Beautiful beach clear water no seaweed which made us very happy, Beautiful grounds, eco friendly which was good and bad for me, we couldn't enjoy the lobby due to no air conditioner and no fan, so we were basically drenched in sweat, the food was very good and the employees was very helpful, I wouldn't go back to this resort ,but would choose a more upgraded resort next time...cozumel is beautiful.

Resort was good. The staff were amazing and always attentive. The food was good, not great. Wine and drinks very good. I think more food selection would've helped especially at the buffet. Rooms need help. You can see all the repairs done over the years. It was clean and bright so no issues with that. We had a swim out that connected to the main pool via a lazy river. Nice but again needs help. The tiling was uneven and you could see all the repairs that just didn't make the grade. Our favourite restaurant was Oceana. The view was amazing and the staff there were great. We got the sales job to go to a 1.5 hour review of their Unlimited vacation club on check-in (We heard it's really 3 hours with high pressure sales tactics). We declined and were not asked again. Beach is nice but very rocky when you go into the water. We didn't have a problem with that as we brought water shoes. Lots of fish to see right there once you get out 20 feet. Very little seaweed which was a plus when we booked. Cozumel gets a little while the mainland has piles of it at this time of year. We did hear they're shutting down this resort Jan 1 2027 to do a complete makeover. There is a section of new construction going on between Secrets and Dreams that will likely be used in the meantime.

The resort is dated but very clean. The staff are excellent. If you have accessibility needs, this resort is difficult to navigate. There are stairs everywhere with no railings, accessible toilets are very low and accessibility bars are ill placed, and the cobblestone walkways make navigating with mobility devices challenging.

Overall the hotel was acceptable. Food was good, however they could use some sort of grill at the main pool by the beach (e.g. tacos, fajitas etc.) They could also use more activities during the day.

Enjoyed entire resort, especially the trees, beach, people and cleanliness of rooms and all public areas on resort. Enjoyed all the wildlife there. Lovely relaxing week. Met friendly travelers. Loved restaurant at the beach. Will return soon.

We spent a week here (June ‘26) and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff were lovely, friendly and engaging. The activity crew were amazing, especially Joselyn, who was so outgoing and really took pride in her work. The food was excellent! There were delicious selections at the buffet (we only ate breakfast and a few dinners here) but enjoyed it very much! The Asian and Mexican à la cart restaurants were extraordinary. No pre-booking required and no long waits. The rooms are spread out in colourful bungalow type units. Our room had high ceilings and was well air conditioned. There are fresh water refill stations spread across the resort with glass jugs in the room to fill. The bar fridge was well stocked daily with beer and soft drinks. The beautiful trees and landscaping, with birds singing all day was my favourite part, along with the beautiful flamingos and peacocks roaming the paths. The only small downside was the coral entry to the beach. Water shoes were a must but the beach had plenty of lounge chairs and there was lots of room with nice white sand. There is a long pier with entry to the water which was great. . I would highly recommend this resort. Many patrons staying at the hotel had been multiple times and I can understand why! We would highly recommend the Iberostar Waves Resort!

We loved Dreams Cozumel. For a snorkeling vacation, you can't beat being close to the beach with easy water access to an array of tropical fish, some of which I hadn't seen before. But I do caution people to take water shoes! The resort itself is smaller, which we liked and the intimacy of the resort in terms of size; quality of service was excellent. Highly recommend upgrading for the beachfront view. The sunsets were beautiful. Thank you Colleen Scott for going above and beyond!

The resort actually made you feel like you were in Mexico with all the beautiful wood ceilings and the tile floors you knew you were truly in Mexico. It was very lush in the way that it had so much greenery. The trees and shrubs made you feel like you were in a tropical place (naturally). The grounds were meticulously kept, always on top of any falling leaves or debris. To our surprise, our room was huge! It was the size of our whole living room at home and the bathroom was just as surprisingly large. Clean and our A/C worked very well unlike some that we spoke with who did not have that luxury. The pool areas - The adult pool was great. Very relaxing and our bar tender Santos was awesome! As soon as you would start heading towards him, he would put up his hand and say, "I will bring to you". Never had to get out of the pool except to go to the bathroom. The main pool by the beach was much more active including water volley ball. Great for kids and adults. We did not use this pool as we mainly wanted to relax. The beach had a lot of lounge chairs, plenty of shade, beach volley ball and just relax and enjoy. Food - Most of the time we ate the buffet - breakfast & supper. Lunch was at the Beach restaurant. Both restaurants had a good variety of food. It's not like and expensive resort would have but it filled our bellies and kept us happy. We had supper at the beach restaurant the one night and it was very good especially the potato and leek soup. It was the best I had ever had! The only reason we didn't eat at any of the other a la carte's is that we'd forget to go to the lobby to sign-up lol The only thing that I wasn't impressed with was, prior to coming to the resort, I had told them we were coming there for our 40th anniversary. I know at other resorts, they always do a little something extra. We didn't get anything. It wasn't a real big deal but it would have been a nice gesture, even just a bottle of wine in our room. All in all, we had a great time and that's all that really counts!

Hotel grounds were amazing.. Beach was clean with lots of chairs for everyone.. Pool area was active friendly and fun with not too much noise.. Service was great everywhere.. Rooms were quite comfortable but noisy at the top floor.. Will be back if we can..

Dreams Cozumel is a wonderful Resort. They have great amenities. The room we were in had an amazing waterfront view, a large private balcony, king size bed and a huge bathroom. We had preferred status, so we had access to extra perks, which included a spa treatment that we both enjoyed. Also access to the preferred lounge was a treat. The staff were friendly and very helpful!

Booked this as a real last-minute vacation, 3 days before departure. Really needed to exchange the clouds and cold for some sun and heat. Husband and I thought the deal for a week at the Dreams Cozumel was excellent, so went for it. We lucked out with an amazing top floor corner room after having chosen the preferred club oceanfront option. Even though we were on the side of the construction (Sunscape, between Dreams and Secrets, is being renovated/built) we were unbothered by the occasional noise. In fact, we heard almost no noise apart from the waves and the birds when in our room and on our balcony. Even when the pool was in full swing with water aerobics or somesuch, our room was a true sanctuary. Entering the beach is a process and water shoes are a must. I did not snorkel but saw many other guests doing so just in front of the property. The amount of sargassum seemed "normal". There were plenty of places to sit on the beach. Since Sunscape was closed, the entire area in front of it was free. The recliners were not the cushy kind like the ones in front of Dreams, but there were plenty of palapas available and a good access point for entering the water. The buffet at Dreams was excellent. Personally, i thought it was better than the buffet at Secrets, at least for breakfast, so stayed at Dreams for meals. Italian at Dreams was very good but only got there once. It was supposed to be open on our last night but wasn't. Mediterranean was also good. In general we kept to the buffet since vegetarian options are limited in the restaurants and the guac was fab at the buffet. I also have to mention that having the buffet right on the water and partially open to the sky is awesome. Usually, buffet rooms are cavernous and tucked away inside a resort so you lose the tropical vibe of the whole vacation. The Dreams buffet is really a beautiful patio and lovely place to enjoy your meals. We don't hang at the pools much but found the small one right outside of the Secrets lobby to be very pleasant. Few people there and good for a quick refresh. I will caveat my review with the fact that the resort(s) was/were not at capacity and Sunscape was not open so, would service, noise levels, wait times and space be different if they were. That said, we truly enjoyed our stay at Dreams Cozumel.

We had an excellent week stay at the Westin Cozumel. Drinks are varied and not watered down with excellent service an attentive staff. Tip: bring a reusable straw. The food was great though could present limited options. Breakfast buffet style overlooking turquoise water. Lunch had two options while supper would alternate everynight between the two main restaurants. Room service is also available. FYI - If you are not a seafood lover, it eliminates half the menus. This is a hotel stay as opposed to resort style though we were surprised to see live music over the weekend in the lobby. The snorkelling is awesome right from the beach. Some folks indicated that the beach snorkelling was better than the excursions. Neibouring resort beaches were unswimmable. After a full day of beach or pool, you can relax at the adults-only rooftop pool and terrace to cool off in the shade or get those last rays of sunshine before dinner. For those that haven't experienced the "Westin Heavenly Bed", you'll sleep like a baby. This provided a much needed relaxing holiday. Jodi and Frank

We traveled with a group of nine adults in their 60's and enjoyed our stay. Check in could have been a bit quicker, but it went smoothly. The electronic bracelets are a huge plus as you don't have to remember to carry your room key everywhere. The bracelet opens your door! ROOM We were in a regular room. The rooms are on the smaller side but comfortable. Everything worked well. Very nice towels and bedding. Our bath towels were changed daily when our room was cleaned. Lots of hot water. Our fridge was restocked during the week and coffee supplies were also replaced as needed. We had requested a top floor but were placed on the ground floor which was fine. We had a big iguana visit daily to sun himself on our patio. The room was mostly quiet at night although we did hear the drumming show one evening. We were in block 45. FOOD We found that the food was more than adequate with a good variety and theme days in both buffets. We ate lunch in the beach buffet every day. We also liked that you were greeted at the buffet entry and shown to a seat that was all set and ready. We have been to many resorts where you arrive to eat and cannot find a table or a cutlery. The serving staff were very attentive with bringing anything you requested and checked on our table many times. We did not like the a la carte reservation system at all. The line ups were crazy and just a waste of vacation time. You can only make 2 reservations for the week. The Fuji, Japanese restaurant was excellent. The chefs put on a great show and the food was fantastic. The Italian was okay, but nothing outstanding. BEACH The beach is very big with lots of trees. We found the entry to the ocean was bit rough and sand was quite course with bits of coral and rocks. Once in the ocean, the sand was smoother and the water was crystal clear. We saw lots of fish every day. The area is very popular for scuba and snorkeling and there were many excursions available. The big dock to the left of the resort was very active with boats coming and going. There are lots of chairs available on the beach but no umbrellas so spots under the shade of the palm trees were very popular. ACTIVITIES and ENTERTAINMENT There were lots of activities on the beach and at the pools everyday if you wanted to get involved. We only saw a couple of beach vendors during our stay. POOLS There are 3 main pools at the resort plus 2 smaller pools and they are always full of kids. There is a kids pool for kids 12 and under with a huge slide and fun water showers, but it was not busy at all. It seemed like the kids were always in the other pools and often spent their days in the pool with the swim up bar, taking over all the seats in the pool. They also took over the hot tub. This was a bit annoying and it would have been nice to have a designated adult only pool. The chairs and umbrellas around the pools were reserved early in the day, so if you arrived later, you were out of luck. BARS There was a nice beach bar but it would get very busy at times with a line up. We found going to the bar near the kids activity pool was a better option as it was very quiet. We did have beach service on a couple of days. There was also a sports bar near the main buffet which was a nice spot to sit before and after dinner. SMOKING There are a couple of smoking areas on the resort and we were pleased to find that the smokers were using those areas. We did not see anyone smoking on the beach or around the pools. I think people were allowed to smoke on their patios. SUMMARY Although this is a very nice resort, we likely would not return as it was more suited to families with kids. If there was an adult section, we would likely return.

Whether it was a casual bite or a more refined dinner, the quality never slipped. The grounds were absolutely stunning—clean, well-kept, and full of vibrant energy. Walking through the property felt like being wrapped in a tropical escape, with every corner inviting you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Customer service truly elevated the entire experience. The staff were attentive, kind, and genuinely eager to make sure every detail was just right. It never felt forced—just natural, heartfelt hospitality. As for the room, it was exactly what I needed—comfortable, clean, and peaceful. It became a quiet retreat after long days in the sun, with everything in place to relax and recharge. Overall, the hotel delivered an experience that felt easy, refreshing, and memorable. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

The hotel is showing signs of being tired and in need of a refresh. The location is amazing, beautiful beach and great pools. The food is great in the restaurants. The buffet was great for breakfast but not a great variety at supper. As soon as we checked in and throughout our stay they tried to sell us the Hyatt vacation club. It got annoying!

The resort was very clean but in need of upgrading in some areas. The staff are what make this resort - there was not one staff we encountered who did not acknowledge us with a smile and hello. The food is average or less. The ala cartes are the saving grace, especially the Italian. Food at the buffet was repetitious and frequently lukewarm or cold. You have to ask for salt and pepper, and things like butter are not always readily available. Its nice not having to make reservations at the ala cartes or have a specified number of times you can eat at each one. If you are looking for a beach, this is not the resort for you. There is a small area for "beach" and the water is really only an inlet. The pools are beautiful and clean and 2 of them overlook the ocean and the cruise ships.

Great staff and snorkeling , don’t listen to the negatives if your frame of mind is right you will have a great vacation , learn to use the menu in the buffet if you don’t see what you want - the best omelettes in over 20 years of going south

The property is suffering from prolonged neglect and overall apathy when it comes to issues. We had changed from a pool view to an ocean view room to avoid crowds/noise at the main pool. Our room had a glimpse of the ocean, was directly in front of a noisy, active pool and right beside the speaker. Loud, thumping, bass from morning till just before dinner. We were forced to escape our swim out room and find a quiet place at a different pool to enjoy our days. Not worth the extra money we paid for the benefit of our own pool entry. Overall, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were disappointed and confused on our 2nd night when we chose Bordeaux to celebrate my birthday. The waiter was not just frosty, but downright hostile from the start, well before we had even uttered a word. We were at a loss as we were friendly and happy (on vacation) so unsure why he appeared so angry. It was an uncomfortable and tension filled meal. Overall the meals were just ok, as though the staff were doing the best they could with subpar ingredients. Our room had an alarming and overwhelming amount of mold present and the musty smell was overpowering. Air conditioning unit made a constant racket. No blow dryer in the room when we arrived; 1st one a staff member brought did not work at all. Mini fridge was not functioning; finally had a replacement after 2 days; also didn’t work. Had to walk to the bar to grab water, soft drinks, etc. The beachfront is beautiful and many folks took advantage of the snorkelling right off the beach. I would say this property is definitely not the jewel in the Secrets crown, evidenced by the fact that the UVC timeshare folks don’t push hard at all. How can you sell timeshares when this is the level of property you’re promoting? I would say that the brand shouldn’t be advertising a beautiful experience if they are unwilling or unable to deliver. Expectations definitely not met.

Food was delicious and Wendy and Lucy were fantastic at getting everyone motivated for daily activities. Beach is lovely, however rocky in spots when entering the water. Our room was great, as we went with the preferred package.

The service was good, from waiters to house keeping. The food was ok but repetitive.The beach is small and not enough chairs. Unfortunately they had a big storm two days before we landed and there was a lot of sea weed (out to the end of the long pier). Rotting sea weed is disgusting. The fans in the rooms really need cleaning, they were brown. In general ok resort, everything is close and the people are friendly.

The rooms were a mess the food was really really bad but the staff were nice , never going back. Broken tv broken mini fridge flooded room broken ac broken hot tub told it hasn’t worked for years. Entertainment was awful if it wasn’t cancelled . Sorry Allegro you need a change of management.

The beach is small but steps away. Our room was spacious, we had beautiful views off the balcony. The staff was friendly but not always attentive. The only thing I didn't like was the food. There were only two places to eat and the buffet was small. It lacked variety from day to day. The options were rather pathetic.

Staff wonderful. Food plentiful and tasty - many plant based options which we enjoyed a lot. Beach was small with rocky access (bring water shoes) and snorkeling from the dock. Beach walk 1+km each way. Weather 30+C each day with some showers overnight. Rooms were clean, beds comfy and close to beach/pool and restaurants. No stairs. Have brand name liquor and dos equois beer. Small resort so quiet and relaxed for couples and families. Many activities if you want to on beach and in pool. Dive shop on premise with many boat loads of divers and snorkelers all day. Trips from resort by boat and 4x4 ranging from U$80-140 per day. Will go back.

We enjoyed our stay here the ground's are beautiful the staff from the front desk were very friendly and helpful.The rooms are small but clean and beds are comfortable The food was good always something to eat. Breakfast and lunch were the best . Dinner time was abit of a hit and miss . But still ok if you got there early. Did not like the pool bar it's connected to the lunch area and service was very slow . So would go to the beach bar for drinks where they were fast and knew exactly how to make a good strong drink ! The beach was also ok alot of coral all around in the sand but plenty of chairs and lots of shade if that is what you were looking for .The cleaning staff was great ! big shout out to all the ladies that work so hard to clean all the rooms.Too be honest the entire staff at this hotel are great! Happy friendly and helpful. Entertainment is good at the shows and the entertainment staff at the pool are a lot of fun . We definitely enjoyed our stay will we be back you never know but we do love Cozumel.

Very well kept inside and outside. Beautiful landscaping. I would like see better food labelling as I have a severe shellfish allergy . I recommend having a separate grill for cooking non fish items as cross contamination can be lethal for those with allergies.

The physical hotel is nice - in relatively good repair. The housekeeping and groundskeeping staff are the best! Professional and friendly. The rest of the staff seemingly couldn't care less. The food is repetitive. I know it's Mexico but tacos every day?? There is one fresh food station only which results in long lineups. The rest of the buffet is the same day after day. The hotel does nothing to address the no smoking policy. They were in the bar, on the beach, outside the restaurant, in the pool. The hotel did nothing. A $10 taxi ride into town will get you a variety of food and entertainment....but I feel like the hotel should make an attempt. There is zero entertainment here...nothing. No music, no show, no effort. In fact, their motto should really be "we just don't try". Seriously, after dinner there is nothing until breakfast. We had enough after 3 days and left for an airbnb in town. This would probably be a great hotel if you were convalescing from surgery

The resort was terrific. Clean, good food in the restaurants and on the buffet. Small beach area but there is a couple of pool areas. One is the adults only infinity pool, very nice. Friendly staff. Walking distant to some attractions, restaurant/bars and shopping. Short cab ride ride to downtown. Highly recommend!!

Off the top, I have to say that the service team at this hotel ( speaking only of the servers that worked the buffets, pool bars and entertainment team) were wonderful! Unfortunately, that was the best part of the resort. Upon our arrival, the check-in was a terrible experience. We booked a deluxe double room (two beds - in fact, our entire group of 8 each booked the same, so 4 rooms). They gave us each, except for one room, a king size bed. When questioned they basically just shrugged and said there was nothing she could do. Anytime we asked for assistance or directions during the week, we were greeted with a grunt and a chin jab by the same girl. ROOM - Fine when all is said except cleanliness - the cleaning staff do not have an attention to detail one would expect from a 5-star resort. FOOD - NOT GOOD. I have traveled through Mexico extensively over the last 15 years and stayed anywhere from 3 to 5 star resorts...mainly 5-star over the last 4 years, the food was 3.5 stars at best and they do not take major allergies into consideration. One of our friends has a seafood allergy and had to keep asking for special accommodation which they could not always grant. The a la carte restaurants were difficult to get a table at and the food was always served lukewarm or even cold. Oh, and don't expect a balcony unless you are lucky enough to be assigned to the building closest to the beach...or upgrade to the royal level (I'm just assuming that they have their own block of rooms woth balconies). I have never stayed anywhere in Mexico that did not have a balcony - I know - first world problems but there you have it. For what we paid, which worked out the same as what I paid at Secrets Maroma just 4 months prior, I expected the same level of service and accommodations. I could go on but what I have commented on are the key components that can make or break the customer experience.

This resort is not a five star but definitely a 4.5 star. Food can be improved! You can always find something to eat,repetitive menu for buffet! The resort grounds and rooms are beautiful. By far the beach is the best and very good snorkeling! The entertainment staff kept the vibe going for sure! Many games were played and shows were seen! Thank you Allegro for an amazing holiday! Carnival week was a hit!

Loved this resort. The beach is great with a beautiful candy bottom and the waves were very calm especially for our grandchildren. The kids pool was amazing .The food was good and the japanese restaurant was so much fun. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was good and stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks. We'll be back for sure!

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. The start was difficult as there was no room for us due to maintenance issues. We were relocated for one night to a dismal room at the adjacent resort Dreams, though came back to a nice room at Secrets, but it was a disruptive start. Highlights were good snorkelling off the beach, fabulous weather, good food and overall nice resort. Night music and entertainment was minimal.

I have been to Mexico, Cuba and Dominican several times. This resort by far was my worst experience. The food was scarce and consisted of mainly rice, and recycled chicken and beef. No sweet deserts were available, and locating a coffee cup, spoon or ketchup was a challenge. The entire resort stunk like a septic tank (literally waking us up during the night) and the rooms were moldy. The very worst was the toilet that leaked non stop, with no attempt to fix even after reporting this issue, three times. The pools looked clean but one of the whirlpools was disgusting. The best part of the trip was that by some miracle we were not sick! lol

The rooms were small and dated but very clean. King bed was comfy, sheets and pillows very clean. We really enjoyed our stay but don’t lose your wrist bracelet which opens your room. These are tied on and the staff member that tied mine and my wife’s on did not tie it well. We both had ours fall off and I lost mine. This cost me 1000 mx pesos.

Grounds were nice with wildlife and birds. (saw a wild pig) Bars were fine. (not enough indoor seating) Food was good. We didn't do any Ala Cartes and my wife didnt have a dress to bring and pants rule on men was not enforced. Our ground level room was good but only 2 double beds made us cramped as we sleep together. There is enough room for 2 queens. No face-wash clothes supplied and they would not give me 1 to shave with as they are for Royal members only. Shower was good and lots of hot water. Main pool at beach was chilly due to previous cooler weather. We loved the beach and snorkeled there 3 times. All and all we would recommend this resort and give it a 3.5 rating. Transfers were on time and resort closer to airport which was nice. Staff were all friendly.

We found the grounds beautifully kept. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our only beef was trying to get reservations at the specialty restaurants. We arrived Thursday night and went to make reservations the next morning and there was nothing available expect 8:30 at night which is much to late. We were told to come Sunday morning to make reservations. We were first in line and couldn’t get a reservation at the Asian restaurant because there was 12 of us. We could get 6 one night at 6 o’clock and 6 another night at 8:30!, Needless to say we were very disappointed. As for the other restaurants we found the food very repetitious, pretty much the same stuff every day, especially at lunch! The buffet food was sometimes cold (scrambled eggs for example).Overall it was a very nice resort but they need to do something about their food!

My wife and I were very impressed with the environment at Occidental Cozumel. It felt so peacefull and safe there. We were living in a green space manicured every day by staff. The food was plenty and delicious. The rooms are large clean and completely equipped to serve the visitors. We did have a: balcony but many units had one.

We have vacationed extensively throughout the Caribbean—including previous trips to Cozumel—and unfortunately, this recent stay ranks near the bottom of any resort experience we have had. We arrived late afternoon on Wednesday, January 28, and checked into Royal Level Building 21, Room 2126. From the moment we arrived until our checkout on February 4, we had no hot water in our room. Not once during our entire stay was this resolved. Customer Service & Response January 29–30: We repeatedly spoke with Royal Level staff and were told each day that the issue “was being fixed” and would be resolved “in a couple of hours.” January 30: After no progress, we approached a manager (Abigail) at the front desk. She again stated it “was being fixed” but could not provide an ETA. When we expressed concern—particularly given the extra cost of Royal Level—her response was, “What do you want me to do?” She then suggested we “speak to Air Canada to see if they’ll move you to a different resort.” Her tone was dismissive and unhelpful. February 2: At 10:00 a.m., all water to the whole resort was shut off entirely. We were told it would be out for four hours. Although it was turned on by dinner, we still had no hot water For the remainder of the week, we continued checking with Royal Reception for hot water and were repeatedly told staff were “working on it,” yet we saw no evidence that the issue was being addressed. Food & Dining The food was mixed at best. Buffet options for lunch and dinner were bland and repetitive. The à la carte restaurants were acceptable, but nothing exceptional. Overall Quality We spoke with several returning guests who told us that the quality and service at Occidental Cozumel have been declining steadily over recent years. Based on our experience, we agree. Conclusion Between the complete lack of hot water, poor handling of our concerns, inconsistent food quality, and overall decline in service, we cannot recommend this property. We will not be returning.

Pretty Hotel on the smaller size as advertised and there is no real beach. its a 10 MIN and $10 dollar US cab ride to downtown. Room was good and very clean and the bed is a queen and was comfortable with a nice sea view and small balcony. The bathroom is on the smaller side but nice flow of hot water in the shower. Room has a little kitchenette with sink, coffee maker and microwave. We were in the low rise part of the hotel and had to walk up 3 flights of stairs. The tower side has an elevator. We did the all inclusive so meals were in the one restaurant. Had no complaints about the food, the drinks were great and the staff is very friendly and very helpful. It was early February and the pool was very cold. There is a hot tub and small gym tor use. My complaint is the entrance stairs into the ocean are ridiculous. Steep, slippery and one of the rails to hold onto is broken. Looks like it has been this way for a long time. Watching people go down the stairs looked treacherous especially because it was windy We managed to go in on the other side of the small beach by holding on hard to the wood railing. Nice snorkeling all around, plenty of fish to see. There are 3 to 4 large cruise ships very close by that come everyday starting at 7am to 6 pm. So if you don't like your sea view partially blocked then not the place for you. Also there were cruise passengers that came to the hotel for the day. The weather wasn't ideal so there weren't too many.

The grounds were well kept and easy to get around the staff are very friendly and helpful the waitress at pool and beach are excellent and they were easy together along with the bartenders at the lobby bar did not seem so good as at the beach the food on the breakfast and dinner buffet was not kept hot lunch buffet was much better had Italian dinner and was not impressed overall this is a nice resort and easy to get around as a senior but the cold food is a strike against

The grounds were outstanding. Love the feeling of being in nature. Food at the buffet was good. The Asian restaurant was very loud and the food was disappointing. We had to upgrade our home. Our original room was dark and musty. The upgrade room was on a second floor, much brighter but still musty. Bed was very comfy. Wished there would have been bicycles available.

I must say, I was disappointed in this resort. I found the food and alcohol to be substandard. The pool area is shaded a good portion of the day, the pool is ice cold, the beach is very rocky and the waves are so strong there was a red flag up all week indicating a strong undertow, not recommended for swimming. The house cleaning came daily but never removed any dirty dishes from the room.

This is a lovely hotel with on a gorgeous stretch of beach and a very short drive from the Cozumel airport. The staff are incredibly courteous and professional. The property is small, yet has lots of amenities and fun activities to offer! We played mini-putt, target shooting with paint guns and participated in the water aerobics. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The food was good and the restaurant service was tops! Even though the ocean in front of the property was a little murky with the sargassum, the snorkeling was outstanding just beyond the breaker wall at the edge of the property. A special thank you to Jorge, Adrian and Veronica who were always at the ready with a smile and meal service that went above and beyond. Circe was extremely helpful with reservations for bali beds and beach loungers too - many thanks :) and finally Alfonso our butler welcomed us and made sure we had everything we could want during our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to return!

The beach is beautiful plenty of loungers as well as the pools. Rooms are dated but comfy beds and linens. Staff are amazing very attentive and friendly. The grounds are kept extremely well very clean. Cons: not pleased with the food at the buffet. Usually cold lacking variety. The restaurant booking was frustrating,had to line up at reception desk to book daily for only 2 reservations permitted for 7 day stay. Only 3 restaurants to choose from. The Mexican was disappointing, food was cold and awful. Asian was good but hard to get into. The bar drinks were good and many choices. Mini refrigerator was stocked daily with soda, water and beer. I’d recommend but be aware that the buffet needs improvement was disappointed with that. Love the feel of a smaller resort.

We spent a week at this resort two weeks ago, and we like our vacation at Iberostar very much. Transfers, check-in and check-out were quick. We got the room that we asked for. The room was in good condition, hot and cold water had excellent pressure, shampoo and conditioner were of a good quality, beds were comfortable, linens were all nice and clean. The resort itself has been well maintained and makes great impression: jungle like greenery all around the resort is fresh and beautiful. Christmas decor in December looks super nice in the evening and creates a very pleasant ambiance. The main buffet and the one close to the beach are both good. The variety of food is great, and all food is very tasty. The only negative experience at the main buffet was cat like animals that get to the buffet at dinner time and make a mess around dirty dishes that wait to be put away. Staff at the buffet tried to keep these animals away but unsuccessfully because there were way too many of these animals there, and their behavior was unpleasant. We didn't go to any restaurants this time because we weren't impressed with food there last year, so we can't comment on restaurants this time. The beach and the Caribbean Sea are lovely at this resort. Water is crystal clear, calm and warm, and there is lots of fish to see right at the dock. Water shoes aren't needed if you prefer swimming off the dock (there are dock steps to the water there).. If you want to go in the water from the beach, water shoes are highly recommended. The resort is a paradise for divers - all places where divers go are exceptionally interesting, and dives are very well organized. Snorkeling trips are amazing, too and highly recommended for all underwater world lovers. Night entertainment at the resort was so-so in general; however, we liked the Fire show. It was really interesting. Service at the resort is fine, in our opinion. Overall, we had a very nice week at this location, and will be back.

All around ,grounds ,rooms ,restaurants,pools, the little beach , were nice and kept clean, and people working there very courteous . The chefs had prepared tasty foods and sweets . Yet ,the whirlpools not functioning and therefore the water not clean . No chance to use book exchange for all guests , for members of the club only !!! And for people with reduce mobility the grounds surface is not so friendly by design , even though looks nice .

Older resort that requires some upgrades. Hot water was intermittent during stay and many guest were complaining about have no hot water. Food was not up to 4 star but staff was good and tried hard to ensure proper service.

We got to the resort around 2:30. Our room was ready for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole room itself, the king sized bed and the huge shower. The food at the resort was hit and miss. It depended on the day and the meal time. The pools were great, the beach was amazing.

Overall we enjoyed our two weeks. Pools excellent, easy to secure loungers, beach ok for walking to the left only but could not enter the ocean due to wide stretch of coral. Could walk off diving pier to swim and do some snorkeling. Entertainment was first class with their own staff singing and dancing with no lipsyncing. Staff all helpful and very friendly We rate the food options as very good with just a couple of hiccups eg no bacon available most mornings Bar service and cocktails were very good Ambience is incredible as resort is situated in a beautifully landscaped jungle setting. Rooms are all one story or two story 4 room buildings. Rooms overall were very good

A beautiful location, beautiful beach and great snorkeling right from the resort. The resort was perfect for our multi generation vacation. Small enough to walk easily and find each other. Lots of deck chairs available around the pools and on the beach, never had a problem finding shady or sunny spots to relax. Tons of activities for all ages pool and beach volleyball, pool games, cornhole, darts, bingo and so much more. A games room for evening fun and entertaining shows. Food was good, buffet was a bit repetitive but good and there was always a chef cooking a different fresh option each night. The a la carte meals were fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small and a little dated, but kept clean and beds were comfortable. Each porch had hammock which was a nice touch. Cozumel airport was small and really easy to arrive at, only about 20mins to the resort.

Great location not so far from main port as well as city’s centre. Grounds are kept impeccable and staff are friendly and always willing to help. Kids club activities are well designed and fit a big range of ages

This is a beautiful modern high rise hotel with amazing service. It is a quiet hotel suitable for seniors, although there were young families as well. No loud music or partiers here so you can relax! The three restaurants had excellent food. We enjoyed both the main pool and the one on the roof top which is adults only. There were umbrellas on the beach but it was quite windy so they were removed part of the time. We suggest some permanent structures be built for shade. You can snorkel just a few feet from the shore and see many different fish. However, if you like to take long walks on the beach Cozumel may not be the place for you as it is very rocky. There is a small sandy area in front of this hotel where you can enter the water. We would come back again and recommend to our friends!

Lovely location, clean well cared for grounds and buildings. Super pleasant and accommodating staff. Great entertainment team with always something going on, but not pushy to get you to join if not interested. Loved that you can see the beach/water from pool area and good location of amenities like bathrooms and water/ice stations

Sunscape Cozumel is a 3 star resort and not a 4 star as advertised. There was one pool and 2 options for meals. There was a very limited number of dishes at the buffet. We had a number of issues with our room including a balcony door that did not lock and a door that that did not seal shut. The entry mecanism was quite tempermental. There was a lack of towels in the room. We had to repeatedly ask for hand towels and facecloths. We had to repeatedly ask for soap at the bathroom sink. There was body lotion but no soap, which meant the need to go into the shower to get bodywash every time we needed to wash our hands.

Stayed for a week in March. The resort had beautiful grounds with a variety of wildlife roaming around. The food was really good, we preferred the buffets over the a la cartes. The rooms were basic but had nice, updated bathrooms. All the rooms had a terrace or balcony. You actually enter the room through the balcony/terrace door, there is no other door. You have to get up early if you want a chair in the shade, the resort definitely could use more shaded areas (as with most resorts). There are however cruise ship people that come on a day pass so you definitely need to find a chair before they come onto the resort otherwise it’s slim pickings. Very friendly staff. Overall a great stay!

In 50 years of travel, this was the worst experience to date. We arrived late at night and after a lengthy check in we're left to find our room in the dark by ourselves. The room was dark, smelly, small, dirty and in poor repair with an ac unit that sounded like a 727 landing in the room. I pulled back the bed cover to reveal dead insects and skin debris off someone's nasty feet. We requested a room change and were offered for just $500. USD an upgrade to include use of 3 resorts along with a high pitched sale to join the Unlimitied Vacation Club. We declined and were given a new room that was acceptable. There are 2 restaurants, Italian and Asian with limited choices in each. I was unwell and missed a day of my stay as I was in bed. This was a first for me to get sick while traveling but the food is that bad. You have to save a chairs on the beach by 6-7 am and this does not ensure they will not be occupied when you arrive foe your time on the beach. We had people just take over our chairs and towels and refuse to return them to us. The only positive was the staff, they work hard to really try to please and are working with limited resources . Do yourself a favor and don't pick this resort. I read the bad reviews and thought how bad can it be? Well it was bad!

Rooms rundown. TVs not working in the entire resort all week. Hot water slow to come out. Food not good no taste overcooked few choices. Only 2 resturants lineups at peak dining hours. The Secrets and Dream hotel guests could come over and use our one pool take our chairs and eat in the 2 small restaurants and we could not use their amenities. Staff wanted us to move to Dreams for 300 US dollars and kept asking us daily to sign up for preferred membership. From what we saw it didn't really look much better at the Dreams and Secret hotels. Our pool was family friendly and the beach was nice. Only one bar and alcohol was watered down not tastey . When you are on holidays you hope for good food and drinks not at this resort. I am not a picky person. If you don't mind overcooked greasy food not Mexican then this is the place. If you wanted a beach chair you had to get up at 7am to put your towels down. One morning our towel and chairs were taken while we were at breakfast. Every man for himself. I would not go to this resort even if it was offered for free. I have travelled to many all inclusive resorts and this was the worst. Nothing to do in the evening only one show all week.

Hotel: 4 out of 5 star Pros: Nice hotel in the north hotel zone. Clean area inside and outside. Pool/Ocean area we had no problems getting a lounge chair or getting a drink. Due to it not being all inclusive you wont deal with the drunk buffoons. Ocean was a good place to snorkel with plenty of fish/sealife in the area Cons: A bit far from town, 1.5 miles/2.4 km so 15-20 min walk or 100 peso cab ride. They do not have a complimentary shuttle bus or city buses in that area. We just rented scooters for the week which cost about double what the taxi rides would have cost. The pool was on the cold side 23c/75F which was very noticeable compared to the ocean temperature. They don't have a beach, you climb out via a ladder and the ocean is about 15ft deep when you get in. Restaurant and bar are closed at 5 which is very early compared to the rest of the area. Room: 3 out of 5 star Pros: Nice room, bed was comfortable with a reasonable amount of space in the room for the price. Bathroom was large with stand up shower and sink. plenty of room for 2 people to live comfortably for 7 days Cons: No fridge! you need to ask if they have one available at the front desk (they had one available for us). If they do it is free of charge but as it is not all inclusive and we were making breakfast and lunch as well as keeping drinks cold a fridge was needed. The hot water in the shower was very strange. it would go from ice cold to scalding hot back and forth every 30 seconds if you didn't get the dials within a 1/4in of the sweet spot Staff: 4.5 out of 5 stars Pros: Friendly staff, they helped us with every single thing we asked for. Lobby, cleaning, bar and concierge staff were all helpful if you asked we asked for something. I forgot to pay the bar bill one day and they were not rude about it at all. A few of them were very direct without a phony smile on there face but were still helpful when needed. I honestly cant understand why some trip advisor posts had directly said they were rude. Cons: None Cleanliness: 5 out of 5 Pros: Room, Lobby, Pool area not once did i come across any area that wasn't clean. i didn't use the public bathrooms so i cant say but our room was cleaned everyday, the maid even cleaned our dishes for us which i was not expecting Cons: None Food: N/A We never ate at the restaurant as we purchased what we needed. The bar was good, prices more expensive then other places and much higher then buying from the store. If you do decide to buy your own food and alcohol go to Mega for Walmart type items (generic items) or the Chedraui if you want groceries (specific items). Prices are around 30-40% cheaper for a lot of items then prices in Canada, so probably 60% cheaper for our Yank neighbors and both stores were comparable in pricing

The resort was good, i did need an elevator for my walker and i booked the ocean view and was told it had elevators but it did not. The gardenview and upgrade building did have elevators and the resort did upgrade us at no charge because of their mistake. The beach was lovely. The resort is small which we preferred. I didnt enjoy the buffet. There was an amazing restaurant 7 min walk down the street called the Lobster house that was great and reasonable. The staff was great. I did find if you are using a walker or wheelchair some of the ramp are pretty steep. Overall it was a good holiday

Beautiful grounds. Peaceful and quiet. Rooms are spacious, nice bathrooms. Al la carte restaurants amazing. Buffet has ample variety. Only con for me is, a lot of walking, big property (I have bad knees)

We LOVE this Resort. We were pleasantly surprised with everything this Resort had to offer, beautiful manicured grounds, so clean on the grounds, pool area, beach area, restaurants and entertainment areas. Our room was located on the ground level of a 2 level unit. We could sit on our patio, surrounded by lush gardens and listen to pleasant music in the air. There was never a problem getting a lounger on the Beach, lots of them!! The beach was super clean, the water was crystal clear and blue. All the restaurants exceeded our expectations. We did not try the Italian restaurant, this time. I really can't say enough about this Resort, it was EXCELLENT and great value for your money. We will be back for sure and we don't say that very often. If you are thinking of here, Book it, you won't be disappointed.

This is a great little resort on a beautiful beach with crystal clear turquoise water. Great for swimming and snorkeling. Buffet food was always a good variety. The Oriental restaurant with tepanaki was absolutely fabulous and the staff are super friendly. If you are looking for a quiet resort to relax and enjoy the sun this is it. We will definitely be back.

While the view from our room was beautiful, we wouldn’t return to this resort. Beach is small (although good snorkeling), pools were good. Food was absolutely terrible. Not for those with accessibility issues.

We truly enjoyed our time at Allegro Cozumel. All staff were so friendly, especially the staff at Santa Rosa (the premium level area). Premium was worth the extra money: rooms closer to the beach and away from noise of night theatre and disco, access to Santa Rosa where we ate breakfast and lunch many days (less selection than the bigger buffets but more than enough to suit us AND in an air conditioned building) and a nice private pool/beach area with bar service. We also played cards in there a couple of nights, with AC and bar service. Fast and easy check in and they'll assist with your a la carte bookings. Oriental restaurant was so fun, we went twice! Henri and Carlos made us specialty coffees in the main buffet at dinner and Henri also treated us to Bananas Foster...yummy! Grounds are very well kept, rooms are on the smaller side but ours was very clean, AC worked well and we always had hot water & good water pressure. They also made different towel art each day in our rooms. Buffet food was average and sometimes only warm vs. hot, but always left full. Different dinner themes each night. We tried all of the a la carte restaurants. Definitely the Oriental was our favourite, followed by the Mexican. The Italian was good as well. We booked this resort based on it being one of the only affordable options in Cozumel and we would definitely return. Had some concerns based on some reviews we read but we really had no issues at all. Its location is great with beautiful ocean views, beach and sunsets. We will go back for sure!

This resort is absolutely beautiful. The natural surroundings are stunning; very clean and well kept. The attention to detail is noticeable. I loved the variety of tropical plants and there were so many birds and small animals. The food never disappointed, and the Smokehouse was our favourite by far. The staff were happy and nice to talk to. The location is secluded and felt safe. Only downfall is that a hurricane many years ago washed away some of the beach sand, exposing some rocks along the beach. The beach is beautiful for waking, sunning, playing, but you'll want to go in at the pier to swim or snorkel. I recommend this resort 100% and can't wait to go back!!!

The resort grounds/ gardens were gorgeous! It felt like you were in a botanical garden. We stayed in the Royal section which has its own pool and restaurant, which is amazing if you want a quiet area to relax! The royal restaurant was truly amazing! Food was always presented beautifully and tasted even better! We also enjoyed the food at the Mexican and Italian restaurants! The seafood restaurant is gorgeous as it is on the Ocean, unfortunately we did not like the food which was very disappointing as we love seafood. The seafood restaurant in our opinion should be the best restaurant in the resort as it is on the Ocean!! The buffet restaurant had a good variety of food but we found it very noisy and often waited for an outside table for this reason. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beach was adequate, however needs some palapa or umbrellas!!! All of the staff were very helpful and pleasant! We never felt like we were putting them out by requesting anything! We would definitely return to this resort!! We would pay the extra for the Royal section as the restaurant and restaurant staff were amazing!!!!

We stayed at Grand Park Resort first week in Feb We found the Resort lovely the grounds were beautiful and very clean,rooms clean and staff wonderful We never had a problem finding a chair near the pool or beach, snorkeling was awesome The only issue was I found the food not hot at all ,luke warm at best Other than that we had a wonderful stay and would recommend

We have been coming to this resort for many years and we have never been disappointed- we couldn't get our usual room but one directly behind it which was fabulous as well. Food was great also and the grounds are amazing- another reason why we keep coming back. Absolutely no complaints at all- we will always come back.

Dreams Resort, waiters very friendly, always attentive about filling juice/wine glass when empty. Great food! Cleaning crew efficient services. Beach waters had sharp rocks, small shells and coral. Water shoes required to enter. Pool has an extreme drop step about 3 feet deep in the middle which may cause a fall. Be cautious of the sudden drop! Dreams Resort had two other resorts to freely walk over and have the choice of their buffet, al-cart restaurants, and watch their evening entertainments. Overall experience, Excellent!

We loved the pool area, the entertainment, the luscious grounds, the dinner in the piazza, the staff. We cannot say enough good things about the resort. Our room needs a little touch up but was always spotless. We will definitely be back.

The Hotel is nice clean and the food was great but the check out was not good we checked out on time and they gave us a ticket for our return transfer to the airport took that to the bell hop and they asked us to wait a few moments after 10 min we went back and he said oh you missed your transfer you will have to pay for a taxi now which cost $20 us to the airport we went to westjet desk at the resort no one there to help we had no choice but to pay for a taxi or be late for our plane this really needs to be rectified at the resort level or tour operator level or both very disappointing on all levels to have to go thru that stress on your way home , what if we didnt have the cash then what????

Resort is small and clean with amazing staff. Anything you need is available and you can also use adjacent facilities in other two hotels nearby. Beach is beautiful and clean however it’s rocky so water shoes are recommended. There is also a lot of sandy areas in the sea and it’s perfect for snorkeling. There are certain points where access to the water is better than in other parts so find your best option to comfortably enter the water. My only concern would be that smoking is totally forbidden in any of the areas of resort and only place to smoke is outside the front gate and area is not welcoming and clean. I have been previously in other resorts where smoking is also prohibited but there were some areas where smoking was allowed and was nicely provided with ashtray and seating area including some greenery. I am not smoker but found this quite disrespectful to people who are. Room was clean and included all that you need, including fridge with water and pop and beer which was replenished daily. Food was good, however the variety could be better. There were three restaurants where you can have dinner and reservations were not needed. You can also go to other restaurants in nearby two hotels. Buffet is open daily for all three meals with one day closed for dinner. The best part of this hotel is the staff. I found service extremely good. Bartenders at beach bar (Armando) and lobby bar (Jesul) are very friendly and knowledgeable and make delicious cocktails. Alcohol selection was great and included all premium brands. At the restaurants, servers are very good, Eloisa, Francisco, Julio, Alejandro, Amado were always there to serve and help with our needs. Beach concierge Irving always made sure to talk to guests and ensure that lounges are available and try to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe. All in all I had great time and would definitely like to come back.

I want to start by saying that we’re not picky travelers and usually enjoy wherever we go, but this experience at Sunscape Cozumel was beyond disappointing. This is our second time in Cozumel, and I can confidently say I will never return to Sunscape—even if they offered me a free stay. From the moment we arrived, the front lobby staff was aggressively pushing a $380 US massage package for one hour (per couple). Of course, we declined, but it set a bad tone for the rest of our stay. The worst part was the food. There are only two restaurants on the property. The buffet is only available for breakfast, and for lunch and dinner, you're forced to endure a slow, painful à la carte experience. Each time, we waited 30 minutes just to be seated, and another 30 minutes to be served. I can tolerate the wait if there’s a varied menu to choose from, but both restaurants had just 6-7 options, and the menu never changed. It felt like we were eating the same limited choices over and over again. The lack of variety, the frustratingly slow service, and the overall lackluster dining options were a huge letdown. It’s hard to relax when you’re dealing with such poor food service, and I would never recommend this resort to anyone. If you're looking for a place with decent food and a better overall experience, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Please don't waste your money on this resort . After spending $7500 for 7 days i feel sooo ripped off. Upon check in there was no orientation of any kind - we were left to find everything aside from our room on our own. The ocean was very unfriendly with lots of sharp rocks the entire length of the beach so no wading into the ocean without tripping on slippery rocks /coral. The umbrellas were either rips or alot of them didn't go up. they beach chairs in the non preferred area where cheap and well worn with no padding what so ever . Their "preferred status" is an absolute rip off. It wasn't offered by Trip Central and after reading their reviews and inquiring was told it didn't include much and that it would be cheaper if i inquired upon arrival . This is did to find out it was an additional USD150/room per night which include the use of Dreams, Sunscape and Secrets, an additional restaurant at Secrets, lounge area and a small pool. Nothing worth that kind of money. there were no arm bands to indicate you were preferred and no one really told us what was preferred and what wasn't. So after 3 days of using a swim up bar in one pool ,on our way back to the room from a day at the beach, we were questioned by a young gentlemen about how was our stay , room etc so far . He proceeded to ask our room number and promptly told us to move as we weren't on his preferred list ! I'm sure glad i didn't pay extra for preferred as there was no way to tell who was what and where. The buffet was the worst i have ever see in 25 years of travelling to the Caribbean! At breakfast very little fruit only one kind of meet and if you wanted bacon (which was never out ) you had to ask every morning and they only brought it to you there was never any out on the buffet . The bread was wonder bread, no quality high grain breads ( which i would expect at a 3 star but not at a 5 star that's over $1000/night ?? Choices and selection at every meal on the buffet very small and limited and not 5 star quality . The washrooms accessible from the beach area smelt so much that sewer that they were hard to bare going into I have been many times to all inclusives for NY celebrations but NEVER have i had to pay extra to be a part of the celebrations. The least expensive seats for a buffet dinner and some entertainment were USD 400 per couple and went as high as $1000 per couple for a front row. this was all staged on the beach and the buffet was set out on the beach . The food was decent however after that food sat on the beach from 7pm to approx 10 pm it was packaged up and we found the exact same food , leftovers, on the buffet the next day at lunch and then again at dinner !!! Some of which had been fresh seafood ............. Booze was not premium either which you would expect to find some at a 5 star the entrie resort is very tired - the rooms are ok and you could tell they'd been Reno'd not that long ago but still tired. There was other things but i think you get the idea . Considering all my partner and i wanted to do was take a quiet 7 days on a great beach in a bit of a luxury setting and rest and this is what we got . We made the best of it ............................. the only redeeming thing were the staff - they were polite and would go out of their way to assist you with what ever .. that said they were enough for us to ever consider going back there or to any other secrets for that matter. As a Hyatt owned establishment they should be ashamed of this offering for this kind of money

We had a wonderful stay! This is a 3 1/2 star resort, so go with that expectation. The rooms were nice, we were on the 2nd floor with a garden view with a peak of the ocean, very nice. We were thankful we were not on the ground level. The grounds were kept up beautifully and the staff were very friendly. There is a buffet restaurant and an a la carte, food was good, but a bit repetitive. The pool had a kids slide, not a relaxing spot as loud music was normally playing. We were there at Christina,, so a busy time, chair had to be 'reserved' with towels just after sunrise of we would have been out of luck. The swimming and snorkelling was amazing, just off the beach. I liked that it was a smaller resort as well.

The hotel grounds were beautiful, lush and well maintained. We were located in building 19, a short walk to beach and activity pool. The adult pool is located directly across from building 19. Hotel room was clean and spacious. Check in/out was quick and efficient. Hotel staff were courteous and eager to make our stay positive. Despite the receding shoreline, we enjoyed the warm and calm waters of the ocean and were able to snorkel right off the beach. Buffets were good and a la carte restaurants were amazing! Our family would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Overall, our stay was okay. The food was good, and the service was acceptable. However, several aspects of our experience were disappointing. First, we specifically requested a room with a King bed, but we were informed that it depended on availability and was at the hotel's discretion. We had no other option, which was frustrating. Additionally, the first night, we had Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel, but starting the next day, the connection was only available in the lobby. Despite multiple requests, we were simply told all week that they were working on resolving the issue, but nothing improved. Finally, the most disappointing part happened at our departure. Although our flight was scheduled for 2:00 PM, our all-inclusive bracelet was removed at noon during check-out. This meant we no longer had access to lunch or the bar to get water. This situation left a very bitter taste and ruined the end of our stay. In conclusion, despite a few positive aspects, this experience was quite disappointing. Due to these issues, I will not return to this hotel.

This was our 4th. time to the resort!!! I am not sure if we will go back. We had a group of 9. Trying to get rooms close together was impossible even though we made reservations 6 months in advance. The service has definitely gone DOWN HILL!! The staff tries hard to do the best that they can but unfortunately there is no help from management. There was no coffee pods for the rooms, no soap, shampoo or wash cloths. The staff said that there were no supplies. It was nice to have the Coco cafe on premise, too bad that the ice cream freezer was not working. We were told to go to Secrets but we had children so that was out of the question. Some of the sidewalks are in great need of repair because of the wholes, it makes it hard for people with mobility issues or parents with strollers. Great snorkeling!!!

The beach is impressive: sandy with gradual slope and mostly sandy bottom. Most of the time there was almost no waves - except for some days when the wind direction changed to northern. Food was very ordinary - limited options, however there was always at least one type of meat/poultry/fish + something at the grill station. Salad/fruit/desert stations were way better though - no complaints :) Nobody in our group was hungry after all :) The hotel is on the smaller side - which is what we liked - so there was no problem to find a chaise lounge on the beach or a table at the buffet. Maybe because it was the second week of December right before the holiday high season. The rooms are kind of smallish and I wish there was a chest of drawers and a larger closet to hang cloths. The dive shop has mostly short sleeved 2 mm wetsuits - that I found a bit too cold for December water temperatures - or maybe I'm too sensitive to cold :) - the diving instructors largely compensate for any equipment shortcomings though - all are knowledgeable guides and responsible professionals, very serious about divers' safety. For the price we paid I'd say this hotel is a reasonable value - we got what we actually expected. So I'm recommending this hotel to people who have adequate expectations (read my review above :)

Just got back from an amazing week at Allegro Cozumel. There was a group of 8 and we all loved the resort. The staff was amazing wherever we were from the rooms to the dining rooms and the entertainment. All such beautiful attitudes towards the guests. The beach was brand no problem finding a lounge chair there. The Asian a la carte was phenomenal. The chef put in a great performance and food was spectacular. This is definitely a place we will return to and we met so many couples that were on the 2 nd and 3 rd stay there.

What stands out most about this hotel is the excellent service that we encountered from all the employees. The room had a nice balcony. The bed was very comfortable. We found both pools very cold, but the ocean was lovely and warm. The staff made a concerted effort of ensuring my husband had gluten free food. The food was good. We plan to return.

Spent alot of money on our vacation. Celebrating our 20th anniversary. We splurged and got a swim up room. The hotel was a little tired/dated but at least it was clean. The food which I was looking so much forward to was ok. We had to go to into town to get good real Mexican food. Beach was ok -great snorkeling easy to get a lounge chair 2-didn’t spend much time around the pool cuz we had the swim up room..eh would I do it again prob not-I kinda don’t like the Hyatt hotel chain -rubbed me the wrong way I guess-first time ever to an adults only -

Beautiful grounds , beach and pools amazing, rooms clean great water pressure in shower, staff were exceptional !staff listened and helped out when we needed to change up our rooms, no lines or very short lines in the dining room ( buffet)

There were plenty of lounge chairs. Resort was very clean. 3 to 4 star food. Excellent wait staff. Room was spacious and clean. We had a beautiful view from our balcony although the bed was a bit hard. There were big rocks near the edge of beach making it slightly difficult to get in the water. The water was crystal clear which made it good for snorkeling. Saw plenty of fish from the pier.

Great spot. Everyone there was super friendly. Very family friendly as well. Buffet was great. I don’t see why people were complaining. The Mexican restaurant on site was beautiful inside, but the food was not good. I just wanted a simple taco but no bueno. I’d go back for sure.

While the staff are doing a good job, the resort itself is handicapped by its location and other issues, The cruise ships are in your face at the beach, not across a pier faraway. There are not enough loungers for the number of guests, neither at the beach or around the pool resulting in a rediculous rush to reserve loungers before 7am. Guests are so aggressive they crash through barriers to get their towels on the best spots before 6am. A dispute erupted with one self-absorbed guest insisting she had intended to reserve the lounger I took that didn't have a towel on it and I should have intuitively understood that it was reserved without a towel because of its location beside the loungers she had put a towel on. I told her she should have put her underwear over all 3 loungers,it could have fit...case closed. Don't bring high heels, walkers or wheelchairs the sidewalk is concrete and natural stone and worse than cobblestone. I saw an elderly woman crying with a small gash on her head sitting on the sidewalk. I hadn't witnessed the fall but I knew the cause. There are 11 all-inclusive resorts on Cozumel, Royal Park Cozumel is ranked #8 for a reason, although it should be noted that it is not the worst. I went to the ala carte Mexican restaurant on Tuesday night, I spent all of Wednesday with Montezuma's Revenge a most terriible gastro-intestinal war was going on inside me. The battle was still going on but I got up to enjoy a birthday excursion I had booked previously on Thursday, I suffered the rest of the week. My overall assessment of this resort is certainly influenced by my experience and I can assure you I won't be going back. Did I say the grounds are lovely, a lush green jungle full of grackles and iguanas. I'll leave you with a metaphor; when the grackles aren't tweeting, they are squawking.

We stayed 1 week at El Cozumeleno in Feb 2023. The resort lobby and grounds were very clean. The staff were amazing. The food was what you would expect at a Mexican resort - buffet style; one dining restaurant that was tricky to get into. Drinks were plentiful and cold. We snorkelled, played mini golf, corn hole, bingo by the pool and dancing lessons. The people that stayed here were very social. When we walked the beach, we thought we had the best place along the strip. We had a great time. The room itself was cold (19 degrees - day and night). The first day we were there there was no hot water. But all in all it wasn't that big a deal.

Resort is small, very rustic, a lot of vegetation around buildings. Rooms are clean, they have 3 restaurants and you don't need reservations for them. Entertainment team great. Beach is nice but small, you can do a bit of snorkeling. The only inconvenience is that you cannot get into the sea without water shoes because of the rocks.

Stayed in February 2024 When you arrive at Cozumel, the second you get off of the plane the sales pitches begin. You’re directed to a person that will try to sell you the normal excursions. Once you get away from them you’re directed to your actual rep. As soon as we spoke to her she told us to be weary of the previous sales persons. Which was a little late, or could have been if we had signed up for something. The shuttle ride to the resort is short. Once you get to the resort you’re put into the checkin area. Air conditioning and sparkling wine. And the selling begins again. They’re definitely too pushy and the pitch is way too long. Once we got away to our room our air conditioner was blasting away. (A little too much but we quickly found a comfortable temperature for us). The rooms are clean, bug free, the beds are comfy and pillows are great. No one gets a King bed and everyone has two doubles from what we heard / saw. There are two restaurants at Dreams. But you have access to others at secrets and sunscape. The food at the restaurants is great and breakfast is good too. The pool is very cold. Gets next to ZERO sun. And it is very small. The beach is also very small. And between the beach and pool there is no where near enough loungers for the guests so you either get up at 5 to claim a chair, wait to nab one if someone leaves, or just don’t have one. Finally … the house cleaners (or whoever ever else let themselves into our room during the day) stole from us. I had a very expensive facial serum taken from the bathroom. We didn’t let the cleaners in after the second day for this reason which was a pain for towels and getting new water bottles. I searched the room for a couple days to make sure I wasn’t mistaken before I said something. Once I did say something the staffs response was … yeah well (insert a shrug of the shoulders), we can always improve on things. No apology. He didn’t even bother to ask what had been stolen. All in all we wouldn’t return. Partially for the service. Mostly for the hotel and its beach / pool area.
