This was our second trip to Secrets Akumal, so obviously we were already positive about this resort, but this time we brought another couple with us. Pretty much everything we remembered about the first trip in 2019 was the same and we had another great time. The only thing we changed is we splurged for the swim-out suite, which was a big win. We loved the tranquil pool last time as it was separated and quiet, but having that same luxury out your back door was even better. To top it off, room service is now handled through the phone app instead of having to call in, so you can easily have them deliver your food out to the back patio and set it up while you are swimming! Honestly, the only downside of this resort is cost (gone up quite a bit since 2019) and the distance from the airport. Flying into Cancun it took us over 2 hours on the airline provided shuttle as we made a few stops along the way. Other than that, love it and already talking about going for our third trip next year.

Secrets playa Esmeralda was a big surprise for the better. Really nice hotel ( we stayed on the preferred area and it is worth it for sure ). Great drinks great food and very attentive stuff. The beach was really nice and if you walk to the left the water is like a pool.

Fantastic Resort - amazing staff, great room, great grounds, pool, food all of this was 5 stars - service was even better, my wife chose this resort for our 25th Anniversary, it wasn't cheap but well worth the extra $$ we wanted to spend. Looking forward to returning sometime in Jan / Feb 2027.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we are considering a return trip in August 2027. This was our second time and firstly what helped us to decide to come back were the staff, that’s what impressed us the most. They were always providing exceptional, friendly service. What made me feel at home was our closest staff who remembered our names The grounds were kept immaculate, the food was always fresh, the bars top shelf, the beach and pools are beautiful. Of all the staff, our bartender Bernando was who we had a connection the most. He brought my wife special drinks to her pool chair. I don’t drink so he ordered Almave non-alcohol tequila, hard to come by at the resort. Special mention should be made to the bartender, Alejandro (Alex), Pool/ Beach Waiter Noe, Pool/ Beach Waiter Anna, Pool/ Beach Waiter Franchito (Fransico), and Pool/ Beach Waiter Henry. Restaurant waiter Santiago was the best, Restaurant waiter Xavier was great. Restaurant Maître d’ Isabelle being our anniversary she sat us at beautiful tables. Pool Concierge Jose, Pool Concierge Antonio, Pool Concierge Ruben. They all provided us with fresh towels, adjusted our umbrella, cool wet cloths, cleaned our sunglasses and explained all the daily activities. Newly Promoted Building Concierge Max, he was always offering to assist us in any way. In closing I feel it’s the management who make Secrets the most desirable resort in the Riviera Maya, they set the culture, the standards, and the quality of total guest satisfaction. Overall we enjoyed our time there. The beach is beautiful and they really clean the seaweed very well every day. The pool area was also really enjoyable and people from the pool bar are very nice and constantly going around to serve you. I want to mention the only women at the pool bar Lady - she is a lady indeed - she is making awesome cocktails, not once mixing up an order and she is very funny always joking and with a smile on her face. The grounds are very clean and people are helpful and nice . Food was ok - at the buffet they could use a bit of variety in a 7 day vacation because especially for breakfast we had the very same pastries every day. But the omelettes and eggs and smoked fish was awesome and the ladies which make the omelettes are really good at what they are doing . All à la carte restaurants are good - we had very much fun, good food and very nice service at the Japanese and also the grill one - to mention here Marlon Brando- hard working and fun guy. Entertainment was also good, the shows were diverse and pretty good and fun.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it was perfect! The resort is beautiful and feels so romantic. The rooms are spacious and modern. The entire resort felt clean, the staff were amazing everywhere, so friendly and helpful. Based on pictures we knew this would be a great resort with the numerous pools and overall aesthetic. What really surprised us was how good the food was! Again, we expected decent food in Mexico compared to other all-inclusives we've been to, but the restaurants here blew us away. We loved that we didn't have to book a reservation, we could just go to any restaurant and we could visit the same one multiple times. We ate at Jasmine, Bordeaux, and Bluewater Grill - Jasmine (my favourite) was delicious if you like Asian food, sushi is a must. Bordeaux was my husband's favourite, the lamb was to die for! Comparable to high end restaurants in Toronto (where we're from), I also loved the creme brulee there. Bluewater Grill was good, but the food was not as amazing as the others, what sets this restaurant apart is the atmosphere. Being outside, feeling like you're in the jungle, it's very romantic. Drinks all around were delicious, so many margarita options, I think the only drink I didn't love was my mojito, but everything else was amazing. The beach was also much like the resort, beautiful, great food, service, and drinks. The shuttle did not take long, it never felt inconvenient. The seating there was very comfortable as well. We travelled in August, which is not busy season so I'm not sure if this would ever be an issue, but we never had a problem finding a cabana or somewhere to sit by the pool/beach, tons of those everywhere and tons of pools to choose from! If you wanted a quiet space or a more lively space, you could find it. I've been recommending to friends and family and I would 100% return!!

The resort was amazing, as Secrets Resorts always are! However, I am posting an example of their exceptional customer care. On my final day, I suffered a medical emergency and the care that I received from the Conceirge was incredible. Berleane, from Conceirge, came with us to the hospital, arranged the visit to the pharmacy as well as the taxi back to the resort. As a result, we missed our scheduled flight and Berleane helped us through the entire process of rebooking and all of the ridiculous run around and lack of customer support that the airline was giving us. It was such a terrifying and stressful situation and Berleane's care and kindness, made this situation so much less stressful. In fact, Secrets went above and beyond to make it as easy as possible for us to remain in the same room for the additional 2 days that we were required to stay. That kind of compassion does not go unnoticed and for it, we are so very grateful. We will continue to choose to visit Secrets Resorts.

We visited in late July and the resort was beautiful. When it comes to details, management and staff thought of everything. Our room included a walkout pool overlooking the main pool area. The cleaning and service staff did everything to make our stay extra special. I will surely visit and recommend this resort to others!

Beautiful area of the country. Still undeveloped. Best beach so far. Food average and some ala cartes good and some not so good. Buffet good variety and staff are excellent. Front desk staff are careless and not very helpful. They tried to over charge for the preferred package not knowing I had researched how much it was from here. Wanted crazy money for something I didn’t think was worth. All you get is top tier liquor by their standard, extra restaurant and a butler. All of which have no value to me. Their area is gated off but not on the beach itself. The resort is new and nice but the area is being developed with other resorts planned already which are even higher end. Good to visit now to see the beautiful beaches as not sure how long that will last. Would go again but would try other resorts planned already. Overall a solid 4 star. Also was our anniversary and nothing special was done. Maybe the butler might have if I had chosen to pay thousands for preferred but not really worth a bottle of booze, banner and maybe a bubble bath set up.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 — An Amazing Experience at Secrets Cap Cana We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Secrets Cap Cana! The service was truly 10 out of 10. The restaurant service, room service, and bar service were all exceptional, with friendly, attentive, and professional staff who made our stay even more enjoyable. A very special thank you to Angelo and Francis for taking such great care of us and always being there whenever we needed anything. Their kindness, attention, and excellent service made us feel truly special. We highly recommend Secrets Cap Cana and look forward to coming back again!

Resort was good. The staff were amazing and always attentive. The food was good, not great. Wine and drinks very good. I think more food selection would've helped especially at the buffet. Rooms need help. You can see all the repairs done over the years. It was clean and bright so no issues with that. We had a swim out that connected to the main pool via a lazy river. Nice but again needs help. The tiling was uneven and you could see all the repairs that just didn't make the grade. Our favourite restaurant was Oceana. The view was amazing and the staff there were great. We got the sales job to go to a 1.5 hour review of their Unlimited vacation club on check-in (We heard it's really 3 hours with high pressure sales tactics). We declined and were not asked again. Beach is nice but very rocky when you go into the water. We didn't have a problem with that as we brought water shoes. Lots of fish to see right there once you get out 20 feet. Very little seaweed which was a plus when we booked. Cozumel gets a little while the mainland has piles of it at this time of year. We did hear they're shutting down this resort Jan 1 2027 to do a complete makeover. There is a section of new construction going on between Secrets and Dreams that will likely be used in the meantime.

Despite multiple mixed reviews, we went with out gut to Secrets Michès and loved it. We received a warm and genuine service since arrival. Top coktails and drinks all day with Mildred, Dani and Pedro at pool bar and with Yafreisy at Lobby bar-- best Lemon Drop and Maracuya Martini we ever tried. Good food at main restaurant lead by Chef Alejandro and service by several team members like Yohan. Overall fantastic value. A la carte restaurants were good: we were surprised by the Mediterranean food Meraki and by Tierra which were our favorites. Did not wait long for a table at any of them. Fair live music and shows with the entertainment teams who work really hard and do a fantastic job. To the complaining Karens and Kens saying they paid for more than you get: if you are paying less than $1,000 USD per night per person, you are not overpaying!

When we checked in they put us in a room right behind the restaurant that was under construction so there were literally jack-hammers running all day. It was brutal. After the first night they moved us to a different building which was better, but you could still hear the construction. We were only at the resort for 5 nights so it wasn't worth moving again. The food in the restaurants was decent, however they have very limited options for a restricted diet as we are both gluten free and dairy free. I would not say this was a 5 star vacation, the facility is dated and needs updating in certain areas, but please let visitors know if there is signifcant construction going on as we would have picked a different destination. Our concierge Francis was excellent.

The resort was clean and the rooms were nice, though the layout of the resort felt dated. We wished that there was a buffet for dinner that we could quickly grab hot food. Service at the restaurants was very slow. We often didn't leave until after 8pm, even though we started our meal at 6pm. The food quality wasn't consistent. We ate at Ocean twice. Once the food was good, the 2nd time it was not. The spa service was good but the young lady who checked us in was rude and not very knowledgeable, and because of that we were left with a credit on our account because she didn't understand how to book the services we were requesting. We missed out on our manicures because of this. The water therapy and back massage was good. #1 annoyance. Activities at Secrets catered to VERY small groups. The craft painting only has 8 people allowed to register. THAT's CRAZY. with a resort with over 500 people you only allow 8 people to an activity. Most people at the resort were nice! The beach was nice. but I wouldn't return to this resort

To book a vacation stay with Secrets St. Lucia, make sure you understand the terrain of St. Lucia and you're comfortable with the longer route from the airport to the resort. All we knew about St. Lucia was that it was perfect weather and the place was exquisite. We had an excellent driver, Akim, who navigated the winding roads expertly. It took me awhile to warm up to Secrets because of the first impressions I've had at other resorts where someone who greet you with a cold beverage and the lobby would be cool and inviting. Secrets was lacking this and it deflated me a bit, especially after a long bus ride, and a long plane ride. We were given a quick explanation of the activities and such, but what I really would've liked was an orientation on how to use the switches in my room or the shower setup. Thank goodness our room wasn't far from the action because it was hillier than expected and waiting for a golf cart to do pick up and drop off would've meant for a long wait. But, I embraced the extra exercise since I was fresh off of a hip surgery. The Entertainment Team were great for my rehab! I would give the cleaning staff some advice about cleaning out the broom or mop after each use because we had way too many hairs from other rooms or left over from the previous tenants. That made me question the cleanliness of the whole room even though it looked wonderfully presented. Our swim out pool was a great refresh after a long day. I didn't quite realize that it wasn't connected to anywhere though. In other resorts, it's part of a lazy river that takes you to a bigger pool. Again, do your research on this part. The tree leaves were also in abundance in the pool everyday. I would've enjoyed a lounger instead of 2 small chairs and a table. The curtains always got in the way too every time you went in and out of the door. Just little things but they add up over a week. We met some lovely fellow Canadians and Brits and Scots-always a good time. We went on the Joy Cruise excursion for the volcano, waterfall, and lunch and it was delightful. Terry.5 could be a bit crude and opinionated. The second day we did the sunset cruise with them and I strongly suggest you eat beforehand because it was not an actual meal for the sunset cruise. The views were wonderful though. There are 2 big pools on the resort and unless you got early and got a spot with an umbrella, you were out of luck. If the resort is reading this, I wish you would add more umbrellas so people weren't fighting over them. All of the food places were 5 star except for when the Market Cafe turns into the Seafood Grill at night. It was a big let-down. And I don't know why the chef at Le Petit is always grouchy that you come in for food. She needs to hang out with Agnes more from the Market Cafe, she was the sweetest lady making omelettes every morning! Ronnie is a wonderful singer so don't miss getting to hear him sing. And if you want great drinks service, ask for Crystal!

Our first visit to Mexico umpteen years ago was to a Secrets albeit a brand new one. Since then we've been to Mexico many times and several other continents so perhaps its we who have changed. Grounds are great and rooms very comfortable but that isn't enough for this level. With so many special events the resort is very noisy at night. Food was average across the board with only Oceana and the Mexican Restaurant rising above that. There was a lengthy list of small things such a a finicky toilette, tricky desk chair and inconsistent refresh of food items that illustrated a lack of attention to detail. Of course Mexican staff were amazing as they are everywhere. Also the location made it easy to access old town and the romantic zone. I don't think anyone would have a bad time here but it just wasn't that step up that we expected for a Secrets.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Secrets Playa Esmeralda from beginning to end. The resort is stunning, beautifully maintained, and the beach is truly breathtaking. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed, relaxed, and completely taken care of. The food was excellent with so many great options, and every restaurant we tried was delicious. The service throughout the resort was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuine. Our room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, making it easy to fully unwind and enjoy the vacation. We especially loved the relaxing atmosphere, the entertainment, and how every detail seemed thoughtfully planned. Whether at the pool, beach, restaurants, or spa, everything exceeded our expectations. Considering this is a new resort just opened August 2025 we did not experience any inexperience. Everybody was professional, friendly, enthusiastic, helpful, and super friendly. This was one of the best vacations we’ve had, and we would absolutely return. Highly recommend Secrets Playa Esmeralda to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and memorable getaway in the Dominican Republic!

We particularly enjoyed the Privilege Lounges and the ala carte breakfast and being close to the ocean. The food and service at the restaurants was exceptional. We especially enjoyed the Patio and Meriaki. Staff are awesome, shout out to Jonathan our Butler who was always at our service and Juliana at the Privilege lounge.

The hotel is beautiful right from the entrance and modern. It is easy to negotiate with most restaurants and facilities in the middle of the resort. Service was outstanding after an initial miss at check in (no champagne like other guests, just a sales pitch). Room was beautiful with a great view of the water and the resort from building 9. Lots of opportunities to enjoy the outside in the restaurants and bar. The food was excellent in all restaurants except the seaside grill. Italian and seafood restaurants were outstanding and service was exceptional. Great that you didn’t need a reservation for any except the hibachi. Loved the social pool with aquafit and the instructors ( entertainment team) were excellent. Fun and a great workout. Tried the jungle pool but very limited seating if you didnt rent a cabana. Shows at the rendezvous bar were very good and time at 8:30 was very convenient after a long day in the sun. Definitely will return. The staff is amazing. Red flags at the beach every day but the hotel can’t control the weather. Shout out to Antonio at the buffet, Seina and Taylor from the entertainment team.

Everything was lovely. Staff were friendly, activities were great. Food, lots of variety. Cleanliness great. Rooms were great and amenities were filled. Entertainment was also great, and just overall atmosphere.

It truly is a beautiful resort... with wonderful landscaping and blooming flowers everywhere and adjacent to a golf course. I can see why so many events and weddings are held there (I think there were 4 that happened in the 7 days we were there). The staff are also absolutely fantastic. The only thing we didn't care for was the main pool music was quite loud and they seemed to play a lot of old 70's 80's music (and not the good stuff) for some reason... so definitely not the typical music you get at resorts in Mexico. As such since we were lucky enough to have been upgraded to the Preferred Club, we spent most of our time at the smaller preferred pool where it was very quiet. If we didn't have this option, we would likely have just hung out at the west end of the main pool (opposite end from the swim-up bar) where it was quieter. Note: there are no chairs on the beach and even beach access is restricted due to the huge waves, so sitting down there isn't an option at this resort.

Such a beautiful, clean resort! Nice lay-out too so there isn't a ton of walking.We had a swim out, non-preferred room, which was located conveniently close to the swim up bar! Great lobby and theatre area for entertainment and overall, good service! In terms of the food, there's lots of options and variety! Our facorite ended up being Portifino.

The front desk and lobby areas seemed to be clean and in good order. The elevators were slow, had dirty glass and in need of repairs. The tile in the pool need to be repaired. Maintenance worker was in the pool chipping out tiles. Raccoons attempted to jump on tables while we were eating supper. Our room was not in the condition it should be for a 5 star resort. Dirty tub, large caulking gaps with signs of mold showing. Sliding door for the balcony was very difficult to slide open and closed. The handle was loose. The mini fridge was leaking and must have been leaking for quite some time because the rust stains on the floor are signs of this. Inconsistent with the quality of the towels in the room. Had some that were thin and had frayed edges. Good for use as a cleaning rag.

Thank you Nicole Deforest for organizing the most amazing vacation! Now for the review: this hotel goes above and beyond to ensure a luxurious vacation. The food was incredible, the grounds were spotless and lush and the employees were gracious and incredibly helpful. Antonio and José, the pool’s concierge did an incredible job of ensuring everyone at the main pool had a clean, fresh towel and shade. I loved the fact that there were no “chair wars” at the pool. Dinners were wonderful. The food at Portofino Restaurant was so delicious, we went back a couple of times. Live music entertained us while we dined. I should also mention that the resort’s restaurants were very diligent regarding food allergies. At each and every restaurant, my husband‘s anaphylactic allergy was noted on his profile. The nightly entertainment was wonderful and there were many choices. I can’t wait to go back!!

This resort is beautiful. The property layout is interesting and well done with lush greenery, subtle night time lighting and curving paths interspersed with fire pits surrounded by comfortable seating for sipping a high quality drink and gazing at the stars. The à la carte restaurants were mostly very good while the buffet at breakfast had choices for every palate. We chose the Preferred Club and enjoyed our building’s location near the beach and the stunning room plus the fabulous service from our butlers, Gloria & Alfredo. They made us feel very special. The only downside was difficulty getting a poolside lounge over the Easter weekend due to the influx of travelers from Texas. After they left, it was much easier. A real highlight was our interactions with the incredible well trained staff. Their friendliness and enthusiasm are second to none. I would return in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed our stay at The Vine Cancun. The service was excellent; especially Malbel, she keeped our room spotless. Adrian at the Market Cafe understood what why service in important. Our Chef at our tasting table was amazing explaining every dish severed.

The hotel is showing signs of being tired and in need of a refresh. The location is amazing, beautiful beach and great pools. The food is great in the restaurants. The buffet was great for breakfast but not a great variety at supper. As soon as we checked in and throughout our stay they tried to sell us the Hyatt vacation club. It got annoying!

I stayed at Secrets Tulum for 7 days and 6 nights, and honestly, the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. They greeted me with a warm smile, a hot towel, and a glass of champagne, which set the tone for the entire stay. The service throughout the resort was exceptional — the staff were incredibly attentive, always checking in to make sure I was okay and asking if I needed anything for my room. It never felt forced, just genuinely caring. What really stood out to me was how the staff went above and beyond. The cooks and the team at Coco were especially memorable — they took the time to remember my order, even though I wasn’t there for very long. That level of attention made me feel valued and seen. Room service was also great — always on time and exactly what we needed. We did have one small issue during our stay, but Louis handled it so well. He made sure we felt heard and went out of his way to make it right, which I really appreciated. I went for my birthday, and they truly made it special. My door was decorated, and right at midnight, room service surprised us with a bottle of champagne and cake. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the whole experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway, this is definitely the resort for you. It’s peaceful, intimate, and perfect for couples. If you’re looking for a party vibe, this may not be the spot unless you’re coming with a group and bringing that energy yourself. The club is open until 1 AM, and while it can be quiet, the DJ is great and really plays based on the crowd’s vibe. Overall, I would absolutely return. The service, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail made this a 5-star experience for me.

We had a wonderful vacation at Secrets. The food was probably the best I have ever experienced in an all inclusive resort. The service was definitely second to none. I would highly recommend paying this resort a visit. :)

The saying “You get what you pay for”? Certainly true for our stay at Secrets Tides in Punta Cana DR. Words cannot truly describe how our vacation was….so we’ll repeat what we said at the start,and at the end, of our stay at Secrets…AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!!!

The property is suffering from prolonged neglect and overall apathy when it comes to issues. We had changed from a pool view to an ocean view room to avoid crowds/noise at the main pool. Our room had a glimpse of the ocean, was directly in front of a noisy, active pool and right beside the speaker. Loud, thumping, bass from morning till just before dinner. We were forced to escape our swim out room and find a quiet place at a different pool to enjoy our days. Not worth the extra money we paid for the benefit of our own pool entry. Overall, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were disappointed and confused on our 2nd night when we chose Bordeaux to celebrate my birthday. The waiter was not just frosty, but downright hostile from the start, well before we had even uttered a word. We were at a loss as we were friendly and happy (on vacation) so unsure why he appeared so angry. It was an uncomfortable and tension filled meal. Overall the meals were just ok, as though the staff were doing the best they could with subpar ingredients. Our room had an alarming and overwhelming amount of mold present and the musty smell was overpowering. Air conditioning unit made a constant racket. No blow dryer in the room when we arrived; 1st one a staff member brought did not work at all. Mini fridge was not functioning; finally had a replacement after 2 days; also didn’t work. Had to walk to the bar to grab water, soft drinks, etc. The beachfront is beautiful and many folks took advantage of the snorkelling right off the beach. I would say this property is definitely not the jewel in the Secrets crown, evidenced by the fact that the UVC timeshare folks don’t push hard at all. How can you sell timeshares when this is the level of property you’re promoting? I would say that the brand shouldn’t be advertising a beautiful experience if they are unwilling or unable to deliver. Expectations definitely not met.

Please don't pay attention to the naysayers who didn't like this resort! We were glad we put our faith in the positive reviews we read! This is not a brand new resort, but it has been quite extensively updated by Hyatt since they took it over. The grounds were lovely and lush with lots of floral hedges, trees and bushes. The beach although not very wide, is well kept and not rocky! You can wander out into the water easily, and it is a fair distance before it gets deep. Almost NO sargassum, and mostly very gentle waves. There are tons of loungers at the beach, however there are not enough palapas or umbrellas to provide shade for all guests, thus the need to get up early, around 5:30am, to get your choice of location! We were in room 355, a deluxe partial ocean view king room. It was not a preferred club room which we usually do select, however once we arrived we were happy we didn't pay the extra for one as there really was not a lot of extra value with it. Our room was a bit smaller than we had expected, and the hanging closet space was very limited, but the room overall was nice and was cleaned daily with towels and water refreshed daily. The restaurants were good overall, with our favorites being Morgan's Pier where the lamb shank and the beef bourguignon were our favorites, followed by the Seaside Grill for their shrimp and steak (steaks are much thinner than Canadian cuts though!) The biggest plus at the resort was definitely the staff - can't give them enough praise for their pleasantness and helpfulness, always smiling with a hello and have a great day!

Rooms are great, grounds are beautiful and well keep,the food is so good,we ate at every restaurant and never had a bad meal,beach is a 2 minute walk and is gorgeous, snorkeling was great,gotta walk down to the boat and float down the chute,so many fish,pools are huge and no problem getting loungers.The staff is so good from the maids to the bartenders,all super friendly. I will be back very soon,cheers!!

Food was delicious and Wendy and Lucy were fantastic at getting everyone motivated for daily activities. Beach is lovely, however rocky in spots when entering the water. Our room was great, as we went with the preferred package.

Just an overall amazing experience that exceeded our expectations. Quality of the food, level of service, amenities all exceptional! Although the Resort was near capacity, we never had to wait for service or to be seated at a restaurant. Beach and pool areas were exceptional and always clean.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms were spacious and new. Beach was awesome. Could walk in either direction for hours. Food was a 8/10. There was room for improvement on choice and service. As compared to other secrets resorts. But I would definitely recommend the resort. Try to book preferred. Rooms they are closer to the beach.

We had a shaky start since we arrived late (past midnight). Seemed to be no one around to greet us. There was only one woman at the front desk and they didn't get the email about our friend's milestone birthday, but they worked with us to help make things better and ensure we ended up having a fun trip. We particularly enjoyed the water aerobics with Emmanuel and Rodrigo, the salsa lessons by the pool with Rodrigo, and Angel was such a great server who took care of our needs poolside. Helen, Tamara, and Erika were also helpful in making things up for us and listening to our needs.

After being on a plane for over 5 hours and then a 90 minute drive to get to Secrets, we were delighted to arrive. We were greeted with a cool towel, lovely, but no offer of a drink, even water. We were then told we were Preferred Club and were instructed to follow someone…We had to go up a hill, climb a number of steps all while exhausted and carrying our carry on’s. We were brought into the lounge, told to find a seat, still not offered a drink, and were given paperwork to sign while being told at least 3 or 4 times that if we broke anything in the room we would have to pay for it…A Concierge told us we had coupons but since we were tired, we could discuss the next day. We never heard from her again? Our Butler then walked us to our room, down a hill and up a lot of stairs still dragging our carry on’s. He explained the room features very well. We had asked to be close to our friends, (at the time booking 6 months earlier) but that didn’t happen, we were two buildings down from each other.  We were told they would look into getting us closer together but it never happened. The view from our room was beautiful, but it was quite small. It was the best water temperature we’ve ever had with a swim out. Our friends were upgraded to a suite, again when asked why given we booked at the same time and paid the same $, the response was “sorry”. Getting to and from the beach can be difficult if you have mobility issues. It was very difficult to get a ride down from our room. We went to the Preferred Club one morning to request a cart and were told none were available because they were picking up luggage. Again we received the standard response of “sorry”. We tried to call the concierge as per our Butler’s instructions and couldn’t get through. Honestly, very few of the concierge were of any assistance at either the preferred club or in the lobby. The Preferred Club beach portion is very small without enough shade so we ended up on the regular beach each day. Special events during our stay blocked off the entire preferred club section and a large portion of the regular beach. Overall, the beach was well maintained and we enjoyed our days there. Our friends had to be down before 5 to secure a spot for us, if we wanted shade. The Preferred Club itself was small. The bartenders were fabulous. The food selection in the preferred club was extremely limited and not really appealing. I don’t think I would book the preferred club again if I were to go to another Secrets. It really didn’t seem to be worth the extra money overall unlike other resorts where there is a marked difference in service. The people who work in the restaurants, bars, beach staff, coffee shop, cleaners etc. were absolutely fabulous. I can’t say enough about how lovely they were. The food was good overall at all the restaurants and better quality than many of the other islands we have been to in the Caribbean. I would return to St. Lucia, and stay at a different resort.

The hotel itself was not large. The layout made it easy to get around. Rooms: Decent. Our first room had a leak near a light and this caused us to move to another room with a connecting door which we did not like because we could hear the people in the room next to us. Service: Front desk when we checked in was not warm nor welcoming. Even if our arrival was early morning the person should have been more welcoming. We also messaged the resort several times explaining we are celebrating our friend's 50th and would have liked something special. We did not receive anything special until we asked for them to send up some thing two days into our stay. The front desk person said she would arrange something but it was not done. We saw many other doors on our floor with a ribbon/sash that said happy birthday, happy anniversary, congrats honeymoon. So, we were disappointed. The entertainment staff were very good. The food was decent. The italian and seasalt grille were the best. The breakfast buffet had variety. The asian and steak house were our least favourite. I wish the next question below had a maybe option because I am not sure if I would recommend this resort. If there was an exceptional deal I would. But, if it was the same price as other comparable resorts I would not recommend.

We stayed for 2-weeks Feb 26-Mar 12 and it was scorching hot every day and it why we went that far south. Service from all departments was excellent, and we did not find the Hyatt Vacation Club sales team overly pushy. The staff here make the difference. Almost every accommodation was made to try and deliver a great client experience. The resort is tired in terms of its conditions and needs serious attention which has been well covered. The buffet food is tasty but with so many options prepared ahead of time, often is lukewarm, even the coffee, except at Coco Cafe where it was piping hot. Our main disappointment was the absence of no-smoking rule enforcement. Swim-out suite guests along our building were chain smoking on their patio as were other guests around the community pools despite no smoking policies in place. Yes, we could have spoken to the guests directly or complained to management, and they would have addressed it, but we simply felt the management should be take steps to enforce their policies without being prompted so as to ensure a great customer experience for everyone. Can't beat the heat!

Disappointed that it was just renovated and floor tiles were broken the painting was messy. Toliet kept plugging.Found the room very damp. Necessities weren’t refilled daily. However the staff was more than pleasant

We stayed at Secrets Playa Mujeres in 2024 and were so looking forward to seeing the renovations done in 2025. The biggest improvement was the rooms! Much brighter and modern. The pool area and grounds in general remained the same with the only real change being the checkin location. There didn’t seem to be as many restaurants as we remembered and had to venture to the resort next door, Dreams, for a few dinners. Our biggest disappointment was the beach! There didn’t seem to be much effort in keeping it well maintained. I realize the seaweed was out of the resort’s control, but even the lounge chairs just seemed to be dropped on the beach. There also seemed to be an added emphasis on the Hilton brand, marketing and sales. We stayed here because it was a Secrets not because it was a Hilton. The entertainment staff as well as the staff in general were top notch and met all of our needs. Over all our stay was very relaxing and we were well taken care of. If you don’t mind spending the week at the pool than you would have a great time at Secrets Playa Mujeres.

We thought the grounds was very clean and the rooms were very nice. Large rooms with beautiful look out. Service was excellent by the pool and beach, Getting seats for dinner was very easy with now wait and most dinners were very good. The all You can eat breakfast was very good as well..everything you needed.

Really enjoyed Secrets Tides. It’s a beautiful, upscale resort with a huge beach. Breakfasts and lunches were pretty good (though not outstanding), while dinners were phenomenal. Loved the Coco cafe. All the servers there were fantastic: Jenifer, Estrella, Romery, Rosanna, and especially Josefa who went out of her way to make our trip special. Would definitely go back to this resort if we visit the DR again.

The food and staff were excellent!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach was great and provided a lot of walking. We loved that breakfast, lunch and dinner were al a cart service and ate breakfast every day while watching the sun come up.

Secrets Tides was a beautiful resort, lovely facilities and great beach. Buffet was very good, restaurants were a bit of a mixed bag, some very good some just okay. Adult-only vibe made it much easier to make friends as people weren't preoccupied with their kids and we enjoyed the relative peacefulness. Only serious detraction was the ridiculous "reserving" of pool loungers at stupid times in the morning for the whole day whether people were actually in the pool or not. We had a swim-out which was fantastic, but had we not I would have been seriously annoyed. Entertainment was good, staff were super-friendly, especially at the Cafe which was great. Room was lovely as well. We would recommend subject to the issue with the pool chairs. Tons of Canadians!

We had an amazing time at this resort, however it needs some updating. The views were exceptional and staff went above and beyond! Especially Carlo from Buffett! The drinks were wonderful and entertainment was top notch. They had various bands playing at the bar and the shows were fantastic.

We had an amazing week at Secrets Cap Cana! The grounds were pristine and always well taken care of by the friendly staff. We stayed in a junior suite that was lovely, lots of fresh towels and anything by you could need. Our butler Darling was friendly and attentive and responded to our requests promptly. The restaurants available were delicious, we particularly enjoyed Seaside Grill and Oceana. I used the fitness center daily and my husband loved walking the beach. The beach had white sands and all the seaweed was taken away daily by hotel staff. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a warm relaxing holiday. Beautiful resort, super clean and amazing service on the beach from Javier and Michael! Loved the ocean, preferred pool was very busy. Dinners were great, hard to pick a favourite. Only negative would be the poor service from our butler Jamie.

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. The start was difficult as there was no room for us due to maintenance issues. We were relocated for one night to a dismal room at the adjacent resort Dreams, though came back to a nice room at Secrets, but it was a disruptive start. Highlights were good snorkelling off the beach, fabulous weather, good food and overall nice resort. Night music and entertainment was minimal.

Disappointed in Resort with it being a New Resort it was run down. It didn't look New at all. Leaking ceilings in many Hallways. Broken stair rails. Mold on outside of some buildings. With water leakage, many hallways had lots of water on floors that wasn't even cleaned up. The secure lock on room door didn't work. The food was okay. Buffet was ALWAYS COLD. Not a good buffet at all. A few of the restaurants were okay but far from our expectations for being a Secrets. Also, we paid for Preferred Club. That didn't mean anything there. There was no identification between reg. Guest and preferred. They used the pool and the bar. Only thing they couldn't do was go into the preferred Restaurant. That was a big joke there. Also for being an adults only Resort.......The centre square entertainment was for Dreams as well so Always had lots of kids as well as in Amphitheater lots of kids. The staff was phenomenal, we enjoyed them so much. Special thanks to our Butler SIMON, he was amazing. I love Secrets, but disappointed in this one.

The hotel grounds were beautiful.spacious .wonderful places to sit and have coffee..very , very clean The preferred bars and their bartenders were comedians, knew their capabilites of mixing drink The entertainment was good for the most part, however our entainter Gregory, was top notch. Our servers in the preferred section were courteous and always arrived, with our drinks and food with a smile

The public areas are very nice and very clean. We were there during the Super Bowl. They had a giant TV if you wanted to watch the game. They also had finger foods. At the cafeteria, they had made special desserts for the occasion (mini footballs, etc.). They were beautiful and very good! The rooms are beautiful. Beds very comfortable and nice decor. The chamber maids were excellent. They came by twice a day. The restaurants were very good. The Japanese tapaniake was excellent. The Mexican restaurant and the Asian restaurants were also excellent. The steakhouse was not as good. My steak was fine but my friend's was impossible to cut. Was returned and the next steak was too rare. The beach was nice but you had to get there by 7:30am if you wanted a chair. I would recommend this resort.

This is our 9th Secrets resort that we have been to and Secrets Tides did not disappoint! The resort was very well laid out, the food was good, the staff were excellent and the resort amenities were very good. Everyone who works at the resort works very hard to ensure that your stay is memorable. With this being a newer resort, the rooms were excellent and cleaned exceptionally well each day. The nightly entertainment was good, however the entertainment in the lobby bar from 7pm-850pm was very good. Each night they had something that got the crowd moving (2-piece guitar band, steel drum player, violinist) etc. Whether you went to eat at the buffet, the barefoot grill, the food truck by the beach or the a' la carte restaurants each meal was very good. The nice thing is that men don't have to wear pants for dinners at the a' la carte as shorts work! Give this resort a try you won't be disappointed.

Rooms were cleaned all the time food and service was amazing. I had my jewelry stolen at the airport from my luggage not the resorts fault but they didn't seem to care I wish there was an airtransit represented there when we needed them

It was our 35 wedding anniversary and we wanted to go somewhere special. We were delighted with our choice of Secrets St. Lucia. It was everything we wanted. The room was spacious with all the amenities you could want. An anniversary sash on the door along with a fruit plate, pastries and a bottle wine awaiting us inside. The Preferred upgrade was definitely worth it with excellent attentiveness from our personal concierges (Rochel and Titus) that made our stay extremely comfortable. Lots of great choices for food, fantastic dinner on the beach, choice of pools and night life if you want it. Just be prepared for lots of stairs if in the Preferred section but lots of golf cart assistance if you need it. Second to none.

This is our second time at Secrets Plays Blanca. June 2025 and January 2026 This hotel is a true 5 star luxury hotel. Staff is in abundance to cater to your every needs. We are foodies so we found the food choices somewhat limited. Thank you Robyn

If you’re OK to take a 10-15 minute shuttle to the beach. The beach club was lovely. I was a little disappointed in how many vendors were allowed on the beach considering it is a “private” beach club. Food at all of the restaurants was amazing. I would say the best of any resort I’ve been to. Rooms were clean and comfortable the AC was a little noisy. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Some pools were cooler than others some were warmer than others. You could pick a spot that suited you and there were lots of spots. I didn’t like that there was vendors every evening and where our room was we pretty much had to walk past them and they were aggressive. I think 1 time per week is sufficient for off site vendors. Overall I give this resort an 8.5/10

Hotel is outdated and tired: abundance of Mosquitos and bugs in a room. Located on multilevel ground, so you need a transportation to go to the beach or pool, restaurants. SMT waiting for shuttle takes 15-20 min. Stuff: some good, some do not care at all. Asking for something and they just ignore you Private events on a daily basis, they may block the pool area, so you suppose to go someplace else. Weddings and parties are frequent events. So, they may block restaurants/ buffets and we had to chose where to go to eat from very limited options. Felt like unwanted quests overall. On several occasions they just do installations for event with construction noise 2-3 feet from your chair, so you kind of forced to leave. Food is average and variety is limited Beach: murky water with black/ volcanic sand and tons of jelly fish. Not mentioning gators (rare, but still...) ocean overall is 2 out of 10 experience. Compare to other Caribbean destinations (Cuba/ Aruba) I do not believe I spend $$$$ for that. For the same price I could have a week in Bora Bora 4 seasons.

We are experienced travellers that travel for two weeks each month from November to March. We have stayed at many of five star rated resort resorts. Secrets the vine is a true five star. From the welcome reception to well appointed rooms. From the gorgeous pools, restaurants and wait staff everything was perfection. We could not think of anything to complain about as hard as we tried, except for there was no Robe hooks in our room and the beach was not our favourite Other than that, no matter how hard we try, we can’t think of anything that we would change or that we were unhappy with.

This property was beautiful! Everything was new, clean and well maintained! The staff were helpful and friendly! The beach was well maintained, the sand was powdery soft- the beach area was by far the best in the stretch of resorts close by! The food was good, nothing stood out as incredible, but definitely wasn’t bad!

This resort was a bit disappointing for us and not what we were expecting for the price. The entertainment was lacking and the food was not good. We had a few good dishes but overall the restaurants were disappointing and the buffet was very limited for breakfast, but I loved Rosalina at the omelette station, she was friendly and the omelettes were perfection!! The service however, was excellent, the drinks were great and the hotel itself is very beautiful but I feel they could expand on daily activities and nightly one’s (in particular the YouTube concerts projected on a wall). The amenities in the room are great and service to the room was outstanding! The beach club was very nice but could use a few more chairs and some umbrellas on the beach. Also we did not like being forced to sit down with the uvc rep the second we arrived after 12 hours of travel, she was pushy and really was a poor first impression. Overall the resort could use some improvements, I think improving the food would increase the value by a lot. We enjoyed our stay overall and see this resort as having a lot of potential to be great someday.

This resort was a incredible… we had an amazing time at Secrets Resort and Beach Club.. The service and staff were fantastic The resort was very relaxed, and the food was very good. The beach club was very chill, and in the heart of the Tulum beach strip… Highly recommend

All of the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Beautiful grounds, room and beach. Lots of lounging chairs available to relax by the pool or at the beach. Restaurants are very good too! A very pleasant relaxing week.

Definitely need a dinner buffet wait time to get in restaurants was way to long. Everything was excellent about the resort , the service was excellent and staff was wonderful.Could use a few chairs around the pool.

We recently stayed at this resort and had a mix of great moments and some disappointing issues. The good: The food overall was very good, and the drinks were consistently well made. Service around the pool and beach was excellent — Guillermo, Anteljo and Elvis, who truly went above and beyond and made our days by the water enjoyable. The rooms were clean and well maintained, which we appreciated. The not so good: The new restaurant reservation policy was a major downside for us. While some may like it, I personally don’t. To me, luxury means being able to eat at the restaurant you’re craving that day without rigid planning. In the past, getting a pager and enjoying a drink while waiting for a table was never an issue. If you’re traveling with a larger group, the app won’t even allow you to book more than 4–6 people depending on the restaurant. This was especially frustrating considering the website states under Unlimited Luxury that there is “limitless access to gourmet à la carte dining options without reservations required,” which didn’t match our experience at all. Unfortunately, a sweater went missing from my room during our stay. Additionally, 4 out of the 7 people in our group got sick. I’m not blaming this on any one thing, and we were careful — we even brushed our teeth with bottled water — but it was still disappointing and affected our trip. The biggest letdown was how a birthday celebration was handled. We traveled specifically for a birthday and communicated with the resort a month in advance to book the teppanyaki restaurant for that night. We confirmed the reservation again on the day we arrived. When we showed up the night of the birthday, the restaurant was closed. Concierge then turned the situation around and implied it was our fault. We had to push just to be accommodated at another restaurant, and on top of that, we were still charged for the teppanyaki. I’ll also note that I’ve never stayed at a Secrets resort where teppanyaki was an extra charge — another reason this resort did not feel truly “luxury” to us. Overall, while there were definitely highlights, the inconsistencies, poor handling of special occasions, and policies that didn’t align with what was advertised made this stay fall short of expectations.

The resort isn't even 2 years old and it is amazing. New and modern. Rooms have blue tooth speakers, 2 rain showers, motion lights, robes, slippers, towel rack on balcony a steamer vs an iron, lotions and potions, blow dryer of course...just everything you need. 24 hour room service, laundry service, mini bar service and housekeeping as all resorts have. There are 2 swim up pools for non preferred and 1 for preferred. We found most preferred guests said so not necessary to pay the extra, some had swim up rooms which some loved having and some hardly used...you do get drink service from pool wait staff so there is that. Food was great, we repeated steak house, italian and japanese. The buffet is huge..so much selection. Room service was ok...give it time as could take up to an hour or more depending on time. Entertainment was great, we didn't make it to everything but what we did see we enjoyed; Violinist and sax player in lobby bar were great, rock show fun and silent dance party a MUST...too fun. All staff treated us like royalty , we were spoiled rotten thru our whole 2 weeks. Highly recommend Secrets Tides if you are wanting a trip to Punta Cana.

The resort is very clean. They have great food options for different kind of tastes. There was no wait for any restaurants. The gym is excellent, I used the treadmills everyday. Service and friendliness were excellent. They come to you to ask/bring you drinks. There was entertainment every night and activities all day. Depending if the vacation you want there is not a big night life. This is a more chill and relaxing resort. The beach’s were beautiful and rooms were great! It is a little far from the airport, about an hour drive and usually you have to drop other people off first before this resort.

Everything about this resort was amazing.Food and service stands out above other resorts. Swim out pool is highly recommended, especially recommend asking for a swim out room near the manatee bar as staff will always get you drinks while you get to chill out in your private pool.

We just came back from a couples getaway and had an amazing time at this resort. From the moment we arrived, everything felt luxurious, new and welcoming. We had upgraded to the Preferred club which gave us private transport to the hotel. Check in was easy. We were immediately given a welcome drink off the bus and then brought to the Preferred Lounge where we had more drinks and snacks available while we were checked in. Our butler then met us and gave us a little tour of the resort on our way to the room. Our room was modern and new, everything worked well and was digital, including motion sensor lights in the water closet which was a nice touch. Rooms were cleaned well, stocked well and turndown service done nightly. We spent most of our time between the Preferred pool and the beach which were very close to each other. The Preferred pool bartenders were a great crew, all worked very hard to make sure people were served quickly and there were constant rounds being done on the beach and pool area to take orders. Edward, Jordy and Juan especially stood out but the whole team here was amazing. In the morning for coffee and the evenings for drinks, both Preferred Club lounges were also amazing. Top shelf drink offerings, and the bartenders were excellent mixologists. Felix in the front lobby and Sueheidi (spelling?) and Miguel in the other one were wonderful. The food was very good everywhere. Coffee was nice and strong and house wines were good. We understand the resort is feeding a lot of people so you aren't going to get a gourmet experience but we had no issues. It was nice not to have to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants and we never waited to get in. The Dominican buffet by the beach was also very nice on the Thursday night. Now the things that could be improved. Service in all the restaurants was a bit hit or miss but especially in the Oceana for breakfast and lunch. I think we had some sort of issue every meal there but we still went for the beautiful view while eating and the food was good. Examples - one time they only brought one of us our meal and asked the other why they weren't eating even though the same individual had taken both our orders. Other times we would be seated before others who fully finished appetizers and mains before we received our appetizers and had to ask about them. On other occasions, water would go unfilled while servers walked by to fill water at other tables. None of this ruined our trip but the trip would have been near perfect without the issues. I also don't know why a new resort is still using key cards. It's just something guests have to think about but shouldn't have to. They should upgrade to bracelets and this would also allow easier ability to identify preferred club members. As a preferred club guest, I know for certain non preferred club guests were using preferred areas because they are not really monitored extensively. Someone standing at a podium asking on occasion for a room number as you pass to the pool area is not enough and there was no monitoring of people coming up from the beach. Similarly, no monitoring in the Preferred Club lounges. I was never asked for a room number or any way to identify myself as a Preferred Club member here.

Older resort that requires some upgrades. Hot water was intermittent during stay and many guest were complaining about have no hot water. Food was not up to 4 star but staff was good and tried hard to ensure proper service.

Nice food, all restaurants available for walk ins, accommodating staffs and beautiful rooms. Location is a bit far but the casa zamna area is great with lively bars and shops just outside of the hotel.

Great vacation at Secrets Playa Blanca. It’s a veritable jungle with all of the palm trees and foliage giving the resort a true sense of privacy and remoteness. The Seaside and Oceana restaurants and wonderful. Coco Cafe delivers for the win with phenomenal service of hot and cold beverages and pastries, sandwiches, small nibbles and ice cream - lovely ambiance. Large beach with ample walking opportunities to the south and north.

Fairly new hotel. Still encountered maintenance items. Make up room and do not disturb buttons not functioning. Reported and repaired 2 days later. Receptacles for hair dryer in bathroom not powered. Reported, never repaired. Specialty restaurants, service very slow, with the exception of Windows. Walked out of Dona Altagracia after 90 minutes , still no main course. Reception areas very efficient. Room and balcony quite spacious, pool excellent. Occupancy about 65%, so no problem with chairs and palapas, in spite of the 6 am towel claimer jerks. Our concierge, Claudio, was very helpful and good natured. Others of note, Kelvin the bartender at the pool bar and Brenda with the entertainment team who was seen AND HEARD everywhere. I rate the food as fair with the exception of the roast beef at the Market cafe for lunch time. Best I have ever had!!!

We got to the resort around 2:30. Our room was ready for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole room itself, the king sized bed and the huge shower. The food at the resort was hit and miss. It depended on the day and the meal time. The pools were great, the beach was amazing.

Very modern facility. Had an ocean view. Large room with adjoining ensuite. Very private. Good linen..Lots of Restaurants for gone dining. Excellent poolside and evening entertainment. Very helpful staff.

This was our second time at Secrets Tides, making it a 7 day vacation this time. The grounds are still beautiful! Was happy to see the plants growing, creating more privacy in the swim out rooms, and the creatures returning. The little lizard we named gizmo. The food is delicious, though my husband very much missed the mushroom risotto at Portafino. This time around it was much busier, which often led to sunbed wars but I did not mind throwing a towel down and running for that beautifully warm ocean. Can not advise on the nightlife as we often were sleeping by 9 haha.

Everything is wonderful - rooms, beach, sea. Service was great. Food is ok to good. Entertainment is good. Main things going for this hotel is beach, although pool area is amazing, as well. Hoping to go there again soon.

Pros: beautiful facility and pools. Friendly staff. One of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean. Cons: Obvious lack of supervisory level of attention to detail, to ensure the small details that make a holiday special are not overlooked. Room was not completely ready even though we were a late day arrival. Room was missing amenities that were advertised, and that we heard from other guests had been supplied to them. Pool area for Preferred clients is completely enclosed by day beds, so that anywhere else you sit you are behind a wall of cabanas with no view of pool. Impossible to secure a cabana unless you are prepared to get up at 4:30 am to place towels. Restaurants are incredibly slow during dinner hour. 2-3 hours Either you plan to eat, or do a show. Impossible to accomplish both. Outside dining is very loud, as the restaurants all encircle the nightly outdoor entertainment area. Loud thumping music while you may be expecting a quiet romantic dinner. Not happening! No control of migration of guests from Dreams resort. Many were using the pool and amenities of the preferred Secrets side. The 90 minute drive from the airport is bad enough, but the provided transportation leaves much to be desired. Driver going far too fast given traffic and road conditions. White knuckle drive while driver was using cell phone and passing vehicles in an extremely reckless manner. Would we return? NO

Although the grounds and room where beautiful - the staff could not speak English. We waited for up to 4hrs in line to get into restaurants and even when we did we never got 3/4hrs of what we ordered, and when the food came it was cold. Many people we spoke with were very upset and the amenities, some even went as far as to rent a car and drive into town which was 1.5hrs to get some food. When we arrived the hounded us to take a presentation to buy into there preferred packages and were extremely rude (Virginia) and called me low life if you didn't purchase it. We purchased this resort to be children free and there were children from Dreams resort running around. In all we had the worst vacation. Also, our transfers didn't come to pick up up at the resort which resulted in us paying 280.00 USD to get back to the resort. I would not recommend this resort to anyone for now. Maybe in a few years when they have staff and better food it might be better. I am looking for compensation for the money we put out of our pocket.

There was nothing negative to say about our hotel. The staff was amazing. The resort was amazing. There was always something to do. The service was outstanding. Food was awesome. The resort was clean. The staff made sure that we were well taken care of.

The resort is new, and it’s understandable that things are still being worked out, but there are definitely areas that need improvement. Dinners took nearly two hours from start to finish, and some guests had to wait hours just to get into a restaurant. While the staff are generally friendly and trying their best, it’s clear that many of them still lack proper training. We ran into a serious issue with glass on the pool deck—unfortunately, I found it by stepping on it and cutting my foot. Most of the staff didn’t seem too concerned, except for Mildred, the pool bartender, who was excellent and genuinely cared. The onsite doctor was also great and helped clean the wound, but over the next few days, we continued to notice glass around the pool area with no one cleaning it up. Our room also flooded on the second day due to a shower drain problem that maintenance had supposedly fixed. To their credit, the staff and concierge were quick and helpful in moving us to a new room. Despite the issues, the resort itself is beautiful, and you can tell they’re working hard to improve. The beach is amazing—a bit wavy, which I actually enjoyed, and if you prefer calmer water, you can just walk a few meters down the beach. Overall, it’s a gorgeous property with potential, but the service, maintenance, and safety standards need attention before it truly lives up to the Secrets brand.

We have been to Punta Cana many times and Secrets Royal Beach is now our favorite! The service is outstanding along with the pools, Beach and food. We did not stay in the preferred section and definitely didn't feel like we were missing out. We were spoiled by the staff and enjoyed having access to the neighboring Dreams Resort. This resort has set the standards high!

The hotel and grounds were very clean. Food was great and overall wonderful experience! I would definitely go back! We went to celebrate our birthdays and we had a very relaxing trip. I recommend the following activities: painting on the beach, bracelet making, aqua fitness The drinks were great and the coffee at coco cafe was really good. Go see bartender Richard at the beach bar!!! He knows how to make good Margueritas!
