed starts coming in. We learned via a notice at the concierge desk that seaweed season is from April-November, which we hadn't considered before that there would be a "season" for it. Regardless, the beaches were kept fairly clear of seaweed during our stay. They had the tractors clearing out the excess. This resort had a closed off area for swimming in the ocean, but most of our days were spent at the pool, since it was closer to all the food and drinks. They did have servers on the beach that would run from your beach chair to the bar to get you drinks, but they were the same servers running around the pool area, so I can imagine the service wasn't consistent or as quick. We were worried that the pool would be small since it seemed to be the only one available for the whole resort (other than the adults only pool), but it ended up being quite large and never felt too crowded. It also naturally divided between people with families on one end and child-free on the other end, which was closer to the bar and pool activities. The stairs leading into the pool were wide and provided shallow water for kids who weren't swimmers yet. It was nice even for us because our six year old is a swimmer, but we told her if mom or dad aren't in the pool with her, she needs to stay on the stairs which she was happy to do, since she could still play pretend on the deeper steps closer to the pool. Trying to get pool side chairs in the shade meant waking up early. There were a lot of chairs available but not many truly shaded ones, and chairs with a straight view to the pool so you could watch your kids from your chair were also scarce. Everyone seemed to "hold" their chairs with the resort pool towels, but there always ended up being so many chairs with towels and no one showing up, even toward the middle of the day. Resort staff didn't monitor the chairs. There was a splash pad for littles and two waterslides in a separate area, but it was not connected to the main pool, so you had to either plan to be at the waterslide pool or go back and forth between areas. Depending on the ages of your family members, I can see how this might be inconvenient and split members up. We tried booking a Balinese bed for one of the days, but it took quite a bit of effort to find someone who could help. The concierge said to go to the pool desk in the lobby, the pool desk said to find the staff at the towels, but the staff at the towels was not always there. We did finally end up connecting with someone after a few days of trying, but I feel like it should be a lot easier to book. Because the hub with all the food, pools, and activities was at the main resort building, which was in the middle of the resort, we tended to pack up and plan to stay for the day at the pool. It wasn't a quick trip to our room, which was on the outskirts of the hotel. There were buildings with rooms that were closer to the pool area, we just ended up on the outskirts. This wasn't convenient during the day if we forgot to bring something with us. However, it was in the evening when we were walking back to our room so our child could go to sleep, and the noise of the hub kept lessening the closer we got to our building, until all we heard was the breeze and crashing of waves. The room was a nice size for the three of us. We ended up with a king bed and the couch turned into a pull-out. The room was pretty standard in terms of amenities; nice sized tv, stocked fridge, safe, and small seating area. It was a nice surprise to get comfy bathrobes in our room though. Our balcony was close to the path but you couldn't tell because all we saw were trees and other vegetation. There was a family of pretty yellow birds living in one of the trees, who we saw flying around chirping every day. Again, it felt like we were immersed in the jungle. Room service did a great job of housekeeping, except they didn't come the day before we had to leave-I don't know if that's standard or if they just missed us that day. The beginning of our stay was a little inconvenient. We were told by the concierge that they had provided bedding for the pull-out, but it wasn't there when we got to our room. Our daughter slept in the king bed with us the first night which was fine. The next few days I put in two requests through their app, called the housekeeping line and also talked to the concierge for extra bedding because it kept not showing up, even though the app would say the service was completed for example, or the concierge and housekeeping would say they'd get to it right away, and it never showed up. Our daughter slept with us again on the second night, but we finally got the extra bedding on the third night. At one point, housekeeping took all our wash cloths and hand towels, but didn't replenish them. It took two attempts to finally get some back, but only after speaking to someone in person about it, who was actually there to replenish our water. My earring fell down the sink drain at one point during our stay and the maintenance staff was quick to respond and very courteous. The food was okay but nothing to rave about. It seemed most of the food at the buffet was geared toward tourists, rather than providing an authentic Mexican experience. There were a lot of curries at the buffet for some reason. As a Mexican, I was excited to get authentic Mexican food every day, which was my experience at the previous resort we went to, but I had a hard time even finding a good taco. They would have taco type toppings, but sometimes they didn't have tortillas out. When they did have tortillas out, the tortillas didn't seem to be heated up properly, they still seemed rather stiff. This resort seemed to specialize in chilaquiles instead, since the stuff to put them together was always out, including instructions. There weren't any real authentic tacos at the buffet, no authentic soups, no floutas etc., and even the pan dulce only seemed to come out for breakfast. I did end up finding a small taco stand vender inside the main resort building closer to the end of our stay, but he was only there for supper time and only sold tacos al pastor, which can get repetitive for meals. The resort set up a bbq place of some sort near the pool area one time, but they set it up after we had just had lunch, and closed down before supper time. It would have been nice if they had announced what special food they were going to serve and when, or even if they had a sign at the stall about it so we could plan better. This resort had a few snack places like a smoothie bar, and a cafe. They had several themed restaurants. We never had to make a reservation for any of the restaurants, except if you wanted a teppanyaki experience at the Japanese restaurant. It seemed that they rotated when one of the restaurants closed for the day. We went to try one of their restaurants for supper and turns out it wasn't going to be open that day, which we found out through the app when we went to check what time it opened. Another time we went to eat at the buffet, and turns out it was closed and turned into another restaurant for that night. Again, we didn't find out until we went to eat and they told us in person. If this was part of the information they gave us at the beginning of our stay, we could plan better so we could make sure to try all the restaurants while we were there. The Mexican restaurant was great though. I got some great authentic food there, but it's not a place the whole family wants to eat at every day, and the restaurants do have a limited menu, so it's the same three main meals every day. The Italian restaurant was really good but the portions were HUGE. We felt so bad because we couldn't finish our pastas, so the remainder was thrown out. Our daughter had a hard time finding something she would like at the Japanese restaurant, but the waiter was fantastic and brought her several plates of salmon sashimi, which she loves but was off menu. There was entertainment nightly and we got to see the magician and the Mexican dancers, but my favorite were the Maya pre-Colombian storytellers in the lobby. Overall, we had a great time, but there were some inconveniences like the location of our room/the beach compared to the location of the food and drinks, the room service debacle, and the lack of authentic Mexican food.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: good 3 star resort
We recently stayed at the Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa for two weeks in mid-May, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations. On the positive side, the pools were cleaned daily, most of the staff were friendly (especially when tipped), the à la carte restaurants were well-maintained and clean, and the property offers an easy, accessible walk between the two resorts. However, there were several significant drawbacks. The lobby felt sterile, lacking any ambiance or music. The buffet food was consistently bland and repetitive. At the à la carte restaurants, we felt constantly rushed throughout our meals. While the pool surfaces were cleaned, the skimmers never functioned properly, leaving bugs and debris floating in the water all day. Furthermore, tipping felt mandatory for even the smallest service, such as receiving a bottle of water. The service regarding pool chairs was particularly frustrating. Butlers would reserve chairs for guests who never showed up; despite rules stating that staff should clear unattended towels, this was never enforced, even when other guests made direct requests. It was also disheartening to see that butlers could be easily bribed; other guests openly bragged about paying $200 to receive "preferred" treatment without actually booking a preferred room. We spoke with several other families from Europe who were there during our stay, and we all agreed that we would not return or recommend this resort.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Check-In a Huge Disappointment
Upon arrival clerk told us our 2 grandkids weren’t included & we would have to pay upfront for them. Even when we produced all the documents from or travel agent, which included their names & payment invoices, there still was a problem. We even showed her our request for 2 cribs. After a stressful 45min she came back to us insinuating that she cleared everything up. The only thing she did was add to a very long day with 2 year old twins. Two days later one of the cribs broke in the middle of the night, tossing one of the babies on the floor. Very disappointed, could have been a very serious situation, luckily no one was seriously injured. Please ensure all cribs are checked for safety prior to use. Not the start to our vacation we had hoped.

We loved Dreams Cozumel. For a snorkeling vacation, you can't beat being close to the beach with easy water access to an array of tropical fish, some of which I hadn't seen before. But I do caution people to take water shoes! The resort itself is smaller, which we liked and the intimacy of the resort in terms of size; quality of service was excellent. Highly recommend upgrading for the beachfront view. The sunsets were beautiful. Thank you Colleen Scott for going above and beyond!

Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa: Great stay.
Booked this as a real last-minute vacation, 3 days before departure. Really needed to exchange the clouds and cold for some sun and heat. Husband and I thought the deal for a week at the Dreams Cozumel was excellent, so went for it. We lucked out with an amazing top floor corner room after having chosen the preferred club oceanfront option. Even though we were on the side of the construction (Sunscape, between Dreams and Secrets, is being renovated/built) we were unbothered by the occasional noise. In fact, we heard almost no noise apart from the waves and the birds when in our room and on our balcony. Even when the pool was in full swing with water aerobics or somesuch, our room was a true sanctuary. Entering the beach is a process and water shoes are a must. I did not snorkel but saw many other guests doing so just in front of the property. The amount of sargassum seemed "normal". There were plenty of places to sit on the beach. Since Sunscape was closed, the entire area in front of it was free. The recliners were not the cushy kind like the ones in front of Dreams, but there were plenty of palapas available and a good access point for entering the water. The buffet at Dreams was excellent. Personally, i thought it was better than the buffet at Secrets, at least for breakfast, so stayed at Dreams for meals. Italian at Dreams was very good but only got there once. It was supposed to be open on our last night but wasn't. Mediterranean was also good. In general we kept to the buffet since vegetarian options are limited in the restaurants and the guac was fab at the buffet. I also have to mention that having the buffet right on the water and partially open to the sky is awesome. Usually, buffet rooms are cavernous and tucked away inside a resort so you lose the tropical vibe of the whole vacation. The Dreams buffet is really a beautiful patio and lovely place to enjoy your meals. We don't hang at the pools much but found the small one right outside of the Secrets lobby to be very pleasant. Few people there and good for a quick refresh. I will caveat my review with the fact that the resort(s) was/were not at capacity and Sunscape was not open so, would service, noise levels, wait times and space be different if they were. That said, we truly enjoyed our stay at Dreams Cozumel.

The hotel was very clean, staff were extremely friendly, restaurants when open were amazing, but being off season and under renovation the choices were limited. Everything is close together, no getting lost on the grounds. The spa was fantastic, as was the preferred breakfast club. Overall, I would rate 9/10 and definitely recommend

Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf and Spa Resort: Terrible Stay
We have been travelling about 4 times a year to the Caribbean and South America for the last 10 to 12 years and have been going predominantly to AMR Resorts (Zoetry, Secrets and Dreams). We are familiar with the brand and like what they offer in terms of high end resorts with unlimited luxury, extensive amenities etc. We have just returned from Dreams Karibana Cartegena Golf and Spa Resort and were very disappointed. The food options and variety available are extremely limited and there is absolutely no top shelf drinks as claimed on the web site. Same with cocktails. The Coco Café here did not have the usual snacks (sandwiches etc), yogurt, different cookies, parfaits etc. They had same three types of ice creams (chocolate, vanilla and mango) which were also iced up. We went preferred but it was a complete waste of money. I would say that it is a scam to gouge extra money for below services claimed to be provided. • Daily continental breakfast service • Afternoon hot and cold hors d’oeuvres • Exquisite desserts and premium liquors • Access to Preferred Club lounge and bar All the above services are there but only in name, or at best skeletal. The only good thing they have going is the customer service which is excellent. Special mention of Yirley at Oceana, Margarita, Fabier and Rosmery at the Buffet, Yineth and Jose at the Lounge Bar, Mauricio at the Learn Spanish Class and Janivis and Luis at the Coco Cafe. The room service is also prompt and good. I would like to mention my experience at the Portofino. I was not allowed entry since I was in sandals, which was fine since they have a dress code which requires men to wear closed shoes. But this was not consistently followed. The hostess and the Restaurant Manager, Samir were very selective since we did see men being let in wearing sandals. When I brought this to the attention of the same hostess I was told these were patrons with foot issues but strangely we seen the same patrons in runners later during the trip. I also bought this to the attention of the senior manager available that evening, David (Sales Manager), who had what seemed like a friendly chat with both, the hostess and the restaurant manager Samir but failed to apprise/respond to us. David gaveme a talk about how important communication in this industry but failed to get back to us.

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Not Worth It
The hotel is clean, the restaurants are very good, and most of the staff are friendly and genuinely try to go out of their way to help guests. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the concierge, who responded to my questions as though I was inconveniencing her. We also paid extra for the Preferred upgrade, and I would not choose it again at this resort. There did not appear to be many meaningful differences between Preferred and non-Preferred guests. The Preferred restaurant frequently ran out of food items and condiments, forcing us to eat at the buffet instead, and the same issue occurred at the Preferred bar. The Preferred lounge was underwhelming, and the Preferred pool was accessible to all guests. Another disappointment was the beach access, which required about a 600-metre walk. One of the biggest concerns was the hotel’s constant requirement for guests to provide their room number — during activities, at restaurants and buffets, and in other areas throughout the resort. This policy did not reflect an inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities who may struggle to remember room numbers. My brother, who has an intellectual disability, was unable to participate in activities and was even refused food on one occasion because he could not provide his room number.

Another amazing week at Dreams Onyx. This resort out stands the rest of them, they are so organized from the big details to the small ones. The staff and service are top notch. Preferred Manager Kaira and Jelissa in the lobby bar made a special inpact in my vacation. Make sure to see them on yours! Best restaurant is the French restaurant, the taco truck is also a must! The water slides are thrilling for adults as well. Loved the lazy river, but the beach is GORGEOUS. Great family resort , and if you want a good party you can go over to the attached sister resort, it’s a two second walk or they will drive you!

5 star rating places is overrated, 4 star is max Clean but shortfalls were - short on serving staff. Often uncomfortable wait for experienced travellers -beer was down in same place for several days and troublesome everywhere -knives need replacing, dull as a spoon -front desk answers were contradictory and sometimes wrong -pool area needs those little poolside tables to put belongings on -lobby area should have snacks handy-like nachos or candy -breakfast was exact same every day- a bit of variety would avoid boredom after 5 days -main lobby washrooms were a bit stinky and dark. Made u want to go back to your room

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Great customer service, nice resort
My recent stay at Dreams Cap Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic was a truly exceptional experience, and I am excited to share the details of my visit. From the moment we landed to our farewell, every aspect of our stay was designed with care and attention to detail. Arrival and Check-In Experience Upon landing, we were warmly greeted by our resort representative, who promptly escorted us to our transfer. The ride to the resort took only about 10 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise after a long journey. Upon arrival, we were welcomed in the lobby by the friendly bellman, who offered us refreshing drinks and cold towels a thoughtful touch that set a positive tone for our stay. Although we arrived a bit early and our room wasn’t ready, we were able to explore the full resort facilities while our luggage was safely taken to our room for later. Staff and Customer Service The staff at Dreams Cap Cana were one of the highlights of our experience. They were consistently friendly, helpful, and fluent in English, which made communication seamless. The customer service was top-notch. An app was available to make requests and manage accommodations which I found to be exceptionally user friendly. Room service was delivered within an hour every time, and requests for toiletries were fulfilled quickly. Personal inquiries made to the front desk were handled promptly, earning the customer service a solid 10/10 from me. Dining Options The food selection at the resort was impressive and varied. The buffet offered a vast array of options, ensuring there was something for everyone. One of the perks was that the à la carte restaurants did not require reservations, allowing for more spontaneity during our dining experiences. Although there were occasional short waits for the à la carte options, I highly recommend trying the Italian restaurant and the steakhouse both provided outstanding meals that complemented our stay. Room Quality Our accommodations were noteworthy. The room was clean, modern, and well maintained, with virtually no issues to report. The attention to cleanliness and upkeep matched the high standards expected at a resort of this caliber. Resort Amenities and Layout The resort itself is quite expansive, with amenities and features spread out over a large area. While this layout provides plenty of exploration opportunities, it may not be ideal for guests who prefer shorter walks. Reaching the beach requires a bit of a trek, but it is undoubtedly worthwhile. We experienced the challenge of seagrass season, however we discovered that walking just a short distance from the resort revealed much cleaner beach areas. We were impressed to see city workers actively maintaining the beach, cleaning the shores daily. Additional Features and Activities Another highlight of our stay was the lack of wristbands, which I found to be a refreshing change. We were able to book excursions directly at the front desk, including Monkey Land and an adventure park, both highly recommended for any visitors. Although we didn’t manage to fit Cocobongo into our plans, we heard great things about it and would love to try it on a future visit. Final Thoughts While there might be moments requiring a bit of patience such as occasional waits at restaurants or navigating the larger resort my overall impression of Dreams Cap Cana Resort is overwhelmingly positive. This resort excels in numerous areas, from its attentive staff to the quality of accommodations and dining. I would without a doubt recommend this resort to others, and I am happy to rate it a full 5 stars for a wonderful vacation experience.

Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort and Spa: A Nice Resort Too Far From Airport
We landed at 12:35pm at Punta Cana Airport, but with such a large plane, using the buses to the terminal it took about 45 minutes just to get into the terminal. The drive to the hotel took about 115 minutes over a rough road in some places. The resort itself was very nice, and having our rooms in the same building as the lobby was very nice. Checking in was pretty easy, and the staff superb. The room was nice and clean and spacious, and the balcony nice too. The tissue box was terribly inconvenient, and had to be emptied every time a tissue was needed. The grounds were well kept. One shortcoming was the lack of clocks on buildings, inside and out. Washrooms were hard to find, and very small. Some of our party of eight wanted to enjoy the beach, but it was impossible, with heavy undertow and black flags all week. When we walked "off property" in both directions, we saw very nice beaches with low surf that would have been much more enjoyable. We were in the Dreams section, and the two main pools there were very good; however, the jacuzzi were almost never fully on, and the water in them was cold in the elevated one, and mildly warm in the other. The poolside bars and grills were very good. The theatre entertainment was generally top notch, except the music was way too loud every time. The Tierra restaurant was exceptionally good, and several others were great. The buffet was very good, both at breakfast and lunch times. I would want to be positive, but the distance from the airport and the not-so-good beach explains why I would not recommend this resort to friends. The buildings, pools, restaurants and grills would attract many. Bottom line: We did have a great time and have no regrets. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff were high points.

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Dreams Cap Cana – Preferred Guest Experience Review
I just returned from a week at Dreams Cap Cana as a Preferred Guest, and overall, the experience was absolutely 5-star. The resort was at full capacity during March Break, so it’s important to set expectations accordingly. With that in mind, I had only a couple of minor observations: 1. Occasional wait times for food – At times, meals took a bit longer than expected. That said, the kitchens were clearly under heavy demand, and the staff across every restaurant were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and doing their absolute best. 2. Sports bar experience – After an amazing excursion to Saona Island, my friend and I returned starving and ordered three plates of ribs at the sports bar. Each plate came out with a single rib, which was a bit surprising and felt like a miss given the situation. 3. Preferred guest identification – It would be great to see wristbands or some visible differentiation for Preferred guests to help streamline service and recognition. Now, onto the highlights… • Our room in Building 4 was an ocean view Preferred suite, and it was absolutely spectacular—you couldn’t ask for a better view. • I have traveled to many islands and resorts, and I can confidently say the staff at this resort are truly top notch. From the concierges at check-in, to the wait staff, entertainment teams, and bartenders—every interaction was positive, professional, and genuine. Some of the standout team members who made our trip unforgettable: • Carlos, Robert, and Domingo in the Preferred breakfast/lunch restaurant • Maria, the host at the Preferred breakfast club • Sandro, the towel gentleman and pool attendant • Henry, Robert, Claudia, and Julissa at the Preferred pool bar—who made every day by the pool an experience to remember • Andrea and Juan from the Preferred lounge bar—exceptional in both conversation and service • Eddie from the Barefoot Grill, who went above and beyond by walking past two pools to personally deliver our food • Esmeralda, Ivan, Britney, and Allison from the Preferred Club lobby • As well as all the ladies in concierge services at the main lobby, who helped arrange security passes so a friend of mine could join us for the day The resort itself is beautiful, clean, and extremely well maintained. But what truly sets Dreams Cap Cana apart is its people. I highly recommend upgrading to the Preferred level. The added amenities, access, and elevated service are absolutely worth it. I’ve read some negative reviews, but having been there, I can say this: your attitude shapes your vacation. I witnessed firsthand how unrealistic expectations and negative behavior impacted some guests’ experiences. In contrast, approaching the staff with positivity, patience, and respect goes a long way—this team responds far better to kindness than complaints. Because of these shining stars, my wife and I have decided that our search is over—Dreams Cap Cana will be our go-to resort moving forward. Bottom line: If you go in with realistic expectations, a positive attitude, and take advantage of the Preferred upgrade, Dreams Cap Cana delivers an exceptional vacation experience.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great Vacation!
Our second time visting this resort and we enjoyed every minute. Was a quick shuttle bus ride from the airport to the resort. Check in was smooth but didn't love the time share people swarming us as soon as check in was complete. Resort grounds are beautiful and everything is close by so no long walks to the room, pool or to food. Beach had lots of seaweed but that's just part of mother nature; the staff we working at cleaning it up most of the day with raking and a tractor. Food was great - do not need to make reservations, just walk up each night to the restaurant you want to try. Buffet had lots of choices for all meals. Gluten free options were label on the restaurant menus and staff made other suggestions/accomadations as requested. Wish they had more loungers around the pool and beach; if you weren't an early riser, you were stuggling to get a group of chairs together

Dreams Curacao Resort Spa and Casino: Small beach but calm water with lots of fish for snorkelling.
This is not a 5 star resort, more of a 4 star, there are not a lot of amenities or activities, there were some. No watersports, and no room for it really. Having said that we had read the reviews and knew what it would be like going in so we were not disappointed and we had a great vacation at this property. The beach is small, less than 75 feet wide and only around 100 loungers. But the water was beautiful and always calm. There were tons of fish both close in and further out. The food was ok, the buffet was small but always had something good to eat, the restaurants were ok as well. There were a few delicious dishes, the pumpkin soup and the crispy pork dish at the Oceana restaurant were great. The beach/pool grill wasn't great. Drinks were great with lots of variety. Service tended to be slow at bars and restaurants, but we were on vacation and weren't ever in a rush. The hotel is older and shows it but the housekeeping and maintenance staff were always busy keeping things up. Our room 535 was huge and had a sofa and a pair of chairs as well, not all rooms were as big it was a preferred club perk. The view and setting of the hotel was beautiful There is a part of an old fort beside the beach and tour groups came in to see it most mornings. Air Canada Rouge was not good, no space and very uncomfortable seats. I would never fly it ever again.

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: So fun — will definitely be back!
We travelled as two couples and all of us had such a good time. The vibe was perfect, it was easy to relax, but also really fun when you wanted it to be. We spent most of our time at the pool and there was always something going on. We’re usually not the type to jump into games or activities, but the entertainment team completely changed that. Cristopher stood out and was a highlight of our trip, he was super friendly and made us feel like family. We ended up joining way more than expected and it honestly made the trip. The nightly shows were also really good and something we looked forward to. Loved having the 24hr café and room service (menu is more limited late at night but still solid options). The disco above the Coral Keg was a fun bonus too. Food overall was good and staff were great. There are 5 restaurants to choose from, no reservations, so there can be a wait, but there’s also a buffet if you don’t feel like waiting. The location in Cap Cana is beautiful, it’s a gated area with stunning landscaping. The beach directly in front of the resort isn’t very swimmable, but there’s amazing swimmable water less than a 5-minute walk down the beach. Only small issues: our keycards did deactivate a few times (quick fix at the lobby), and the concierge wasn’t super helpful when we asked about going outside the gated area. We were able to figure it out ourselves pretty easily though, so it didn’t affect our trip. We even saw a few beautiful weddings while we were there and are already thinking about coming back to get married ourselves after such a great experience.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Wedding Factory
The Dreams resort has amazing restaurants, probably the best we've ever experienced. The room was clean and well kept and having our own personal plunge pool on our deck was amazing. The beach was really good but unfortunately was over whelmed with sea grass, making it virtually unswimable. It did not have enough chairs and umbrellas on the beach at all, so mildly frustrating. What was truly annoying and disturbing, was being sidelined almost every single day because of weddings. Being pushed away from your pool lounge chair, so the crews could set up a wedding. Listening to workers push cart after cart after cart of tables, chairs and stuff for weddings. Having to squeeze onto crowded and limited pool space.... because of another wedding. Trying to find a quiet spot to relax was almost impossible because of all the wedding stuff. In my opinion, the resort marginalized regular resort goers to profit from all these weddings. The resort does not have enough physical space to allow for so many weddings and still have regular guests. I would not recommend this resort for that reason alone.

Dreams La Romana: Dreams la romana 2 adults 2 kids Mar 2026
We just returned from Dreams La Romana resort and spa (preferred) as a family of 4 with 2 young kids. Positives -nice updated rooms with good storage -public bathrooms were often cleaned -maids did an excellent job tidying/cleaning everyday -easy to get into all the restaurants. We ate at all the sit downs and the buffet and had no food poisoning. -Perferred pool had enough shaded seating but wasn’t plentiful. You could get some chairs by 9am. -beach was beautiful like everyone said -everything was very clean, service was great Negatives Biggest negative for me was the lack of liveliness in the lobby area-entertainment was not connected to the lobby, it was in an open field. Uncovered, so it rained out a few times. No tables. Folding chairs. Dark. Tree roots everywhere so my kids fell a bunch. -Coastal-the Perferred breakfast had huge timing issues. One morning we waited nearly 2 hours for breakfast. 25 mins for someone to bring coffee/water. Another 20 to take our order. Another 50 mins to bring the food (2 fried eggs and smoked salmon , and Dominican breakfast - which were cold when arrived). Then our kids cereal took another 15 mins to come. This was a common occurrence everyday. I would have rather gone to the buffet but my husband wanted to utilize the preferred spaces. -chairs at preferred beach were “reserved-ie towels/items” by 8am. Seating was limited here. Chairs/shade in the regular area seemed short was well. -splash area was totally separate from the rest of the resort. No drink service there. -found a few cockroaches in our room, one of which followed us home in our suitcase, yuck. Honestly an overall great experience but would not come back here. Felt they accepted children but wasn’t as kid centered like the last resort we went to in Nov (iberostar selection suites in Punta cana). Iberostar had its issues but it was cheaper and I loved their covered outdoor entertainment space and their walk up icecream bar. My takeaway is that Dreams is beautiful and classy but best for older kids but that’s just my take having experienced a different type of resort last time which was our first time venturing away from Dreams chain.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Unfortunately first and last visit
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. Well maintained and clean. The rooms in the 7000 block are modern and well kept and staff friendly, courteous and helpful. We were greeted warmly upon arrival with a smile and cold drink which helped to temper our disappointment that not only were we unable to be in adjoining rooms from our daughter and her family, neither were we even close to one another. In fact, we were across the jungle pool from each other. We made the best of it and got more than our steps in. The biggest disappointment the FOOD. Each person in our family was sick from some form of food item over the 7 days there. Our 3 year old granddaughter needing to see the doctor on site who was excellent. Thankfully she was feeling better before we had to fly home and the rest of us too. Been to DR 5 times and never been ill until here. We were amazed how quick the concierge and security came to the clinic when they found 3 of our family were ill. We loved the idea of no reservations at the restaurants and had no issues getting a table for 6 while we were all still okay, then we had to solely rely on buffet which we found underwhelming. Repetition of same foods each night. Found hygiene an issue with one set of tongs for several food items in one section of the buffet. The pools are lovely, clean fun. The best resort ever to find loungers by pool or shade at the beach. Beach is clean and palm trees make great shade to get out of the sun. Lots of entertainment for everyone. Great family atmosphere. Would I go back? Sadly no.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Beautiful, kid friendly resort. But not the best food
We spent 7 nights at the Dreams Onyx Resort. The layout and up keep of the property was beautiful. Most of the staff were pleasant and kind. Special attention to the amazing - Junior at the lobby, Dani at the beach and the housekeeping staff. Unfortunately at different times of our trip all of our family was severely sick, which really put a damper on the trip. Even so, we had to take our daughter to the clinic on site. Dr. Vanessa Del Rosario (with Clinic Assist) truly put us at ease and was amazing with her. The resort came in to check on her too. But we worry it was the quality of food, since we all got six throughout the trip. I’ve been to many all inclusive resorts, several in Punta Cana. This one by far is the most beautiful- hotel room, layout, etc. But one of the lowest quality as far as food. We unfortunately didn’t get to experience all of the dinner options since we all got sick. We tried to play it safe with the buffet, but still was underwhelming. Lots of events each day for kids, which was great! Gift shop was cute, lots of supplies/meds too.

Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: Just an O-K resort.
Food was pretty good which was the highlight. Staff were nice enough, but the staff to guest ratio was off. Long bar lineups and slow pool service compared to other resorts we've stayed at - despite tipping every round. Ie. Drinks were sometimes melted by the time they got there. Hyatt seems to be intensely cost cutting, even that seemed a reason to keep drink rounds slow or self serve. Bars closed much earlier than posted hours (by 10 instead of 1030 or 11 or the disco supposedly open till 1 ?) and we were told sorry you can get a can of beer if you want by a grumpy bartender. Seemed like staff wanted to gtfo come 930. No bar drink menus posted, no mint for mojitos a lot of the time, bar wouldn't make shots "its a family resort" which we certainly weren't going crazy by any means. Usually if you asked for a drink from their online menu they couldnt make it, only very basic recipes. Or inconsistent, some people got garnish some didnt, some got a completely different drink despite ordering the same thing. Now onto the rooms and grounds and hotel: our first room reeked of mold and had staining like it had flooded, door was all warped. I know Mexico is humid but this was insane. We asked to be moved and it was better, our families other room (swim up) had no smell and was much better. Between the 2 rooms, they had inconsistent amenities. One slippers one without, one had a soap dish, one didnt lol. We borrowed an ihome charger alarm clock that was in my sisters room because the rooms had barely any working outlets and when we returned it to her room on the last day, they called me to accuse me i stole the alarm clock when our room never had one to begin with ?. The resort itself is in o-k condition, but if it is only 5 years old that shocks me as there were signs of disrepair. Grounds are well kept but other resorts we've stayed are nicer. The pool chair game is annoying but we were able to get a spot at the preferred pool (some days better than others like some days no umbrella available and sat there burning) without going out at 6am like the other freaks. Could never get any chairs at any of the other pools. Beach and sand are nice but water murky and sargassam but if you manage expectations that way it was fine. Waterslides and zip line good, lazy river and activities and entertainment were meh. Another weird thing is they use carbon paper slips to take your order...no ipads or at nice places they do it by memory just seemed weird for a huge hotel chain, like what year is it! Charging an add on like a special bottle of wine, or spa treatments etc to your room was a whole ordeal where you were made to sign your life away in 3 highlighted spots on a carbon receipt book and handwrite 'i accept these charges' ? it was so outdated. Staff seemed legitimately scared if they didnt follow every protocol to a T. There were just a lot of cost cutting penny pincher vibes overall. For $8k for the 2 adults and a kid on this trip, I would not stay here again. Its just on the higher cusp of mid tier, and would have paid a couple more grand to have those smaller details looked after that I notice.

Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf and Spa Resort: First trip to Colombia
We really enjoyed Dreams Karibana Cartagena. I was a bit worried after reading some on-line reviews, but everything was lovely. It is a small resort, so the buffet meals had fewer options than other resorts we’ve been to but the quality of the food was great. The pool was never crowded, and we had no problems getting poolside lounge chairs. The rooms were clean, but with a bit of wear and tear. We saw maintenance people on site most days, so I would guess the whole resort is getting a bit of a refresh. The staff was amazing. Very friendly - by the end of our week, we knew most of the entertainment crew. A couple downsides: there was no beach to speak of, apparently due to high water levels and we didn’t always have hot water for showers.

Rooms are lovely, resort is very well maintained. Food at the à la carte’s was very good, especially at the Italian. Buffett food was so-so. Some problems: ran out of regular Nespresso coffee pods in the room, lazy River was down for 4 days, stingy on the bottled water-had to keep requesting more, not enough umbrellas by the pool -all taken by 9:00 am. Overall a beautiful resort. Beach is amazing.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Nice small resort for families
Very cute small resort, perfect for families with young kids as they cannot go far out of your site. The hotel has amazing kids activities and the staff were incredible. There is an issue with space in the pool as there really is only one pool with a small "hot tub" that apparently is supposed to be adults only but honestly the kids hang out in it. There was NOT enough seats arpund the pool or beach. Everythjng was saved for preferred. If you went over to their pool they had almost double the amount of seats. Beach was beautiful, white sand, they have a barrier so the waves and seaweed do not enter the swimming area. Swimming area is very shallow. The room was good, lots of space- the "pull out couch" though was not great, hard on one side soft on the other and the bottom half would slide apart. The food was okay, the restaurants were good but the buffet was mediocre at best- always the same foods and it was a small buffet. We always tried to get to a restaurant but if you didn't show up right at 6 or just before 6 it was 1.5 hours wait to get a table. Some of the evening entertainment was awesome! Some were mediocre. Im not sure we would return here. But my kids had a great first all inclusive vacation.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Well Short of Expectations
Background My wife and I travel often and stay at many resorts. We are easygoing guests. We do not walk into a room looking for issues or take photos of every small problem. We look for a good overall experience and understand things happen. This stay fell short of expectations for the price point and star rating. We will not return. What Worked Well Transportation, check in, and check out ran smoothly. The staff stood out as the best part of the resort. Every team member we met worked hard and treated guests with care. Staff stayed pleasant and responsive even during busy times. When we reported issues, they acted fast and tried to help each time. Their effort and attitude deserve recognition and was the only bright spot. Room Issues The room had several maintenance problems. The bed did not have a fitted sheet. The sheet kept coming loose through the night, which left us waking up on the bare mattress. For a resort in this price category, basic bedding is an expectation. The toilet had a weak flush and often clogged (which was a common issue for other guests as well). The safe also stopped working more than once. The resort relies heavily on its mobile app for service requests. We logged maintenance issues through the app multiple times during our stay. Staff responded each time to repair the problem quickly. After several visits for the same issues, however, the situation became frustrating. Seating and Common Areas Seating across the resort created one of the largest frustrations. There were not enough loungers or chairs at the pool, beach (or even seats in the lobby). Guests who did not wake early to reserve spots by the pool or beach had few options, or none at all. I say this even though we are early risers and did not have this issue, but for those who like to sleep in you will be disappointed or feel pressured to set an alarm. The lobby layout adds to the issue. The space feels cramped, and the bar and café area has limited seating. They have one bartender and one barista to serve a large number of guests, which slowed service through no fault of the staff. For a resort in this category, having loungers for guests is expected. Noise at the Pool The pool area stays extremely loud for most of the day. Our trip focused on a couples getaway. We enjoy a fun atmosphere and have no issue with activities or music. The level of constant noise made rest difficult. Organized games, announcements, and loud music ran through most of the day. Guests who want a quieter environment or a nap during the afternoon will struggle. Food and Dining Food created the largest disappointment of the trip. For the price and star rating, the dining experience fell far below expectations. We have stayed at many comparable resorts and expected a much higher level of consistency. Specialty restaurants delivered uneven, poor or barely edible meals. After a few attempts we returned to the buffet, which normally serves as the backup option at most resorts. We hoped for more reliable meals there. The biggest concern involved illness. Several members of our group became sick during the stay from the food. We travel often and follow safe eating habits when abroad. We also spoke with other guests who reported similar issues. Final Thoughts The staff work hard and deserve credit for their effort and professionalism. Outside of the service, the resort fell short in several key areas including room quality, seating availability, noise management, and food. For the price point and star rating, expectations were much higher. Based on this experience, we will choose another resort for future trips.

Beach very nice although the water is very rough so you may not be able to swim in it. Poolside along the beach is beautiful. Entertainment and poolside activities are good. Dreams Riviera Cancun: Great resort
The staff was fantastic! friendly, efficient, helpful. We think the occupancy was at 100%, so using the a la carte restaurants meant going early if you did not want to end up waiting over an hour to get in. The rooms are not very soundproof, and we ended up waking up somewhere between 2 and 4 a.m. to the sounds of a baby crying in one of the rooms on either side of ours. The hotel is very family oriented, so there were children galore.

Dreams Playa Bonita Panama: We’ll return - an honest review
Dreams Playa Bonita Panama was a great choice for our first visit to Panama. Its location close to Panama City allowed for quick and easy access to the local attractions. The resort staff are friendly and do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. Rooms are tired and in need of renovation but were kept clean. Beds are very comfortable. Food was excellent. Pools look to be new and kept at a perfect temperature. We would suggest that more shade is needed around the pool and ocean. Music is played quite loud around the pool and would likely book “preferred” next time to access the quieter pool area. We saw sloths on the property and tiny monkeys at the end of the beach in the trees - so great! Note … Just be aware that you will have to travel almost 2 hours from the airport to this resort. The bus does stop for a short break and we were able to get cold drinks for the drive to the resort. We would return but hope that they are able to do some room updates.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Beautiful Stay
We had a great 10 days at this resort - very clean - hardworking staff - very large and spacicous room - beautiful views everywhere ! If you love a beach, this is not the place for you - very rocky - one small section near the perferred pool to go in on sand - we did see some kayaks later in the week going out by the family pool, but I think it's based on the tide. Food was good everywhere - never had to wait for a table, we generally went for dinner around 5:30 - 6 Property is a great size, not long walks to anything - grounds beautiful Preferred pool was great - Melvin and his team did a great job of making sure everyone had a seat - there was quite a bit of saving chairs the first week, but I guess a lot of people left after Family day and you could get a chair anywhere anytime. Lovely resort and would recommend

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: A little disappointing!
Regarding the Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa, there were good features and some not so good features. This resort is older and unfortunately it needs quite a bit of maintenance to upgrade it. Tiles are broken throughout the resort. Pools are stained yellow. Rooms are old designs. Water pressure in bathrooms very low. The good points are the restaurants. Buffet was good although not large enough to accommodate everyone for lunch when it rains. Choice of food was great! Only went to one of the à la carte restaurants which was very good. And I heard very good comments from other guests regarding some of the others. Staff mostly were great! Drinks very good depending on the bar. Pools were cold due to weather being on the colder side this year. My husband and I chose to upgrade our room due to the lack of niceness or newness to our room which was very pricey! Because of upgrade, we were Preferred guests which really didn’t give much. We were able to use a preferred beach section which didn’t even have a nice section of beach. Beach was very rocky! Also we were able to go to one of the à la carte restaurants for a catered breakfast. All in all, this resort was not 4 star or higher and pricey.

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Mixed Emotions
Although we've landed at this airport many times, this is the first time we actually stayed in the Cancun area. The weather was not great - cloudy and occasional showers all week, but the wind blew every day!! So much so that the ocean was off limits a couple of times. I could be wrong, but I believe the location of this resort contributes to the windy conditions. The beach is very narrow, and they've had to put sand bags down, probably to slow down the erosion. The beach is better just a short walk away to the next resort (or condo). The service was great. We appreciated the waiter service poolside, or to your lounge chair on the beach. This isn't offered at every resort. The restaurant staff is also very hard working and friendly. Appreciated the coffee bar in the lobby - this is also something we look for in a resort. Our room was .... okay. It needed repairs, and there was a sewage smell coming from the shower drain. We had a balcony, which was great, as not all rooms had one. The room was clean, and the maid service was done early. This resort doesn't hand out wrist bands, and doesn't issue towel cards. I think they should rethink the towel card policy, as people would just walk away from their lounge chairs without taking their towels with them. Then you didn't know if the chair was still 'taken' or not. However, the resort did have a gentleman who would monitor these things, and would gladly remove towels for you if he felt they were abandoned. There is shopping within walking distance, although prices are up, and bargains are hard to find anywhere. There were also beach vendors around ... not too many, and not aggressive. I also felt there was a little too much selling going on inside the hotel - either for excursions, for the spa, or for the Preferred Service (where you get to pay extra for exclusive areas on the beach, pool, etc.). I guess I had a different idea of what the 'Dreams' brand was, and overall came away disappointed.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Dreams Onyx honest review
Dreams Onyx was everything we expected and more. The hotel suite was spacious, clean and modern. The grounds were well maintained and quite beautiful. the pools were large and not crowded. the Lazy River, water slides and pool was very nice and usually a bit in the shade in the afternoon. There was never an issue finding lounge chairs. The beach was very sandy and swimmable. There was sea grass but it was regularly removed so not usually an issue. The food at the restaurants and buffet was very good but not exceptional. There was a wide array of food selection at the buffet. The Coco Cafe had the best coffee. The entertainment was generally quite good. The bars had the normal drinks and we did not have the preferred package so don't know if they had a better selection of top shelf alcohol. Overall the staff were welcoming and wanting to please and we had no issues whatso ever. I would recommend this resort for families or adults.

Hyatt Vivid Cancun: Five blissful nights in heaven
Honestly, I had an amazing stay at Dreams Vista Cancun. While there was a huge snowstorm sweeping through Southern Ontario, I was on the beach in Mexico, sipping pina coladas, and for this alone, I have to give this resort a 5/5 rating. Food - I'd say it's on the above average side. Your food experience heavily depends on how much initiative you're willing to take on this trip. If you can be bothered to take 1 minute in the morning to reserve one of the specialty restaurants on their app, then you'll have a great time. If you rely on walking up to the restaurants during peak dining times, then you're going to end up eating at the buffet or having room service. As for the food quality, the specialty restaurants are a small step above what you'd typically get at a nice sit-down Toronto restaurant. My sister is a foodie, and she was happy with what she ate. The buffet is a different story. Their buffet does offer a variety of continental and Mexican food, but it's not as tasty since it's not fresh. The meat gets tough, bacon gets hard, and there's not much you can do about it. The saving grace for the buffet is their made-to-order stations that whip up burgers, eggs, and smoothies. That's always a good choice if you're stuck at the buffet. Drinks - I don't drink, but my sister does. There were several times when she noted how strong her drinks were. Service - Amazing. Everyone we met was super kind and non-solicitous of tips. I had an issue booking the restaurant through the app, and an employee was not only able to book our reservations for the night, but also fix the issue. 10/10. No notes. Beach/pool - Beach is tiny, but it's still a beach! It is well maintained. Yeah, there is seaweed, but a team clears it every day. The sand quality is good, but not as great as Cuban beaches. The main pool is meticulously maintained. On the last day when I was checking out, I saw 2 guys in googles scouring the entire length of the pool. I hope they are paid well, because they did an amazing job. I don't think I've ever swam in such a clean pool in my life. There was also a jacuzzi, it was nice when the weather was in the low 20's, but it's not super warm. Rooms - Extremely clean. For a climate that is muggy and humid, I didn't detect a hint of mould in the washroom or on the linens. The decor is modern except the room phone. The balcony view is to die for, but doesn't face the sunset, but if you're an early bird, you can catch the sunset. The noise level is very good. There's no obnoxious music playing on the premise or surrounding resorts at night, A/C is whisper-quiet. We were woken up by other guests in the middle of the night, but that only happened once during our stay. Word of warning - after check in, you will be asked if you want to participate in a 90-minute sales presentation to check out Hyatt's other products. You'll be asked to purchase multi-decade travel packages costing around 20-40k or ~$300-500/ month. They lure you in with a coupons AND a voucher for 2 nights 3 days at the resort, which you'd assume is free, but it's NOT. It's merely a voucher for a DISCOUNT on a 2n3d stay. You actually have to pay 300 USD for the stay. The sales presentation is NOT 90-minutes, it's 3 hours out of your vacation. Initially, they'll pair you with a point of contact. They're very cordial and ask about your vacation habits, then you'll meet their manager, who is equally nice, but if you decline their offer, they'll send in a sales agent who is extremely aggressive. Just decline 3 times. Do not engage with the questions. Finally, they'll hit you with a final deal, which is another vacation similar to the one you've already paid for, then they finally let you leave. For most people, this experience will NOT be worth it and extremely unpleasant. I strongly recommend you decline participating in this sales presentation. Overall, I had an amazing and relaxing stay, barring the unpleasant sales experience, which you can easily decline. I wasn't part of the preferred club, and I still had an amazing time. As I'm writing this review with a driveway full of snow and a yellow warning for freezing temperatures, I'm getting nostalgic for Mexico!!

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Disappointed ☹️
This was our second time to this resort. We returned because our first trip here in 2022 was amazing. However things have gone terribly downhill. First our bed was so uncomfortable, and our pillows were horrendous! We ended putting our pillow cases on the decorative pillows and using them. The food was also not good! Which blows my mind as dreams hotels are usually stellar, but I this is the first stay at one since Hyatt took over. We had the steak at the Italian restaurant and it was like a jelly mush, like zero texture, it was so bad we just walked out of the restaurant and went up town to eat. The swimming area was also disappointing, the sand has washed out of the manmade area and it is now shallow and sharp rock bottomed. I love spending time in the water - not here.

Horrible food and low quality no variety no food or drinks anywhere after midnight pools small and limited lounges, beach was a sandbox. The only good thing was the weather! The hotel itself is nice and fairly basic, but the rooms are comfortable and well kept. We had a balcony with an ocean view, which made the stay very relaxing. The food was good overall. There isn’t a dedicated entertainment area, so any entertainment takes place on the stairs near the main bar. The spa was enjoyable, though some areas of the resort could use updating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and a nice resort. We strongly recommend that you don’t book with Air Transat even the staff at the resort said they are not a great company, all of their complaints are from guests travelling with Air Transat.

Dreams Flora Resort and Spa: Great hotel
Can't fault this resort in any way. It is not too big or too small. Pools are clean and well maintained. Entertainment staff do a great job and the entertainment schedule is welle organized. Ala carte restaurants are really good, and are a nice alternative to the buffet.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Good resort, loved the food
We enjoyed our stay at this resort. We went for 5 night with our 6 month old and overall were happy with the hospitality. The food was good and we have halal food which they took care of for all our meals. I have great things to say about their food concierge- Santo who made sure all our request regarding food were promptly attended. The housekeeping and dining staff is good but I dint really find the Front staff at reception very welcoming. The room they initially gave us had AC not working and broken sink and they took a long time changing our room. We were upgraded to a better room but it took them 3-4 hours to do this. Otherwise we liked our stay. Satisfied with the cleanliness level and safety standards. And again loved the food.

Dreams Curacao Resort Spa and Casino: Il Mare at Dreams Curacao
We had a wonderful stay at Il Mare. There were very many positives about this small resort and I will also share a couple of things that we feel needs improvement in order to attract folks, like us, who truly expect a 5 star resort when it is advertised as such. First of all, the transfer to the hotel from the airport was very disorganized. Our bus was held up almost a half hour while waiting for people to get on. It turned out those two people were actually us, who checked in with both Air Canada and the bus yet somehow no-one thought to get on the bus before the long delay to ensure we were on- which we certainly were. The bus then dropped us at "Dreams" next door and told us to walk to Il Mare. We are pretty fit people, so no issue for us, but another couple on the bus were not in the same position as us. Upon departure, we were assured by our butler(s) multiple times that we would be picked up at Il Mare and we watched the bus go to Dreams and then leave the grounds. $35. US later, to be paid by us, we got a taxi. Super disappointing. Now for the resort itself- the "pods" are amazing! It was a very cool experience being so close to the ocean and steps to our own beach. Housekeeping was decent and, when necessary, when we informed them they had missed us, they promptly came. Food was decent. Not "amazing" but decent. Sometimes you ordered eggs for breakfast and sometimes they brought you a ham sandwich. We just rolled with it. Their hospitality sector is severely lacking. Although everyone was kind and friendly, I don't think they have had any training on how to actually serve the public. That is a definite area for improvement. The beach area, although small, offered great snorkelling and you could swim once you got past the rocky entrance. The view and sunsets were spectacular- even from our room. We only visited Dreams to use the gym which offered very little equipment, dated, and mostly broken and unusable. We rolled with that too. Across the street was the 3rd resort that we had access to. Zoetry. Poolside lunch was the best "hot" (temperature) food we experienced. That resort is very pretty and tropical. And with that comes bugs, something we did not have at Il Mare. Our pool area was lovely and relatively quiet. There were no "rush to save chairs" issues. The grounds are well kept and tidy. There is only bar on this resort and service, like everywhere else was friendly, fun and painfully slow. The bar was well stocked with good quality liquors and beer and even the wines were pretty good. We did not really benefit from the "butler" service. We found them also to be friendly and very unreliable. It was easier to just pretty much do our own thing. We never made a dinner reservation and were welcome in to each restaurant at any resort with no issue. Overall, for the money we paid (we booked summer of 2025 for January 2026) we felt we got great value and got to see Curacao. We actually would love to go back to the resort but I really hope they are able to improve in some much needed areas before that.
